Get PDFThis research described Sundanese identity on “Abah jeung Laptop” by Hikmat Nugraha. The research analised narrative struckture and setting on the short story. This study aimed to describe how the representasion of Sundanese identity on contemporary literature. This research used qualitative method and literature study for collecting the data. In analyzing the data, the researcher used narrative struckture method by Mieke Bal to describe how narrator and fokalisator on the short story affected how Sundanese identity be representasion on this story. The analysis showed the representasion of Sundanese identityon the actors on story changed because of modernize. The struggle which representing by the actors showed how shifting of identities was very difficult but identities always changed because of history and cultures change
PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN PERMAINAN TRADISIONAL GUNDU TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN KONSEP PENGUKURAN PANJANG
Get PDFThis study aims to find the effect of using the traditional game of marbles to the understanding of the concept of length measurement. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental research. The study population was grade II SDN 8 Negeri Katon, Pesawaran. This study uses total sampling so that the two classes were used that II A and II B respectively numbered 31 people’s. Data collected by the test results of study and the data were analyzed with quantitative statistics. The results showed that there are significant differences in the understanding of measurement concepts between students who learn to use traditional game of marbles with students who learn by direct learning model. Understanding the concept of measuring the length of the student using the traditional game of marbles showed higher results than students who learn by direct learning model
PROJECT BASED LEARNING IN EVOKING STUDENTS’ WILLINGNESS TO CREATE BUSINESS: A CASE STUDY IN CLASS OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Get PDFAbstract This research has a purpose to report the implementation of Project Based Learning (PBL) as a teaching method to evoke students’ willingness in creating business in entrepreneurship class.The research used qualitative approach which involved the case study method. In doing the project, 62 students of STKIP Muhammadiyah Pringsewu was divided into 31 pairs. The technique of collecting data by using questionaire of motivation in creating bussiness by Utoyo. THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION
Get PDFAbstract The aim of this research is to know what the English Department students’ perceptions are on the entrepreneurship. The research was conducted at the sixth semester of STKIP Muhammadiyah Pringsewu which the participant were the students who studied Entrepreneurship. There were 50 students who were involved in this research. But, in this research, the researcher only took 5 students as the representative of the students since the design of this research was qualitative research design. The data collecting techniques used in this research were think- aloud protocol, interview and observation. In analyzing the data, the researcher did some activities such as; describing, classifying and connecting. The finding of the research showed that the students have positive perception on entrepreneurship and the students also think that entrepreneurship is important seen from the usage perception.Keywords: Perception, Entrepreneurship and English Department students
COLLABORATIVE WRITING: PRODUCT AND STUDENTS’ REFLECTIONS
Get PDFProducing a jointly written text becomes popular investigation in some studies. The main concern of the study was to investigate the students’ writing product and students’ reflection in collaborative writing. The study was mixed-method research with the exploratory design. 49 third year students at English Education Department in the academic year of 2016-2017 of STKIP Muhammadiyah Pringsewu Lampung attended the study. The study compared texts produced by pairs with those produced by individual learners as the sources of quantitative data and the students’ reflection as qualitative data. The study also elicited the learners ‘reflections on the experience of collaborative writing. The study found that the students’ writing score that work in pairs/collaboratively was higher than individual work product. Writing collaboratively also give positive impact on the students’ social aspect. They learned to work in team and reduced their feeling of under pressure

The aim is to produce a peer counselor to help treat psychological problems of orphans by utilizing peer counselor. This activity was conducted in 10 times the activity began identifying candidates for peer counselors service up on basic skills training for the implementation of counseling their peers. The solutions offered in the process of this service activities (IbM) performed in several methods such as Focus Group Discussion (FGD), varied lectures, role play and games. Get PDFThis paper is determine representation about culture in the Hujan Bulan Juni novel by Sapardi Djoko Damono. This paper based in the issue that comes from the novel related to the chracteristic of Javanese and Manado culture. The aim of this paper is to describe culture representation that shows by the concept of this novel. This explanation based on the theory about Javanese people’s characteristic from Geertz, Manado people’s characteristic from Sumampow and concept culuture identity from Hall and Woodward. The result of the analysis shows that the novel displays the cultural characteristics of Java wich is different for each character. The ‘ethok-ethok’ (pretend), ‘wedi’(afraid),’ isin’(shame), dan ‘sungkan’ attitude displayed by the character that has the constancy of identity. While being open, straight foward and aggressive attitude. While Manado characters are represented through characters steady by showing agrressive attitude, overt, brave, culinary practice, character name and Christianity. Different cultural characteristics to each person indicate the liquid identity.

The low of students' ability in scientific writing them due to lack of interest in reading and low mastery of vocabulary. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of the interest in reading writing skills, vocabulary mastery of the skill of writing and reading, and vocabulary mastery together against this writing. The study using quantitative methods, with the prerequisite test of normality, linearity and homogeneity. The results showed that: 1) there is no influence interest in reading the writing skills of exposition, 2) There is a significant relationship between vocabulary mastery of the writing skills, and 3) there are significant interest in reading and mastery of vocabulary jointly affect the writing skills expositio
