    Get PDF
This study aims to reveal how vernacular typography shapes an authentic, functional, and sustainable urban communication aesthetic in the Pasar Johar and Kampung Kali Code areas of Yogyakarta. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, this research explores the lived experiences of merchants, designers, and visitors in constructing and interpreting local typography as a distinctive visual identity of the urban landscape. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, six months of participatory observation, and visual documentation of signage and design artifacts. Data analysis employed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, involving data condensation, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that vernacular typography serves not merely as an aesthetic element but as a cultural communication medium that enhances the area’s attractiveness, strengthens local identity, and stimulates community-based economic growth. The implementation of design principles—proportional flexibility, material authenticity, and cultural layering—produced a typography system that harmonizes cultural authenticity with modern commercial needs. The revitalization of signage using vernacular typography increased visitor footfall by 156%, fostered community pride, and created a multiplier effect through the empowerment of local artisans. These findings affirm that culturally grounded design strategies offer an effective alternative paradigm for developing sustainable urban communication aesthetics in the Indonesian context. Revitalisasi signage berbasis tipografi vernakular meningkatkan kunjungan pengunjung hingga 156%, memperkuat kebanggaan komunitas, dan menciptakan efek ekonomi berantai melalui pemberdayaan pengrajin lokal. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa strategi desain berbasis budaya lokal dapat menjadi paradigma alternatif yang efektif untuk pengembangan estetika komunikasi urban berkelanjutan di Indonesia

    Get PDF
This study examines the adoption of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) strategies within the mining sector of East Kalimantan, aiming to support a sustainable economic transition and mitigate ecological risks. Driven by the pressing need to address the severe environmental consequences of resource extraction, this research employs a descriptive qualitative methodology, utilizing primary data derived from a questionnaire distributed to 28 managerial respondents. Findings indicate robust corporate commitment to GSCM, particularly in high-compliance areas such as Environmental Management Systems and Reverse Logistics. Reverse logistics has been proven to be the most critical component for mitigating post-mining ecological liabilities. However, GSCM adoption faces structural inertia in Green Distribution and Energy Transition. The perceived benefits are primarily strategic (improved corporate image), with high uncertainty regarding direct economic quantification. The study highlights the necessity of deepening GSCM penetration into pre-mining planning and integrating environmental accounting to realize sustainability goals fully

This study aims to analyze the influence of Intellectual Capital and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) on company value, as well as the role of company size as a moderation variable in technology companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2020-2023 period. The research method used is quantitative associative with secondary data obtained from the company's annual report. The sample consisted of 15 technology companies selected through the purposive sampling method, resulting in a total of 60 observational data. The analysis technique used was panel data regression with the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) approach using the EViews 12 statistical test tool. The results of the study show that Intellectual Capital has a significant positive effect on the value of the company. The Debt to Equity Ratio also has a significant positive influence on the value of the company. However, the size of the company is not able to moderate the relationship between Intellectual Capital and the value of the company. On the other hand, the size of the company has been proven to moderate the influence of the Debt to Equity Ratio on the value of the company. The value of the determination coefficient (R2) of 0.998320 indicates that the variation in the company's value can be explained by 99.83% by independent variables in the model. These findings show that the management of intangible assets such as Intellectual Capital as well as capital structures through DER have an important role in increasing the value of companies. However, the scale of the company does not always reinforce that influence consistently

    Get PDF
Early childhood education in Malaysia is divided between TASKA (for children aged 0-4) and preschools (for children aged 4-6). TASKA centres play an essential role in providing nurturing care and early education for infants and toddlers. However, despite the growing awareness of the importance of early learning, TASKA centres in Malaysia still face challenges such as limited teacher training, unequal quality among urban and rural areas, and increasing parental expectations. This study explores the ways TASKA can strengthen infant and toddler education to align with parental aspirations and current educational trends. The findings show that TASKA has improved in areas of safety and health but must also prioritise holistic learning through play-based and interactive approaches. Strengthening teacher training, parent partnerships, and curriculum design will ensure that TASKA continues to meet the needs of Malaysian families and contributes to lifelong learning success

THE INFLUENCE OF ACADEMIC EXPECTATIONS ON MINDFUL PARENTING

    Get PDF
Madura is an island that forms part of East Java Province, Indonesia. One of its administrative regions, Bangkalan Regency, exhibits a fluctuating pattern of migration each year, both within the country (intercity and inter-regency) and internationally. The region consistently records a significantly negative net migration rate on an annual basis. Parents who migrate and live-apart from their children often entrust their childcare responsibilities to grandparents or other relatives. Children who experience prolonged separation from their parents are more likely to encounter psychological and academic difficulties. Everyparent holds aspirations for their children’s future. Among these aspirations is academic expectation, which refers to parents’ hopes and ambitions regarding their children’s academic achievement and career success. These expectations are often reflected in parents’ child-rearing practices. One effective approach to parenting that can help actualize these expectations is mindful parenting, a parenting style that emphasizes awareness, presence, and conscious attention in guiding children’s development

Interpersonal communication is a fundamental skill that plays a crucial role in supporting students’ academic success and mental well-being. This study aims to comprehensively analyze the effectiveness of psychoeducational interventions, the dynamics of interpersonal communication in higher education, and the influence of digital technology and artificial intelligence on students’ social relationships. A comprehensive synthesis approach was employed by integrating intervention studies, systematic literature reviews, and experimental research. The findings reveal that psychoeducational training significantly enhances students’ resilience and emotional regulation, which subsequently improves interpersonal communication skills. Highquality interpersonal relationships—characterized by empathy and communication clarity—positively contribute to learning motivation and academic satisfaction. Meanwhile, the use of digital technology and smart replies accelerates communication but may reduce the perceived authenticity of interactions. Furthermore, a strong correlation was found between communication competence and students’ mental health. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating interpersonal communication training into the curriculum, promoting critical digital literacy, and maintaining a balance between online and offline communication to strengthen authentic and meaningful social relationships in higher education

In the evolving education landscape, teacher professional development (TPD) is crucial for enhancing English language teaching. This qualitative study, using a case study approach, explored how TPD programs impact teaching quality, focusing on the experiences of NH, an exemplary female teacher at SMA N 1 Prambanan Klaten, Central Java. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews, and thematic analysis was employed to identify key insights. Data analysis in this study followed the three-stage framework developed by Miles et al. (1988): data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification, including; first, Data reduction aimed to simplify the raw data by summarizing key points and paraphrasing, thus making it more manageable. Second, Data display focused on organizing and presenting the reduced data for enhanced comprehension. Finally, conclusion drawing/verification involved interpreting the displayed data and deriving meaningful insights. The findings revealed that TPD programs, including the Teacher Educator Program, Teacher Target Program, and Instructor Mover Program, significantly contributed to the teacher's professional growth. Specifically, the teacher highlighted the benefits of collaborative learning, practical application of materials, active learning strategies, and the development of a strong professional community. These elements were perceived as essential for effective TPD. This study recommends future research to investigate diverse TPD approaches across various educational contexts and teacher demographics to further understand their impact on teaching quality. This research is motivated by the low Arabic text reading skills (maharah qira'ah) among 10th-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Abu Darrin Sumbertelaseh Dander Bojonegoro, which is caused by the use of conventional learning methods that are less engaging. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of using short videos in improving maharah qira'ah, particularly in reading Arabic texts correctly, including pronunciation and content comprehension. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with two groups: 30 students from class X-5 as the experimental group, who received short video-based learning, and 30 students from class X-6 as the control group, who used conventional methods. Data collection instruments included pre-test and post-test assessments of reading skills, which had undergone expert validation and reliability testing. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical tests and t-tests with SPSS version 30. The results showed that learning with short videos had a significant impact on improving maharah qira'ah, as evidenced by a t-test value exceeding the significance threshold and a large effect size (Cohen’s d) of 0.804. The use of short videos significantly contributed to enhancing students' maharah qira'ah by enriching the learning process through engaging audiovisual elements, increasing motivation, and improving focus. With visual imagery, clear audio, and relevant contexts, short videos facilitated the understanding of Arabic texts and proved more effective than conventional methods. These findings confirm short videos as an innovative alternative learning medium that aligns with the needs of today's students, opening opportunities for the development of more creative and adaptive Arabic language learning methods in the future.
