THE INFLUENCE OF VOCABULARY JOURNAL IN TEACHING STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY
Get PDFThe aims of this research is to find out the influence of vocabulary journal as media in teaching student vocabulary at the eighth grade students of SMP Al-Fajar. The quantitative method was conducted and this research is a population research, because all the member of population is taken as sample, which consisted of 30 students of eighth grade. To collect the data, the writer used pre-test and post-test, then the vocabulary test was used as the research instrument. To know whether there is an influence, the writer analyzed the data by using paired-sample T-test.The result shows that there is significant influence of vocabulary journal in teaching students’ vocabulary mastery.Keywords: Influence, vocabulary journal, students’ vocabulary master

POLA PENERIMAAN SISWA TUNANETRA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA DI SMPLB
Get PDFAbstract The blind students have limitations in receiving information, they are only a hold of the senses of hearing and touch, so understanding of abstract mathematical objects understood through verbal description of teacher with concrete objects directly fingered. This can result in a lack of ability of students to accept the concepts being. The acceptance of blind students in understanding the concept of geometry, include: 1) the students' attention to the teacher's explanation; 2) the pattern of asking; and 3) the pattern of answers. Reception pattern blind students in understanding the concepts learned can be viewed through direct observation during the learning activities with the help of a data recording device handycame. The data has been analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion and validity of the data obtained by using triangulation time. The result showed that blind students have a pattern of acceptance in understanding the concept of geometry, as follows: 1) the students' attention to the explanation of the teacher in the learning merely listened without linking with the previous concept; 2) the pattern command asks merely asking the teacher is less clear, which is not directly related to the concept studied; 3) the pattern of students in answering questions of teachers, obtained from the statements that have been previously informed. USING INQUIRY-BASED TEACHING (5E) IN TEACHING VOCABULARY VIEWED FROM STUDENTS’ LOCUS OF CONTROL
Get PDFAbstract The objectives of the research are to find out: (1) whether inquiry-based teaching is more effective than grammar-translation method to teach vocabulary; (2) whether the students who have high locus of control have better vocabulary than those who have low locus of control; and (3) whether there is an interaction between teaching methods and locus of control in teaching vocabulary.The factorial design method 2x2 was employed in this research. The population of the research was the students of fourth semester of STKIP Muhammadiyah Pringsewu Lampung in the academic year of 2014/2015. Based on the test of the hypotheses, it can be concluded that inquiry-based teaching is not significant effective method to teach vocabulary. ANALISIS KEDUDUKAN DAN FUNGSI HIKAYAT RAJA BUDAK
Get PDFAbstract Hikayat Raja Budak (HRB) is one of Malay literature in prose. Based on the content, HRB contains relevant high moral teaching current life. Besides that HRB reflected the custom which is existed of Malay kings of yore, especially the customs that inherited from Sriwijaya era. This study aims to describe the position and function of Hikayat Raja Budak. The methods of this research are using descriptive and analytical methods. Descriptive method was used to describe the data in the form of HRB manuscript. HRB manuscript that examined in this study was obtained from Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia (PNRI). Based on its position in Malay literature HRB can be classified in the Malay literary that influenced by Hindu-Islam transition. This classification based on the story that contains blend elements of Hinduism and Islam. PROFIL PERTANYAAN SISWA TUNANETRA KELAS IX SMPLB YKAB SURAKARTA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA
Get PDFAbstract Thinking can be drilled to the student by developing question skill during teaching process. Personal life quality is determined from question quality; the more qualified a question the more success a person in life. Therefore, this study analyzed the students question to find out the students question quality. The subject of this study is IX class of SMPLB YKAB students Surakarta. The data was found by observation with handy cam. The data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. From the data analysis was found the result that 89 questions from the students consist of 46 (51, 68 %) questions that consist of C1, 2 elements (2,25 %) questions that consist of C2, 25 elements (28,09 %) questions that consist of C4 elements. Based on the finding of the study could be conclude that majority of visual impaired students in low categorize because of having C1, C2, and C3 elements.Keywords : visual impaired students question, mathematics learning
PENINGKATAN SELF ESTEEM SISWA KORBAN BULLYING MELALUI TEKNIK ASSERTIVE TRAINING
Get PDFThis study is based on students’ problem who undergone the decreasing of self-esteem due to bullying that students receive in their environment. The long-term goal which going to be achieved is related to self esteem problem of students bullying victims that is capable to solve problem by using effective and tested product through counseling with assertive training technique. This study used research and development method. The steps are: (1) preliminary research; (2) designing model; (3) developing model; (4) testing model restrictively; (5) analysing model; (6) revising model; (7) testing model widely; (8) dissemination of model; and (9) recommending tested model. BUILDING VOCABULARY USING POP SONGS
Get PDFThe objective of the study is to find out whether there is a significant difference between the vocabulary mastery of first semester students taughtusing English pop songs and that taught without using English pop songs as a medium. This study involved 64 students of first semesterof STKIP Muhammadiyah Pringsewu Lampung in the academic year of 2012/2013 as the objects of the study. The result of the study shows there is a significant difference in the student’s vocabulary mastery between the experimental group who are taughtusing English pop songs and that taught without using English pop songs as a medium.The mean of post test score of the experimental group is 16.93 while the mean score of the control group is 14.54. The result of t-test shows that t-observed value which is higher than the t-value of the table (2.572>1.99), with a probability value of 0.008 which is lower than the significance level (0.008 < 0.05). In conclusion, the use of English pop songscould improve the students’ vocabulary mastery.Keywords: Vocabulary, English Pop Song
