The recognition and development of the rights of transgender people raises various problems, one of which is their possibility to participate in sports. The aim of the article is to identify and analyze the issues of transgenders’ participation in sports, reviewing possible ways of solving them. There used such research methods as analysis of new scientific literature and legal documents, qualitative content and comparative analysis, historical analysis. Study showed that international sports organizations and research bodies do not have a unanimous view how to ensure transgender rights to participate in sports with equality and fairness. New scientific researches may help to change this unclear and ambivalent position as well as established legal regulations and a unified policy of states in this area can help to solve such problems.
COMPETENCE OF THE HEAD OF AN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION AND ITS MANAGEMENT POSSIBILITIES IN COVID-19 CONDITIONS
Competence of the head of an educational institution and its management During the Covid-19 pandemic, a large number of different legal acts and measures are required. They require a large amount of diligence and immediate action in the application of new regulations. All innovations require regular reporting on progress, thus adding to the workload of staff. The results of the research show that a modern school principal does not have enough only pedagogical competences, but at the same time must be both a leader who guides the team towards the goal, and a manager with a strategic vision, the ability to plan and implement these plans, in addition, one must be able to navigate legal acts and their application. The aim of the research: to study the competence of the head of an educational institution and its management possibilities in the conditions of COVID-19. Research tasks: to study the normative regulation of the education system; to perform the analysis of the competence of the head of the educational institution in the conditions of COVID-19; to study the impact of the measures and restrictions introduced by COVID-19 on the management context of the educational institution; summarization and analysis of the obtained survey data. Research methods: scientific literature, internet sources, documents and statistical data research, data processing and analysis of the results of the survey data.
MOBILITY PACKAGE IN LITHUANIAN LOGISTICS
Over the past few years, there have been significant changes in the logistics sector. New regulations of commercial road transport at the European Union level have been released. Hundreds of cargo transports are carried out by road transport every day. The study shows that these rules aim to ensure a balance between the social security of drivers and the freedom of operators to provide cross-border transport services. Although, the changes also caused a lot of conflicting thoughts. Therefore, this article attempts to reveal the benefits/harms and impact on businesses of introducing a Mobility package
THE OPPORTUNITIES OFFERED BY THE COMMON AGRICULTURAL POLICY IN THE USE OF TECHNOLOGIES IN THE PRODUCTION PROCESS OF THE FARMS “MEŽROZE”
Cereal cultivation is an important branch of crop production and many farms are specialized in this field. In the planning period of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023-2027. much attention has been paid to the sustainability of agriculture. That is why farms should look for new technologies and solutions to treat the soil more gently apply plant protection products and fertilizers more precisely
ASSESSMENT OF SOLAR ENERGY PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION
Purpose and aim of the study: The present research aims to investigate and assess the production and consumption of solar energy. Design / Methodology / Approach: The research employed the following methods: descriptive and logical construction were used for reviewing and analysing research papers and other information sources, as well as for scientific discussion. Statistical analysis was employed to process and analyse secondary data on trends in the use of solar panel systems in the world and in Latvia. The graphic method was applied to better represent and compare the research results.Main Findings: It was concluded that the share of solar energy in the world tended to increase significantly. However, Latvia lagged far behind the neighbouring countries in terms of solar energy generation and was in last place in the entire European Union in terms of total installed capacity of solar panel systems. In Latvia, a significant increase in solar energy consumption could be observed from 2022. Originality: The research examined the technology of generating solar energy and factors in the output of solar energy, summarized information on trends in solar energy consumption in Latvia and the world and identified the role of solar energy in Latvia by comparing the share of solar energy consumption with the share of consumption of other renewable energy sources and the situation in neighbouring countries and the world.Implications: The present research represents the basis for further research on solar energy production and consumptio
DEVELOPMENT OF COMPUTER-BASED DIAGNOSTIC ASSESSMENT SYSTEM: CASE STUDY OF EQUIVALENCE OF PAPER-AND-PENCIL AND COMPUTER-BASED TESTING
In the last two decades computer-based assessment has become an important part in support of teaching and learning. It is seen as a solution to implement assessment for learning in school and provide immediate feedback on students’ performance in real-time. Research literature on computer-based assessment suggests that every measurement instrument developer before implementation of a test has to provide evidence that computer-based and paper-based versions are equivalent and provide consistent measures. There is a risk that properties of computer-based assessment including unfamiliarity with the system and proficiency level of digital skills can seriously affect students’ performance. This paper focuses on computer-based diagnostic assessment system designed to support numeracy and literacy teaching and learning. The aim of this study is to confirm that literacy and numeracy learning measurement instruments elaborated in diagnostic assessment system provide consistent results as paper-based versions of both instruments. Data were collected administering four tests. Two of the assessments were computer-based literacy and numeracy diagnostic assessments and two were paper-based versions. By analyzing both versions of assessments using various statistical techniques we explore differences in students’ performance. Our results showed that at this development phase of the computer-based diagnostic assessment system the students who completed computer-based test versions showed similar or better performance than their counterparts who completed paper-based versions
THE IMPACT OF THE MOBILITY PACKAGE ON ROAD TRANSPORT COMPANIES IN LITHUANIA AND LATVIA
Throughout the years, there have been several changes made in logistics sphere and until this day it does not stop. One of the novelties was the Mobility package. It is known that many freights are being carried out by road transport as we are reading this, so it is very clear that new regulations hold a huge impact on transport companies. The research shows that introduction of Mobility package made drastic changes to European Union road transport rules and regulations. It aims to improve safety and working conditions for drivers and to ensure that the entire sector operates on a level playing field. CIRCULAR ECONOMY STRATEGIES FOR REDUCING FOOD WASTE IN SCHOOLS: A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW
Purpose and aim of the study: As the transition to a circular economy (CE) and the reduction of food waste is a priority strategic goal for policy planning at global and European Union (EU) level, but food waste in catering has become a major sustainability issue, the aim of the paper is to identify CE strategies to reducing food waste in schools based on a systematic literature review.Design / Methodology / Approach: The research employed qualitative methods: five-step systematic literature review methodology by Denyer & Tranfield, (2009), analysis and synthesis, as well as the monographic method. The literature was selected using the databases Google Scholar, MDPI, ScienceDirect and Scopus.Main Findings: Based on the systematic literature review, approaches for implementing CE strategies to reduce food waste in school canteens were discovered.Originality: This study provides a new perspective on the implementation of CE “R strategies” to reduce food waste in schools.Implications: The results of the study can be a basis for school and canteen administration to implement CE policies and waste management practices that will promote responsible food consumption and support sustainable food consumption and waste reduction strategies, and create added value for school canteens, the environment and society in general
