Reformasi Peraturan Hukuman Mati dalam Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Pidana Baru: Studi Perbandingan Tiga Negara yang Menghapuskan Hukuman Mati
The reform of capital punishment in the New Criminal Code introduces a conditional death penalty mechanism that marks a change in Indonesia's approach to punishment, while raising questions about its compatibility with the principle of the right to life and the development of international human rights standards. This study aims to assess the normative coherence of the conditional death penalty and compare it with models of abolishing capital punishment in three countries. The study uses a normative legal method with a legislative, conceptual, and comparative approach. The results show that the application of conditional capital punishment reflects a transitional step towards more humanistic punishment, but is not yet fully in line with the global trend towards abolition. Indonesia is still in the retentionist category with modifications, so a more comprehensive policy evaluation is needed to ensure alignment with the principle of the right to life.
A MEDIATING TRUST: HOW EASE OF USE AND SERVICE FEATURES INFLUENCE TRANSACTIONAL INTEREST ON THE MYBCA MOBILE APP
The rapid evolution of financial technology has positioned the MyBCA mobile application as a central tool for daily transactions in Indonesia. However, despite its widespread adoption, challenges related to usability, service features, and overall reliability can still impact user trust and subsequently their interest in transacting. This study addresses a crucial gap by empirically investigating the complex relationships among ease of use, service features, trust, and users' transaction interest within the context of the MyBCA mobile application. Specifically, it aims to determine the extent to which ease of use and service features influence transaction interest, and whether trust acts as a mediating variable in these relationships. This research employed a quantitative causal-associative approach, collecting data from a sample of 150 MyBCA Mobile app users in Indonesia through an online questionnaire using a purposive sampling method. The collected data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. The empirical findings reveal nuanced relationships between the constructs. Ease of use was found to have a significant direct positive effect on transaction interest. However, its effect on trust was not significant, suggesting that basic usability is a customer expectation rather than a trust builder. Conversely, service features significantly affect trust but have an insignificant direct effect on transaction interest, implying that features build confidence, but not necessarily immediate action. Importantly, trust has a significant positive effect on users' interest in transacting. Ultimately, the study found a full mediation effect for both relationships, confirming that trust significantly mediates the influence of both ease of use and service features on transaction interest. This novel perspective suggests that while usability and features are essential, their full potential in driving transactional behavior is realized only through the establishment of trust. The conclusion is that digital banks must integrate intuitive design with robust, reliable features and strong security to foster the trust critical for sustained user engagement
BUILDING CONSUMER LOYALTY IN TRADITIONAL MARKETS: THE ROLE OF PRICE, LOCATION, PRODUCT DIVERSITY, QUALITY, AND RELATIONSHIP MARKETING
AbstractTraditional markets remain vital to local economies and social interactions in Indonesia but face growing pressure from modern retail and e-commerce, which are reshaping consumer behavior. Previous studies on the marketing mix and consumer loyalty have yielded inconsistent findings, highlighting the need for a more comprehensive approach. This study examines the influence of the marketing mix—price, location, product diversity, and product quality—together with relationship marketing on consumer loyalty in traditional markets. Relationship marketing is emphasized as a relational strategy that strengthens trust, communication, and long-term commitment. A quantitative survey method was applied, with 230 respondents selected using Hair’s sampling formula, based on the criterion of at least two purchase experiences in Pon and Kliwon Traditional Markets, Lamongan. Data were analyzed using multiple regression with SmartPLS to test both partial and simultaneous relationships among variables. The results indicate that price, product diversity, product quality, and relationship marketing significantly affect consumer loyalty, whereas location does not. Price is the most dominant factor, followed by relationship marketing, product quality, and product diversity. The findings demonstrate that consumers are highly sensitive to price and relational interactions, while location plays a lesser role due to the social and emotional values embedded in traditional markets. This study contributes to the literature by integrating functional and relational perspectives of marketing, offering a novel framework for enhancing consumer loyalty in traditional market contexts. Practically, the results suggest that traders and market managers should prioritize competitive pricing, maintain product quality and variety, and cultivate strong consumer relationships through personalized communication and trust-building. These strategies are crucial to improving the competitiveness and sustainability of traditional markets in the face of modern retail and digital commerce expansion
Student empowerment in waste management to enhance community environmental awareness
Effective waste management is a pressing challenge for developing countries, particularly as rapid urbanization and economic growth lead to increased waste generation. This study examines the application of Vahan Yengidunyan's Territorial Management Theory to enhance environmental cleanliness at Riyadhul Jannah Islamic Boarding School in Babakan, Ciseeng, Bogor. The theory focuses on the strategic planning and organization of space to sustain social order and optimize resource use within a territory. At Riyadhul Jannah, this approach is used to involve students in managing waste through a structured system of territorial division, task scheduling, assignment of responsibilities, monitoring, and rewards and sanctions. The study highlights the need for effective waste management practices, including waste segregation, reduction, and recycling, and the importance of student education and participation in these practices. The implementation of Yengidunyan's theory at the pesantren aims to foster environmental responsibility and sustainability among students, leading to a cleaner and more organized school environment. The results demonstrate that integrating students into the waste management process not only improves operational efficiency but also educates them about sustainable practices, contributing to both local and global environmental conservation efforts. The outcome of participatory monitoring indicate that 60% of students consistently disposed of waste in its proper place. The awareness of environmental cleanliness among students has increased about 80% based on survey results

Teacher competencies and their role in promoting pre-service teachers’ professional growth
This study examined how teacher support, through mentorship, instructional guidance, and relational encouragement, shapes the professional development of pre-service teachers in Indonesian teacher education programs, particularly in influencing their perceptions, readiness, and development of core teaching competencies. A descriptive quantitative design was employed, involving 85 participants who completed a structured questionnaire measuring four key domains of teacher competence: personality, pedagogical, social, and professional. Data were analysed using SPSS, incorporating reliability testing, classical assumption tests, and path analysis to examine the hypothesized directional relationships among these competencies, where personality, pedagogical, and social competencies were modeled as predictors of professional competence. The results indicated that personality, pedagogical, and social competencies significantly and directly influenced professional competence as the outcome variable representing pre-service teachers’ preparedness for teaching. Among these, personality competence had the strongest individual impact. These findings highlighted the multifaceted nature of the relationship between teacher educators and pre-service teachers, both formal and informal, which played a critical role in fostering professional identity and instructional confidence by strengthening foundational competencies. By focusing on pre-service teachers’ perspectives, this study addressed an essential gap in the literature concerning how competency domains interact to form overall professional competence and provided evidence-based insights for enhancing teacher education programs. Ultimately, the study underscored the need for holistic and responsive teacher training models that integrated interpersonal, ethical, and instructional dimensions aligned with the competency pathways identified in this study to better equip future educators

The findings reveal that the removal of fuel subsidies significantly increased transportation costs in Delta State, while existing government measures to cushion the effects have shown limited success. The study recommends that the Delta State Government should revitalize the Delta Mass Transit system (popularly known as Uduaghan Bus) and promote the adoption of electric vehicles through targeted subsidies to mitigate rising transportation costs
APPLE'S SILENT MARKETING STRATEGY ADAPTS TO LOCAL CULTURAL VALUES IN THE GLOBAL MARKET
In a dynamic global marketing landscape, Apple's silent marketing strategy offers an interesting alternative approach to conventional promotional practices. Rather than relying on explicit advertising and persuasive language, Apple communicates through symbolic design, minimalist aesthetics, and immersive customer experiences. This study aims to analyze how Apple's silent marketing strategy adapts to local cultural values across various global markets without compromising its global brand identity. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this study synthesizes findings from 30 academic sources published between 2005 and 2024, covering markets such as the United States, Japan, and Indonesia. The results reveal three key findings: first, Apple consistently conveys its brand message through visual narratives and experiential design; second, Apple implements symbolic cultural adaptation by adjusting visual elements and spatial aesthetics to local norms; and third, consumer interpretation of silent communication is mediated by cultural context, particularly effective in high-context societies such as Japan and Indonesia. From a theoretical perspective, this study strengthens the relevance of cultural branding and cross-cultural communication theories in understanding how global brands operate. Practically, this study offers strategic implications for global marketers in balancing standardization with local sensitivity. Ultimately, silent marketing is not just a tactic, but a communication philosophy that constructs meaning through emotions, symbols, and cultural empathyto reduce the negative impacts of global trade tensions
