Psychological stress of young dietitians working in hospitals
Get PDFAim: Although the stress levels of medical doctors and nurses have often been studied, those of hospital registered dietitians （HRDs） have not. In the present study, we examined the levels of psychological stress of young HRDs in comparison with registered dietitians working at places other than hospitals（other registered dietitians; ORDs）.
Methods: The subjects were 343 female registered dieticians （RDs） who graduated from Yasuda Women’s University in Hiroshima. The questionnaires were sent to them by mail. The General Health Questionnaire 30 （GHQ-30） was used to evaluate their levels of psychological stress. Their levels of satisfaction with work-life balance（WLB） were also examined.
Results: Of the 343 subjects, 197 returned the questionnaires. Among them, 47 subjects were excluded from the analysis due to missing information. Thus, data from 150 subjects（44 HRDs and 106 ORDs） were used for the analysis. The total GHQ-30 score of HRDs was similar to that reported for other healthcare professionals and was significantly higher than that of ORDs（P = 0.03）. The total GHQ-30 score significantly correlated with the levels of satisfaction with one factor of WLB（personal activities, e.g. hobbies） in HRDs but not in ORDs.
Conclusions: The present study demonstrated for the first time that the stress levels of HRDs are as high as those of other healthcare professionals.departmental bulletin pape

Trends in Research on Support Provided by Healthcare, Medical, and Welfare Institutions to Address Elder Abuse at Home
Get PDFTo classify trends in research on support provided by healthcare, medical, and welfare institutions addressing elder abuse at home in Japan, we examined 105 relevant papers published within the period between 2006 and 2018. There were 4 types of related institutions: medical institutions, administrative bodies in charge of healthcare/welfare services, community-based comprehensive support centers, and care service offices.
Medical institutions tended to detect signs of abuse through their emergency outpatient services, and provide medical support for the elderly with dementia and mental disorders. Administrative bodies in charge of healthcare/welfare services coordinated related institutions and created networks for service use, but their initial response systems to appropriately manage abuse on identifying it had yet to be established. Professionals of community-based comprehensive support centers provided support for residents with self-neglect or refusal of intervention in many cases, and had a sense of difficulty in managing these cases. Employees of care service offices frequently detected signs of abuse, but they found it difficult to judge whether these signs indicate abuse, and accurately recognizing the necessity of consulting/ reporting was their challenge.
In order to identify abuse early and appropriately manage it, it would be important for administrative bodies in charge of healthcare/welfare services and community-based comprehensive support centers to start close collaboration with other related institutions whenever detecting signs of abuse.departmental bulletin pape

The Influence of Different Washing Temperatures on the Quality and Taste of Bean Sprouts

quantity in Japan. In this study, aiming at storage of bean sprouts as long as possible after opening of packaging film at home, we investigated the influence of the washing temperature on the quality and taste of bean sprouts to store them after washing. Standard plate counts,
physical properties, light intensity and color were measured in bean sprouts washed at 25℃ and 50℃, and sensory evaluation was performed after heating. As a result, the difference in washing temperature of bean sprout did not affect the number of viable aerobic bacteria,
physical properties, light intensity and color, but the bean sprouts washed at 50℃ was evaluated to have less bitterness in sensory evaluation. The standard plate counts increased regardless of the washing temperature even though bean sprouts were refrigerated at 4℃
after washing and reached a level of the initial stage of decomposition within 24 hours after the washing. Therefore, it is desirable to use them immediately after washing.departmental bulletin pape

Get PDF読書指導を教室において一斉授業として展開することは難しく，その方法もまだ確立されていない。そこで今回は，中学校における「教室で行うことができる読書指導」に着目し，その具体的な方法として「読書へのアニマシオン」を取り入れた授業を実践した。「読書へのアニマシオン」ならば，生徒が楽しみながら本と関わったり文章を深く読んだりすることができ，「読みのスキーマ」の形成に役立つと考えられる。
検証授業では，集団読書用テキスト（宮部みゆき『チヨ子』）を読んだ後に，生徒個々人で本の内容に関するクイズを考え，持ち寄ったクイズを班で話し合って精選した上で，班対抗のクイズ合戦を行うという活動を取り入れた。本論では，この授業において生徒たちが考えたクイズとアンケート結果を手掛かりに，「読書へのアニマシオン」実践の成果と課題を分析する。departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFアメリカの場合，革命を起こし，市民が統治権力に統治権力が介入し得ない領域を認めさせるという画期的な出来事が起きた。しかし革命後，自分たちは正統な権力を有していると主張するには，その正統性を証明する必要に迫られる。しかし，この証明は「Petitio principii」の詭弁に陥ってしまうことになる。なぜならば，自分達が「正統な代表である」と正統性を証明する前にあたかも正統性が既にあるかのように振る舞わねばならないからである。革命はまさに旧体制からの断絶を記すゆえ，旧体制において正統とされた権力から継承しているわけではないので，新体制の権力の正統性を新旧の断絶を前提にした上で証明しなければならないという難題を引き受けねばならないのである。その結果，正統化の理由付けは常に過剰なものとなってしまう。戦後，日本も旧体制から新体制に移行したのだが，旧体制からの離脱を，革命を経験したアメリカの主導の下で行った。それゆえ，この時も「過剰な理想」（山内）が登場するわけだが，歴史を主導し得るような「理想」が登場するのは，まさに，革命後や戦後日本の場合のように，新体制が己の正統性を主張し，過剰な理由付けを行う時なのである。本論考は，現行の憲法に積極的な意味を見出すための着眼点を提供することを目的としている。departmental bulletin pape
