The article tells about the experience of the state budget institution of social services of the Pskov region "Rehabilitation center for children and adolescents with disabilities" from Velikiye Luki in the rehabilitation of children and adolescents aged 0 to 18 years with disabilities in mental and physical development, ensuring their fullest and timely social adaptation to life in society, family, education and work through the organization of mutual assistance groups. The effectiveness of this form of work with a family raising a child with disabilities is shown by teaching parents to understand their children, identify their abilities and needs for their further development. HELPING PROFESSIONS FOR SOCIAL PROGRESS: PERSPECTIVES OF THE GRADUATE STUDENTS
The paper aims to explore how future practitioners in helping professions grasp the wider societal problems and represent their professional practice in terms of social progress. The inquiry illustrates the perspectives of students by triangulation between their understanding of main societal issues in Latvia in the context of national planning documents (NPDs), social capital (SC), and expectations about their future work. Data of 34 first-year graduate students were collected using the open questionnaire and analyzed employing inductive and deductive thematic analysis. The largest group of societal issues contained the socio-psychological problems followed by economic challenges. Only half of the answers concerning SC were in tune with the theoretical conceptualization of this term. The students’ views on societal issues and SC did not align well with the NPDs. The mentioned socio-psychological problems contained the issues of relationship and value aspects of SC, omitting the social networks. One-third of answers in terms of professional expectations were related to the development of SC, other answers focused on the demands of external entities, and the students’ features. The views of graduate students can become an important signpost for the development of graduate programs in times of global interest in core competencies for helping professions
VALUES SUPPORTING THE SUSTAINABILITY OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION IN DIFFERENT PRACTICES
This article analyses how fundamental values underpin educational practices that have emerged in the development of society and create the preconditions for the sustainability of inclusive education. Through the analysis of the scholarly literature, the expression of inclusive values in the application of approaches to integrated, individualised inclusive education and Universal Design for Learning is analysed. It has been established that the effectiveness of inclusive education is substantiated in practices which are based on real existing inclusive values: equity, equality, communality and respect for diversity. Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that the sustainability of inclusive education coincides with the real existence of inclusive values in practice, equally applying to all students
THE IMPACT OF FAMILY AND INDIVIDUAL FACTORS ON 4TH GRADE STUDENTS’ SELF-CONFIDENCE IN READING LITERACY: RESULTS FROM PIRLS 2016
The self-confidence of a child and an adult is associated with performance and achievement results. It is well-studied, and the correlation has been proved that higher self-efficacy leads to higher achievements and performance, including better performance in reading literacy. It is also known that both a family and a home environment have a tremendous impact on the child’s development and academic performance. This article focuses on the 4thgraders and their family factor impact on the development of a child’s self-confidence and concepts related to self-confidence.The purpose of this article is to define concepts that are closely related to self-confidence and to identify family factors that influence students’ self-confidence. The research question is as follows: which family and individual factors impact students’ self-confidence in reading?Authors of the article used a linear regression and correlation analysis of the data from the IEA’s PIRLS 2016 study. The data from Latvia and seven countries of comparison were analysed. The results of data analysis showed that, in general, the 4th graders’ self-confidence in reading literacy is higher if they come from a household where a computer or a tablet with Internet connection is available and if students like to chat using a mobile device. Parents’ attitudes to reading and the students’ readiness for 1st grade promote higher self-confidence as well.

BRIDGING THE CITY: CONNECTING ART, PERFORMANCE DESIGN, ENVIRONMENT AND EDUCATION
This study explores knotworks and networks within art, participatory performance design, the environment and education specialists and institutions within the case-project “Nomadic Radical Academy”, realised in 2019 and 2020. The novelty of the research lies in its investigation of how international collaborations impact the performance pedagogy project at the local level. The project bridged a wide spectrum of actors in order to design an interactive space and participatory infrastructure involving a diverse variety of stakeholders. The projects were created by the author of this paper and involved the art venue Gallery Meno Parkas in Kaunas, local Kaunas schools and environment-friendly local art initiatives, families in Kaunas, Kaunas Municipality, The Lithuanian Council for Culture, a performance designer and international artists from the Baltic-Nordic region. The author created the performative milieu in the gallery space with the intention of educating children and young people about the environment and climate change through performance pedagogy methods. The research question is as follows: How are the knotworks and networks created during the planning and realisation of the international performance pedagogy project, and how do they target the local community and influence projects locally in real-time? The study materials were collected by arts-based methods and analysed by utilising reflexive research. The data collected during the planning and implementation phases are the author’s notes and reflections, notes from feedback and discussions with the involved artists and photos and videos. This research can be valuable to educators, performance designers and artists interested in knotwork- and network-building. This research focused on the planning and realisation of the project by involving international performance professionals in site-specific projects designed for local communities.

CRITERIA AND INDICATORS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF MUSICIAN’S TIMBRE HEARING
Musical practice constantly lays down requirements to a musician’s hearing. An important tendency of a contemporary musical thinking is the intensification of the timbral beginning, which now starts to come to the foreground as one of the most significant expressive and form-developing means. Timbre hearing is one type of harmonic hearing (Teplov, 1947) and one of the most essential components at teaching a contemporary musician’s hearing, though in the teaching practice it has not been adequately reflected as yet. The development of the ability of hearing to perceive the expressive sense of a timbre sounding is a vital condition for achieving professionalism in a musician’s musical-performing activity. The precondition for a successful development of musical hearing, including that of timbre, is the process of diagnosticating its actual developmental level, which will help a teacher to organize a student’s musically-practical activity. The paper offers criteria and indicators for identifying the developmental level of musician’s timbre hearing.Research Aim: to study the theoretical basis of timbre hearing and to develop criteria and indicators of its development.Research methods: monitoring, modelling.
