    The impact of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) on compatibility dimensions, academic achievement, and smoking cessation

    This study examines the efficacy of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in enhancing compatibility dimensions (personal and emotional, health and physical, family, and social), reducing smoking behaviour, and its indirect impact on academic achievement among university students. Employing a longitudinal, quasi-experimental design, the research engaged 39 students at Al-Isra University who underwent CBT sessions, with assessments conducted at four intervals: pre-treatment, immediately post-treatment, and at one- and three-month follow-ups. Findings reveal that CBT significantly improved compatibility dimensions across all categories, affirming its potential to ameliorate personal and emotional well-being, physical health, and social and family dynamics. Concurrently, a marked reduction in smoking behaviour was observed, highlighting CBT\u27s efficacy in smoking cessation. Contrary to expectations, enhancements in compatibility dimensions did not translate into measurable changes in academic achievement within the study\u27s timeframe, suggesting the complexity of factors influencing academic performance. These outcomes underscore the multifaceted benefits of CBT in fostering well-being among university students and advocate for the integration of holistic psychological interventions within student support services. However, the lack of a direct correlation between compatibility improvements and academic success calls for a broader approach to enhancing student performance, encompassing academic and institutional support mechanisms alongside psychological interventions. This research contributes to the understanding of CBT\u27s broad-spectrum benefits, emphasizing the need for comprehensive support strategies that address the psychological, social, and academic dimensions of student life. Future studies are encouraged to explore the long-term effects of CBT on academic outcomes and to examine the interplay of contextual and institutional factors in students\u27 academic success

    Optimizing the geometry of a cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (CDRA) in combination with the design of a microstrip patch antenna to improve antenna efficiency

    The primary objective of this study is to improve the efficiency of dielectric resonator antennas (DRAs) by the manipulation of their geometric and material characteristics. Two distinct cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with microstrip patch antenna designs chosen, and deliberate modifications implemented in a systematic manner to enhance crucial characteristics including gain, bandwidth, S-parameters, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), and directivity. Furthermore, an investigation was conducted to assess the efficacy of incorporating additional layers into the design of the DRA to achieve increased gain and enhanced efficiency at a frequency of 28 GHz. The research encompassed the process of collecting and designing and simulating CDRA and microstrip patch antenna antennas utilizing the CST framework. The study investigates different configurations of apertures and alterations or holes in the patch geometry to improve both the gain and efficiency. A comparative analysis between both antennas was carried out utilizing performance criteria such as S-parameters, gain, directivity, bandwidth, and VSWR and efficiency. The discourse explores the progress made in the field of technology pertaining to the improvement of gain and bandwidth. This includes the utilization of high-dielectric-constant materials, modifications in resonant frequencies, and the implementation of metamaterial (MTM) cells. The CST program is utilized for conducting realistic trials and assessments. The research highlights the advantages of CDRA antennas and microstrip patch antennas, including improved radiation efficiency, smaller size, lower profile, and lightweight design. The integration of photonic crystal layers into the design of the cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (CDRA) was emphasized as a noteworthy enhancement, resulting in amplified gain.     Feasibility analysis of the application of restricted buckling braces as a response control system

    Peru is a country with high seismic activity, necessitating the implementation of seismic response control techniques in its buildings to enhance protection without incurring high costs. Although seismic response control systems are already in use, displacement-activated energy dissipators, such as buckling restrained braces (BRB), are not yet common in Peru, unlike in other countries where they are widely used. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to redesign a structural steel building using buckling restrained braces as a seismic response control system. Secondary objectives include analyzing the theoretical principles behind the design of these elements, determining the most appropriate configuration for the specified building, evaluating the proposed reinforcement through nonlinear analyses, and comparing performance differences with and without the use of BRBs. For this, both national and international standards such as the Peruvian seismic-resistant design standard E030, ASCE 7-16, AISC 341-16, and AISC 360-16, among others, were applied. The process began with an extensive compilation of information and bibliographic review, followed by the selection of the steel building for redesign with the new response control system. The main configurations of BRB suitable for the proposed analysis direction were explored and selected. Subsequently, the building design was initiated, starting with the sizing of the BRB cores and their verification under the Peruvian standard E030 through a linear dynamic analysis. The design was then evaluated by adjusting the force distributions of the BRBs in the other frame components. Finally, a comparison of the structural performance of the system with BRBs versus the original SCBF system was conducted through a nonlinear static analysis, concluding with a nonlinear dynamic Time-History analysis to verify the building\u27s maximum responses, such as drifts, displacements, forces, and dissipated energy

    Mobile technologies as a tool to support inclusive learning in higher education institutions

    The use of digital technologies in modern educational environments is an urgent requirement. This article aims to study mobile technologies as an effective mechanism for supporting and developing inclusive learning in higher education institutions. To achieve this goal, the article employs methods of scientific content analysis of literature and comparison, which allow for identifying the positive aspects of integrating mobile technologies into inclusive education and the difficulties that exist on this path. The study results indicate a need to utilize both traditional and specialized technologies in the modern higher education landscape. The analysis reveals that traditional technologies supporting inclusion primarily include applications for organizing learning, mobile communication technologies, and applications for creating specialized learning content, including multimedia and virtual technologies for individuals with special educational needs. Among the specialized tools for supporting inclusive learning are apps that enhance vision and hearing. This category also includes mobile applications that support lectures through various subtitle options. The study found that such mobile technologies improve knowledge acquisition and enhance the efficiency of the learning process. It concludes that these applications contribute to greater student integration, reduce social isolation, develop social skills, and increase self-confidence

Moreover, the role of the board of directors in defining strategies and promoting best practices can be applied to various industries, including engineering projects and scientific research. Overall, the outcomes for this paper underscore the importance of good governance practices in fostering organizational success and promoting a holistic view of operations.     Role of digital knowledge in employees’ capacity building in the Jordanian telecommunications companies

    The main objective was to define whether the usage of the digital knowledge can be useful in employees’ capacity enhancement in the Jordanian telecommunications companies. The research study employed the descriptive analytical approach, and the study sample included the employees in Jordanian telecommunications companies, 250 in number. Thus, the researcher used a sample that was random and was given a hundred and sixty administrators. The research tool was an online survey, the respondents of which were contacted through e-mail and (114) questionnaires were returned for statistical processing. However, the researcher applied some statistics, which include the inflation coefficients test of variance, the skewness coefficients, and the one-way ANOVA analysis. More specifically, the independent variable which includes the tech knowledge was deemed of great importance ranging from (4.22- 4.33) with the mean of the three projects at (4.26). The second highest mean pertained to the variable of the “knowledge creation and acquisition” the scores of which were set at (4.33). The analysis also indicated that the dimensions of the dependent variable namely employees’ capacity obtained a high importance score of (4.20-4.22) with a mean score of (4.21) while the variable of sensing capacity received a mean score of (4.22) Taking the lowest score was the focusing capacity mean score of (4.20). The study also noted the acceptance of the main hypothesis and its three sub-hypotheses as indicated by the findings. The study therefore suggests the need to work on popularizing digital culture among the employees and training and developing their skills to meet the requirement of digital knowledge to enable them to manage its ever evolving nature without resorting to programmers since it is integral to the business

    Implementing lean six sigma in developing operational strategies for industrial companies in Jordan

    The objective of this study was to assess the consequences of Lean Six Sigma implementation on the development of operational strategies in Jordanian industrial companies, as perceived by senior management and different divisions. To achieve these objectives, an analytical descriptive approach was used to gather data from 42 industrial companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange. This approach was used to measure the impact of Lean Six Sigma implementation on the development of operational strategies in these companies, utilizing the appropriate measurement methods., with the distribution of (350) The researcher retrieved (320) questionnaire, and Found that there were (15) invalid questionnaire for the analysis of distributed Questionnaires, where the final number of questionnaires (305), To address the research questions and verify its hypotheses, We utilized suitable statistical tools with SPSS software. The study yielded several important results, the most notable being a significant statistical impact of Lean Six Sigma implementation on the development of operational strategies in industrial companies. The study suggested various initiatives, notably emphasizing the importance for senior management in Jordanian industrial companies to explore Six Sigma support for implementation, along with regular training sessions for staff on quality improvement methods

    Simulation of the energy model of a rural house located in a cold climate using an in-situ monitoring system

    The energy simulation of buildings is presented as a tool to analyze the comfort, consumption and energy efficiency of buildings, however, the discrepancy between simulated models and real data has been a constant, for this reason, energy model calibrations are performed to increase the reliability of the predictions of the simulation. This research carried out the simulation and calibration of the energy model of a rural house, located in a cold climate at more than 3000 meters above sea level, the study was developed in three phases, starting with the monitoring of climatological variables, followed by the energy modeling and finally, the calibration of the model is achieved by applying the iterative and scatter plot methods, allowing the selection of a model where a sequence of linear data was observed, with a strong relationship of more than 80% accuracy between the monitored data and the simulated energy model

    Advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology have led to the strengthening of traditional systems\u27 cybersecurity capabilities in a variety of applications. However, these embedded machine learning models have exposed these systems to a new set of vulnerabilities known as AI assaults. These systems are now attractive targets for cyberattacks, jeopardizing the security and safety of bigger systems that include them. As a result, DL approaches are critical to transitioning network and system protection from providing safe communication between systems to intelligence systems in security. Federated learning (FL) is a new kind of AI based on heterogeneous datasets and decentralized training. FL is a unique research topic that is currently in its early phases. It has not yet gained wide acceptance in the community, owing mostly to privacy and security considerations. In this research, we first shed light on its privacy and security risks that must be discovered, analyzed, and recorded. FL is favored in scenarios where privacy and security are paramount issues. An extensive understanding of risk factors allows an FL adopter and implementer to construct a safe environment successfully while giving researchers a clear perspective of possible study domains. The survey in this paper intends to include an analysis of cybersecurity and DL approaches and modern advances to improve enhanced protection methods. It proposes a complete examination of FL\u27s security and privacy issues to assist in bridging the gap between the current level of federated AI and a future in which broad adoption is achievable. We also propose a range of cybersecurity datasets and the most recently used rating standards.&nbsp

    Assessment of the quality of curricula and educational technologies in vocational education in Ukraine in accordance with modern labor market requirements

    The objective of this study is to assess the quality of curricula and educational technologies in vocational education in Ukraine, with a particular emphasis on aligning them with the demands of the current labor market. The aim of the study is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of these curricula and provide recommendations for their improvement to increase the competitiveness of students in the labor market. The principal research methods utilized in this study were an analysis of the regulatory framework and content analysis of scientific publications. The results of the study show that the modern labor market significantly affects both the content of educational programs and the criteria for assessing the quality of educational technologies. The relevance of curricula to labor market needs is increasingly becoming a key criterion for the effectiveness of education. Additionally, international quality assessment approaches are being widely adopted. Consequently, the effectiveness of quality assessment in curricula and educational technologies is grounded in a combination of labor market analysis and international best practices in education quality evaluation
