    Kolotok, originally a livestock marker used in rice fields, has been increasingly marginalized due to modern technological advances that replace cattle and buffalo with mechanical plowing. The disappearance of its distinctive sound has not only silenced the dynamic atmosphere of the paddies but also eroded the agrarian cultural identity of the Ciamis community. This study aims to explore the transformation and innovation of kolotok into a new bamboo musical instrument through the composition “Kolotouch”. The method combines field observation, organological experimentation, acoustic measurement, and the application of Pande Made Sukerta’s text and context theory. The result is the Kolbam, a modified kolotok with a bamboo tube design that produces unique timbres according to the chamber size, integrated into modern bamboo music repertoire. This creation demonstrates that local instrument innovation can revive agrarian cultural values while enriching contemporary musical expression.Sejak lama, petak-petak budaya masyarakat Ciamis terkikis seiring dengan penggunaan teknologi modern dalam setiap aktivitas cocok tanam para petani. Hilangnya bunyi kolotok yang biasanya terdengar dinamis dan menghidupkan suasana persawahan, juga mengindikasikan adanya perubahan pola laku kreatif dan cara pandang masyarakat tentang dunia di sekelilingnya.     This research discusses the development of new clothing by combining two different cultural icons, namely the Kurotomesode Kimono from Japan and the Rama Shinta Wayang from Indonesia. This design is based on the desire to create a fashion work that combines the essence of the two cultures, namely a ready to wear deluxe work with a kurotomesode kimono style and the application of the Wayang Rama Shinta motif, this also shows a unique combination of traditional Japanese beauty and the richness of Indonesian culture. The method used is exploration, design, and realization, with a focus on embroidery techniques on the Wayang Rama Shinta motif. The result is six fashion works that will be exhibited at the 2024 Jogja Fashion Parade.Penelitian ini membahas pengembangan busana baru dengan menggabungkan dua ikon budaya yang berbeda, yakni Kimono Kurotomesode dari Jepang dan Wayang Rama Shinta dari Indonesia. Perancangan ini dilandasi oleh keinginan untuk menciptakan sebuah karya fesyen yang menggabungkan esensi kedua budaya tersebut yakni karya ready to wear deluxe dengan gaya kimono kurotomesode dan pengaplikasian motif Wayang Rama Shinta, hal ini juga menunjukkan perpaduan unik antara keindahan tradisional Jepang dan kekayaan budaya Indonesia.     Anika Nilles’s Mister offers more than just technical drumming—it delivers a rhythmic experience that is rich, complex, and full of nuance. One of the techniques she uses to achieve this is metric modulation, a rhythmic shift that subtly alters the listener’s perception of musical time without changing the actual tempo. This study explores how metric modulation is applied in the bridge leading up to the drum solo, particularly between bars 92 and 101. Using a qualitative approach and score-based music analysis, the research focuses on how the transition from regular quarter notes to quarter-note triplets creates an illusion of acceleration that heightens musical tension. Data were collected through audiovisual observation, rhythmic transcription, and literature review on contemporary rhythmic theory. The findings suggest that metric modulation serves not only as a structural and expressive device, but also as a powerful pedagogical tool. By learning this technique, students can begin to understand rhythm not merely as a numerical pattern, but as a dynamic, lived experience—one that can be shaped, manipulated, and deeply felt. As such, “Mister” becomes not just a performance piece, but a meaningful resource for learning complex rhythm in modern music education.Mister karya Anika Nilles menawarkan lebih dari sekadar teknik drum—ia memberikan pengalaman ritmis yang kaya, kompleks, dan penuh nuansa. Salah satu teknik yang ia gunakan untuk mencapainya adalah modulasi metrik, pergeseran ritmis yang secara halus mengubah persepsi pendengar tentang waktu musik tanpa mengubah tempo yang sebenarnya. Studi ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana modulasi metrik diterapkan di jembatan yang mengarah ke solo drum, khususnya antara birama 92 dan 101. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis musik berbasis skor, penelitian ini berfokus pada bagaimana transisi dari not seperempat reguler ke triplet not seperempat menciptakan ilusi percepatan yang meningkatkan ketegangan musik. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi audiovisual, transkripsi ritmis, dan tinjauan pustaka tentang teori ritmis kontemporer. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa modulasi metrik berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai perangkat struktural dan ekspresif, tetapi juga sebagai alat pedagogis yang ampuh. Dengan mempelajari teknik ini, siswa dapat mulai memahami ritme bukan hanya sebagai pola numerik, tetapi sebagai pengalaman hidup yang dinamis—yang dapat dibentuk, dimanipulasi, dan dirasakan secara mendalam.     Konstruksi Idiologi Dalam Tradisi Mabuug-buugan di Desa Adat Kedonganan, Kuta, Bali

    This study aims to analyze and reveal the ideological construction in the Mabuug-Buugan tradition in the traditional village of Kedonganan, Kuta, Bali. The Mabuug-Buugan tradition is an annual ritual held the day after Nyepi Day as a symbol of purification of oneself and the environment from negative energy. This study uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods to explore the values, beliefs, and symbolism contained in the ritual. Data was obtained through observation, in-depth interviews with traditional leaders, and analysis of relevant documents and literature. The results of the study indicate that the ideological construction within the Mabuug-Buugan tradition encompasses several key aspects: (1) a religious ideology emphasizing harmonious relationships between humans, nature, and God through the teachings of Tri Hita Karana; (2) sacred and spiritual values manifested through the use of mud as a symbol of self-purification; (3) an ideology of preserving local culture amid the growing tide of modernization; and (4) collective identity and community solidarity that strengthen social bonds among village residents. This tradition also reflects resistance to consumerism, which conflicts with local cultural principles. Thus, the Mabuug-Buugan tradition has become an important means for the people of Kedonganan Village to preserve their identity, values, and local wisdom inherited from their ancestors. The results of this study are expected to contribute to cultural studies and serve as a reference for the development of cultural preservation policies in Bali

    This article explores the aesthetic dynamics of collaboration between traditional and modern musical elements through a case study of Peucang, a composition by the music collective SORA (Sound of Heritage). The study focuses on how the integration of traditional Sundanese musical idioms with contemporary composition techniques produces a new musical expression rooted in local identity while being open to global sensibilities. The research employs an analytical-descriptive method by examining structural, thematic, and textural aspects of the composition. The findings reveal that Peucang embodies a dialogic approach, where traditional and modern elements are not juxtaposed superficially but interwoven into a cohesive musical language. This collaborative model demonstrates a pathway for sustainable cultural innovation, where tradition is not merely preserved but transformed and revitalized through creative reinterpretation.     Performing the Other: Gamelan Parakan Salak dan Eksotisasi Identitas dalam Pertunjukan Etnik di Chicago

    Since its first appearance at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, the Parakan Salak gamelan has undergone a shift from a living cultural practice to an object of exotic display embedded in colonial and multicultural narratives. This study investigates how the gamelan is represented in ethnic performance contexts in Chicago and how these representations reflect dynamics of power, exoticism, and identity negotiation. Employing a qualitative approach, this research integrates historical-contextual analysis, qualitative content analysis, and comparative analysis between formal institutions (museums, universities) and community-based performance spaces. Findings reveal that the gamelan is often framed as a token of cultural diversity—visually captivating yet removed from its original social and ritual meanings. Simultaneously, Indonesian diaspora communities have reclaimed the gamelan as a medium of expression and cultural agency, navigating tensions between authenticity and adaptation through performative strategies. This study contributes to critical discourse on the representation of non-Western cultures in diasporic and institutional settings, highlighting the need to reposition traditional arts not only as heritage but as dynamic spaces for negotiating identity, history, and cultural politics in a postcolonial and globalized world

    Abstrak: Penelitian ini membahas persoalan Tradisi Wirid Karinding sebagai bentuk seni pertunjukan yang dikaji dengan perspektif antropologi budaya berbasis seni. Adapun fokus pengkajiannya mengarah kepada aspek fungsi dan makna yang terkandung dalam bentuk penyajian Tradisi Wirid Karinding. Untuk mengungkap persoalan fungsi dan makna tersebut, penulis menggunakan teori Struktural Fungsional dari Radcliffe Brown sebagai pisau bedah penganalisisan substansi permasalahan pokok. Adapun metode penelitianya menggunakan metode deskriptif Analisis dalam bentuk model penelitian Kualitatif. Dalam upaya menjelaskan dan membahas isu-isu penting terkait dengan pokok permasalahan, maka penulis mendeskripsikan secara sistematis dimulai dari Bab I Pendahuluan hingga Bab V Kesimpulan. Dengan demikian laporan hasil penelitian dalam bentuk Skripsi ini dapat memberikan penjelasan dan penganalisisan secara terperinci sesuai dengan sistematika penulisan. The focus of the study is on aspects of function and meaning contained in the form of presenting the Wirid Karinding Tradition. To reveal the problem of function and meaning, the author uses the Structural Functional theory from Radcliffe Brown as a scalpel to analyze the substance of the main problem. The research method uses descriptive analysis method in the form of a qualitative research model. In an effort to explain and discuss important issues related to the subject matter, the authors describe systematically starting from Chapter I Introduction to Chapter V Conclusion. Thus the research report in the form of this thesis can provide a detailed explanation and analysis in accordance with the systematics of writing.     Abstrak: Anyaman bidai adalah sebuah hasil dari kreativitas berbasis kearifan lokal yang memiliki berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai salah satu produk andalan UMKM Kecamatan Jagoi Babang, Kabupaten Bengkayang. Tujuan pada penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peran Pemerintah Daerah dalam memberdayakan UMKM yang ada di Jagoi Babang sebagai upaya meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat yang merupakan kawasan perbatasan Indonesia-Malaysia. Pengumpulan data pada tulisan ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif studi literatur, data yang digunakan pada tulisan ini lebih berupa data sekunder yang dikumpulkan melalui proses studi literatur. Lokasi ini dipilih karena dari data yang ditemukan menunjukkan aspek sosial yang menjadi penyebab perdagangan kerajinan. Kurangnya pengetahuan manajemen dan kewirausahaan pada masyarakat perbatasan; serta tidak adanya strategi yang dimiliki dalam pemasaran bidai, menyebabkan perajin berada pada keadaan yang lemah. Maka dari itu, diperlukan upaya yang harus dilakukan pemerintah dalam memperdayakan masyarakat melalui pengenalan manajemen strategis dalam hal pemasaran, pelatihan pemasaran, dan menjalin mitra agar dapat meningkatkan daya tawar dan mengembangkan jaringan pemasaran yang lebih luas lagi, selain pada wilayah Serikin, Malaysia. Kata kunci: bidai, perbatasan, kerajinan Abstract: Bidai webbing is one of the results of creativity based on local wisdom that has the potential to be developed as one of the mainstay products of UMKM in Jagoi Babang District. The purpose of this study is to find out the role of the Regional Government in empowering UMKM as an effort to increase community income in Jagoi Babang District, which is an Indonesia-Malaysia border area. The data collection in this paper is carried out using a qualitative method, the data used in this paper is more in the form of secondary data collected through the literature study process. This location was chosen because the data found showed the social aspect that was the cause of the craft trade. Lack of management and entrepreneurship knowledge; As well as the absence of a proper and efficient strategy in marketing tea, causing artisans to be in a weak bargaining position. Therefore, community empowerment efforts are needed through the introduction of strategic marketing management, training of marketing personnel, and establishing partners in order to increase bargaining power and develop a wider marketing network, other than in the Serikin area, Malaysia.     INOVASI JURNALISME SENI BUDAYA PADA INSTAGRAM NABIL MUHDOR @BILLMOHDOR

    Abstrak: Penelitian ini menjelaskan bagaimana media sosial menjadi ruang partisipatif yang mendorong munculnya praktik jurnalisme warga yang kreatif dan edukatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode analisis konten untuk mengkaji praktik jurnalisme seni budaya yang dilakukan oleh Nabil Muhdor melalui akun Instagram @billmohdor. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi digital, dan wawancara mendalam dengan kreator dan pengikut aktif. Konten visual, narasi, dan interaksi audiens dianalisis untuk memahami strategi komunikasi dan bentuk inovasi yang digunakan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa Instagram tidak hanya menjadi sarana berbagi konten, tetapi juga ruang aktualisasi jurnalisme kreatif yang memadukan visual sederhana, narasi reflektif, dan nilai-nilai budaya lokal. Nabil berhasil menyajikan konten yang akurat, otentik, dan menyentuh, serta memanfaatkan fitur Instagram secara strategis untuk membangun komunikasi dua arah yang partisipatif. Inovasi ini berdampak pada pola konsumsi budaya audiens yang menjadi lebih aktif, reflektif, dan kolaboratif, serta memperkuat posisi media sosial sebagai ruang literasi dan pelestarian budaya di era digital. Abstract: This research explains how social media becomes a participatory space that encourages the emergence of creative and educative citizen journalism practices. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a content analysis method to examine the practice of cultural arts journalism carried out by Nabil Muhdor through the Instagram account @billmohdor. Data were collected through observation, digital documentation, and in-depth interviews with creators and active followers. Visual content, narratives, and audience interactions were analyzed to understand the communication strategies and forms of innovation used. The findings show that Instagram is not only a means of sharing content, but also a space for actualizing creative journalism that combines simple visuals, reflective narratives, and local cultural values. Nabil succeeded in presenting accurate, authentic and touching content, and strategically utilized Instagram features to build participatory two-way communication. This innovation has an impact on the audience\u27s cultural consumption patterns which have become more active, reflective and collaborative, and strengthens the position of social media as a space for literacy and cultural preservation in the digital era.     STRUKTUR TARI TOPENG KLANA GANDRUNG GAYA PEKANDANGAN: HASIL MODIFIKASI AERLI RASINAH

    Tari Klana Gandrung, merupakan repertoar dalam penyajian Tari Topeng Indramayu, salah satunyapada Gaya Pekandangan. Secara historis, Tari Topeng Klana Gandrung di Pekandangan telahdiwariskan secara turun-temurun oleh dalang topeng Mimi Rasinah kepada cucunya, Aerli. Tarianini mengalami dinamika perkembangan signifikan, terutama melalui interpretasi dan modifikasi olehAerli sebagai generasi penerus dalang topeng Pekandangan. Modifikasi yang dilakukan oleh Aerlitidak hanya sebatas pada aspek kinestetik, tetapi juga mencakup elemen musikal dan inovasiartistik, tanpa mengeliminasi identitas asli tarian tersebut. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisissecara mendalam mengenai struktur tari Topeng Klana Gandrung gaya Pekandangan yang telahdimodifikasi oleh Aerli. Metode kualitatif digunakan pada penelitian ini, dengan menggunakan TeoriStruktur Iyus Rusliana sebagai acuan pemecahan masalahnya. Struktur tari Topeng Klana Gandrungakan digali secara isi dan bentuknya. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu isi dari tarian tersebut tidakmengalami modifikasi secara utuh dikarenakan sebagai pijakan inovasi terhadap bentuknya.Modifikasi bentuk tari dapat dilihat dari durasi penyajian tari, struktur koreografi tari yang terdiri daribagian unggah tengah dan deder, struktur iringan musik yaitu dubiang dan gonjing, serta modifikasipada busana tarinya yang disesuaikan dengan perkembangan masa kini. Paparan artikel inidiharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman komprehensif mengenai kontribusi Aerli Rasinah dalammelestarikan sekaligus memperkaya warisan seni tari Topeng Klana Gandrung Gaya Pekandangan.Kata kunci: struktur, tari Topeng Klana Gandrung, gaya Pekandangan, modifikasi, Aerli Rasinah
