Leadership alone is not enough: Why culture and satisfaction matter more in developing employee agility?

Due to the intense rivalry in the communications industry, businesses require adaptive employees to keep staying resilient. While various factors have been examined to support employee agility, the combined roles of organizational culture transformation and leadership style in shaping employee satisfaction and agility remain underexplored, especially in the context of telecommunications sector. This study investigates how organizational culture transformation and leadership style influence employee satisfaction and, in turn, employee agility. A quantitative approach was employed by collecting data from 150 employees of one of the largest telecommunications firms in Indonesia, using simple random sampling. The data were analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The findings show that leadership style and culture transformation both significantly enhance employee satisfaction. Moreover, culture transformation directly strengthens employee agility, whereas leadership style does not have a direct effect on agility. Although previous studies suggest that leadership style can directly shape agility, this study demonstrates it does not, because employees require not only guidance and inspiration from their leaders but also a strong, supportive culture to feel safe, encouraged, and motivated to adapt and take initiative, which are key elements of agility

This study investigates the relationship between transformational leadership and sustainable performance through two mediating variables: innovative work behavior and pro-environmental behavior. A total of 210 employees from CV Kalingga Keling Jati were surveyed using a Likert scale (1–5) questionnaire with a quantitative approach. The data were analyzed using SmartPLS. The findings reveal that transformational leadership has a positive and significant effect on pro-environmental behavior, innovative work behavior, and sustainable performance. Furthermore, the effect of transformational leadership on sustainable performance is mediated by both innovative and environmentally friendly work behaviors. This emphasizes the role of transformational leaders in fostering a workplace culture that encourages creativity and environmental responsibility, which in turn enhances business sustainability. Practically, this suggests the need for leadership development programs that emphasize creativity and environmental awareness

Background: Depression and anxiety are common psychological problems experienced by post-cesarean section mothers, affecting maternal well-being and infant development. Non-pharmacological interventions such as self-hypnosis may serve as safe and effective therapeutic methods. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of self-hypnosis in reducing depression and anxiety in post-cesarean section patients. Methods: This double-blind randomized controlled trial used a pretest–posttest control group design with 32 respondents randomly assigned to an intervention group (self-hypnosis, 15 minutes, twice daily, for 14 days) or a control group (cesarean section educational recording). Depression was assessed using the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) and anxiety using the Postpartum Specific Anxiety Scale (PSAS). Within-group analysis used paired t-test or Wilcoxon, and between-group analysis used independent t-test or Mann–Whitney. Results: The intervention group’s EPDS score significantly decreased from 12.25 ± 1.29 to 7.94 ± 1.39 (p=0.000), while the control group showed no significant change (12.00 ± 1.21 to 11.50 ± 1.41; p=0.083). PSAS scores in the intervention group significantly decreased from 91.50 ± 3.82 to 74.13 ± 3.52 (p=0.000), whereas the control group did not (90.88 ± 3.09 to 89.69 ± 3.22; p=0.083). Between-group differences in score reduction were significant (p=0.000). Conclusion: Self-hypnosis is effective in reducing depression and anxiety in post-cesarean section patients and can be considered a supportive non-pharmacological intervention. Indonesia’s palm oil industry, a cornerstone of national economic growth and rural livelihoods, faced escalating trade barriers and sustainability demands, particularly from the European Union, from 2005 to 2015. This study investigates Driving factors behind Indonesia’s 2015 decision to cooperate with Malaysia in CPOPC: Economic, political, and environmental considerations, using employing Richard C. Snyder’s foreign policy decision-making framework to systematically analyze the interplay of internal and external factors. The research adopts a qualitative explanatory literature review, synthesizing data from peer-reviewed journals, policy documents, and credible news sources published from 2005 to 2015. The analysis reveals that Indonesia’s policy shift was driven by the convergence of domestic economic imperatives such as maintaining export revenues, supporting smallholders, and responding to industry lobbying, and mounting external pressures including discriminatory European Union regulations, NGO campaigns, and global market competition. The formation of CPOPC is shown to be a pragmatic diplomatic response, enhancing Indonesia’s bargaining power, promoting sustainable palm oil standards, and fostering collective action with Malaysia to counter external challenges. This research fills a gap in the literature by demonstrating how multi-level decision-making processes and transnational alliances can be mobilized to safeguard national interests in contested global commodity markets. The findings offer practical insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders on the importance of strategic cooperation and adaptive diplomacy in the face of evolving international trade and sustainability regimes
