Alternative Hosts for Chytrid Fungus: A Biological Literature Review
This reflection examines my summer research experience contributing to a collaborative review project on the chytrid fungus epidemic in amphibians. My role centered on systematically analyzing and synthesizing data from published experiments, with the goal of supporting the team’s effort to publish a review paper on alternative hosts of the fungus. While I entered the project expecting to primarily strengthen my analytical and critical thinking skills, the experience highlighted unanticipated weaknesses in organization and communication. Specifically, my tendency to overcommit to tasks and delay sharing progress created challenges in a collaborative context, prompting a reevaluation of how my work habits affect group momentum. This paper reflects on the technical skills I developed, the personal growth that arose from confronting these challenges, and the broader implications for my future in research

In summer 2025, I interned at Cradles to Crayons, a Boston-based nonprofit that supports children experiencing clothing insecurity. As an English major seeking corporate and community engagement experience, I contributed to outreach efforts, compiled over 300 potential partner contacts, and gained skills in tools like Excel and Salesforce. The supportive and fast-paced environment pushed me out of my comfort zone, helping me grow in confidence, communication, and professionalism.
