Enhancing the Global Competitiveness of Lombok Tourism Polytechnic Students through Basic Mandarin Training
Basic Mandarin Training for Tourism for Lombok Tourism Polytechnic students was held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. This community service program, organized by University of Mataram's Language Academic Support Unit, aimed to introduce Mandarin to students. Participants were students who would be undertaking internships in the hotel industry in Taiwan. The training consisted of two stages: program socialization and the training sessions themselves. The material provided covered Mandarin phonetic basics, Hanzi character writing, and simulation-based conversation practice. Participants learned through role-playing activities in tourism scenarios, such as hotel room bookings and restaurant services. Despite the program's limited duration, participants showed high enthusiasm and actively participated. They were also introduced to using the Pleco application as a tool to support independent learning. Evaluation results indicated that this program was quite effective in providing a basic understanding of Mandarin for Lombok Tourism Polytechnic students, though independent practice in pronunciation is highly needed. Therefore, after the training, participants were advised to integrate applications and AI to support their self-study efforts. With improved Mandarin skills, students are expected to compete in the global tourism industry and provide higher-quality services to Chinese tourists
Picture Series to Enhance Students’ Writing Narrative
This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of using picture series as a teaching method to enhance narrative writing skills among students at the F Phase of DKV SMKN 1 Parittiga, West Bangka. This research employed a classroom action research through three cycles, including pre-tests, writing activities utilizing picture sequences, peer reviews, and reflection sessions to evaluate students' writing performance. It was conducted for 6 weeks during the academic year 2024/2025. The data were collected through writing test result, teacher's field note. The findings indicated significant improvements in students' narrative writing abilities, with average test scores increasing from 65.45 in the pre-test to 86.21 in the post-test. Additionally, the percentage of students achieving a score of 75 or higher rose from 52% in the first cycle to 89.65% in the third cycle, demonstrating enhanced writing proficiency. In conclusion, the integration of picture series in writing instruction effectively enhances students' narrative writing skills. The structured approach provided by visual aids facilitates creativity and supports students in organizing their thoughts, resulting in improved writing outcomes
Pengaruh Model Discovery Learning Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Peserta Didik Kelas V SDN 46 Cakranegara
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas V SDN 46 Cakranegara pada mata pelajaran IPAS. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental dengan desain penelitian pre test dan post test. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ada seluruh peserta didik kelas V dengan jumlah 37 Peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan menggunakan instrument tes essai kemampuan berpikir kritis dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan model discovery learning . Teknik analisis data menggunakan SPSS 26 dengan hasil hipotesis menggunakan dengan signifikansi yaitu 0,05, diperoleh hasil sig. (2-tailed) adalah 0,026 lebih kecil dari 0,05. Sehingga pengambilan keputusan yang digunakan adalah Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yang artinya terdapat pengaruh dari model discovery learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas V SDN 46 Cakranegara. Setiap sintak dari model discovery learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir ktitis peserta didik kelas V SDN 46 Cakranegara
Penerapan Model Problem-Based Learning Meningkatkan Literasi Sains Siswa Kelas XI SMAN 7 Mataram
Pendidikan berperan penting dalam membentuk kualitas sumber daya manusia, salah satunya melalui penguatan literasi sains yang menjadi kompetensi utama abad ke-21. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model Problem-Based Learning terhadap literasi sains siswa kelas XI di SMAN 7 Mataram. Penelitian menggunakan metode quasi-experimental dengan desain penelitian non equivalen control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA di SMAN 7 Mataram. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling berdasarkan pertimbangan tertentu yang relevan. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal essay literasi sains yang dikembangkan berdasarkan indikator dari OECD 2018. Uji asumsi klasik menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan linieritas. Analisis data menggunakan uji ANCOVA bantuan SPSS 27. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan penerapan model Problem-Based Learning terhadap literasi sains siswa, dengan nilai signifikansi 0,028 (< 0,05). Model Problem-Based Learning dinilai efektif karena mendorong siswa berpikir kritis, mencari solusi, dan mengaitkan konsep ilmiah dengan masalah nyata. Tahapan dalam Problem-Based Learning seperti identifikasi masalah, investigasi, kolaborasi, dan presentasi turut mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir ilmiah yang dapat meningkatkan literasi sains siswa. Oleh karena itu, Problem-Based Learning layak diterapkan sebagai strategi pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan literasi sains siswa
Improving Students' Numeracy Literacy Ability in Physics Subjects
Numeracy literacy is one of the six basic skills that are prerequisites and life skills in the 21st century, for numeracy literacy in Indonesia is still relatively low and far behind other countries for that, numeracy literacy skills are important in physics subjects because physics is inseparable from mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in numeracy literacy of SMA A Class XI IPA students in Physics. The approach in this study used a qualitative and quantitative approach with a descriptive analysis method. The sample in this study amounted to 26 students in class XI IPA-2 at SMA A, West Seram Regency. The instrument used was a test instrument consisting of 15 test questions that included numeracy literacy indicators on the material of material elasticity. The data analysis technique in this study was quantitative and qualitative data which were the main data of the study in the form of numeracy literacy skills before (pretest) and after (posttest). The results of the study showed that the average N-gain value was 0.45 and it was found that 2 students (8%) had numeracy literacy skills at the Skillful level, at the Provicient competency level there were 8 students (31%), at the basic competency level there were 13 students (50%), and at the competency level requiring special intervention there were 3 students (11%), so it can be concluded that there was an increase in the numeracy literacy skills of SMA A Class XI IPA-2 students in Physics with a low category and classified as a basic level
Deskripsi Pembelajaran Bermakna Pada Praktikum Kimia Dasar Mahasiswa Pendidikan Kimia
This study aims to describe meaningful learning in basic chemistry practicum of chemistry education students of FKIP UNTAN. The method used in this research is quantitative descrptive method. Quantitative data were collected using Meaningful Learning in the Laboratory Instrument (MLLI) instrument to measure students’ affective and cognitive experiences after learning in the laboratory. This study also used interview guidelines to collect more in-depth information about meaningful learning experiences for chemistry education students in basic chemistry practicum courses. This study involved 51 first semester students of Chemistry Education of FKIP UNTAN who had completed basic chemistry practicum courses, laboratory heads, laboratory assistants,and lecturers teaching basic chemistry practicum courses. The results showed that all aspects were rated as good. With percentage scores of 67% for affective aspects, 75 % for cognitive aspects, and 67% for affective-cognitive aspects, resulting in an overall average score percentage of 72%. Based on these findings, it shows that first semester chemistry education students have achieved good meaningful learning trough their learning experiences in basic chemistry practicum.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran bermakna pada praktikum Kimia Dasar Mahasiswa Pendidikan Kimia FKIP UNTAN. Sebanyak 51 mahasiswa semester 1 Pendidikan Kimia FKIP Universitas Tanjungpura yang terbagi menjadi 2 kelas menjadi subjek dalam penelitian. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen berupa lembar penilaian Meaningful Learning in the Laboratory Instrument (MLLI) untuk mengukur tingkat pembelajaran bermakna di laboratorium serta pedoman wawancara untuk mewawancarai pihak yang terlibat di dalam praktikum Kimia Dasar seperti kepala laboratorium, asisten laboratorium, dan dosen pengampu mata kuliah praktikum kimia dasar. Temuan dari penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata seluruh subjek pada aspek afektif sebesar 67%, nilai aspek kognitif sebesar 75%, dan nilai aspek afektif-kognitif sebesar 67%. Berdasarkan hasil temuan tersebut didapat bahwa pada aspek afektif, kognitif, dan afektif-kognitif pada subjek semester 1 Pendidikan Kimia dikategorikan baik
The Effect of Implementation of Independent Curriculum on Motivation and Performance of Biology Teachers in Public High Schools
The Independent Curriculum is an educational innovation aimed at providing schools with the flexibility to determine an educational model that fits local needs and the characteristics of students. This study aims to describe the impact of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum on the motivation and performance of biology teachers in public high schools in Palu City. This is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach, to be conducted in 10 public high schools across Palu City. The sample consists of 20 biology teachers from these high schools. The instrument used in the study is an open-ended questionnaire on three aspects: the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, motivation, and performance. For the implementation aspect, there are 16 questions from 3 indicators, for motivation there are 16 questions from 2 indicators, and for performance there are 27 questions from 3 indicators. Tests for validity and reliability, normalcy, linearity, and hypothesis testing with Simple Regression Analysis are all included in the study. Based on the research findings and hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that the implementation of the independent curriculum has a significant and positive effect on the motivation and performance of biology teachers in public high schools in Palu City, with a significance value of 0.000, where <0.05. Furthermore, the results acquired might be used as a foundation for studies on the biology education process under Independent Curriculum
Pembelajaran Berdiferensiasi: Solusi Tepat untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Mahasiswa PGSD dalam Mata Kuliah Konsep Dasar IPA
This research aims to determine the effect of differentiated learning on the critical thinking skills of PGSD students in the basic IPA concepts course. The approach used in this research is quantitative, with a quasi-experimental design. The research was conducted on first-semester students at Yogyakarta State University, specifically in class A as the experimental class with 26 people and class B as the control class with 30 people. The results of the paired sample t-test for critical thinking skills between the pretest and post-test in the control class are 8.744 > 1.697 (t-table N=30) and in the experimental class are 33.303 > 1.706 (t-table N=26). In each class, the significance value is 0.001. If compared to the required value for a significance level of 0.05, the calculated significance is less than 0.05, it is stated that there is a positive influence. The findings indicate a positive and significant impact of differentiated learning on enhancing students' critical thinking skills in the basic IPA concepts course. These results indicate that educators need to consider integrating differentiated learning into their teaching strategies to improve the quality of education.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran berdiferensiasi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa PGSD pada mata kuliah konsep dasar IPA. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini kuantitataif, dengan desain kuasi eksperimen. Penelitian dilakukan pada mahasiswa semester I Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, yaitu di kelas A sebagai kelas eksperimen sebanyak 26 orang dan kelas B sebagai kelas kontrol sebanyak 30 orang. Hasil uji paired sample t test untuk kemampuan berpikir kritis antara pretetst dan posttest kelas kontrol adalah 8,744 > 1,697 (t tabel N=30) dan pada kelas eksperimen adalah 33,303 > 1,706 (t tabel N=26). Pada masing-masing kelas, nilai signifikansi adalah 0,001. Apabila dibandingkan dengan nilai syarat yang harus dipenuhi untuk signifikansi 0,05 maka signifikansi perhitungan kurang dari 0,05 maka dinyatakan bahwa adanya pengaruh positif. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan pengaruh positif dan signifikan dari pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa dalam mata kuliah konsep dasar IPA. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pendidik perlu mempertimbangkan untuk mengintegrasikan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi ke dalam strategi pengajaran mereka untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan
Efektivitas Penerapan Media E-Learning Berbasis Open Source Terhadap Kemampuan Problem Solving Matematis Siswa MTs Di Kabupaten Tangerang
Technology-based learning media is an important tool in supporting interactive and adaptive learning processes in the digital era. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of open source-based e-learning media "Mathematics Laboratory: SPLDV" in improving students' mathematical problem-solving abilities at MTs Negeri in Tangerang Regency. The media used is designed to facilitate interactive learning of concepts and applications of the Two-Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV) in everyday life. The method used is a pre-experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest design, where one group of students is given a pretest, then given treatment using e-learning media, and ends with a posttest. The subjects of the study were grade IX students of MTs Negeri in Tangerang Regency. Data were collected through problem-solving ability tests. The results of the analysis show that open source-based e-learning media "Mathematics Laboratory: SPLDV" can improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities, seen from the N-Gain percentage of pretest and posttest data of 60.815% which is included in the fairly effective category. This study is expected to provide an alternative for educators in integrating learning technology to improve students' problem-solving abilities in mathematics.Media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi menjadi sarana penting dalam mendukung proses belajar yang interaktif dan adaptif di era digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas media e-learning berbasis open source "Mathematics Laboratory: SPLDV" dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa MTs Negeri di Kabupaten Tangerang. Media yang digunakan dirancang untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran konsep dan penerapan Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV) dalam kehidupan sehari-hari secara interaktif. Metode yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimen dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest, di mana satu kelompok siswa diberikan pretest, kemudian diberi perlakuan menggunakan media e-learning, dan diakhiri dengan posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IX MTs Negeri di Kabupaten Tangerang. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa media e-learning berbasis open source "Mathematics Laboratory: SPLDV" dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa, dilihat dari persentase N-Gain data pretest dan posttest sebesar 60,815% yang termasuk dalam kategori cukup efektif. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan alternatif bagi pendidik dalam mengintegrasikan teknologi pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dibidang matematika.
 
Bridging Vocational Needs with Chemistry Content: Designing an Outline of Chemistry Teaching Materials for Textile Dyeing Context
The merging of adaptive chemistry subjects (C.1) into the IPAS project subject in the Independent Curriculum causes the chemistry content to be non-specific and not adapted to all vocational elements. This has the potential to hinder students' understanding of relevant chemistry concepts in their vocational context. This study aims to design an outline of chemistry teaching materials that are relevant to the needs of dyeing subjects in Textile Finishing Engineering VHS. The method used is Qualitative Content Analysis (QCA) with four stages to obtain and evaluate chemistry content related to the dyeing context. The results show that there are 19 chemistry contents that have been systematically arranged and validated based on the sequence, details, and their relationship to the dyeing context. For example, the content of electrolyte solution, acid base, ion equilibrium in solution, and reaction rate plays an important role in regulating the affinity of dyes to fibers and the speed of the dyeing process. This outline is useful for teachers or education practitioners as a clear guide to integrating chemistry content and vocational contexts into learning or teaching materials. For students, it can help them understand chemistry concepts that are more contextual and applicable to their vocational fields
