    No full text
This summer, I was accepted into the Forest Foundation’s fellowship program and interned with CitySprouts, a garden education nonprofit based out of Cambridge, MA that provides free programs throughout the school year and the summer to children attending Cambridge Public Schools (CPS) or Boston Public Schools (BPS). In this reflection, I describe the application process, provide a background of the work that CitySprouts does, and reflect on my experiences designing curriculum for CitySprouts’ summer program and working directly with students in the classroom and the garden. I also describe the other components of the Forest Foundation fellowship, which included a workshop series and a grant-writing group project, and discuss our success in winning a $5,000 grant for a nonprofit called Partakers. Overall, this was a fulfilling opportunity that strengthened my preexisting interest in working in education with the middle school age group while broadening my awareness of the nonprofits present in the greater Boston area

Summer Intern at the P.L.A.Y Project

    No full text
This paper reflects on my summer internship at The P.L.A.Y Project. My responsibilities included assisting with a feasibility paper by editing, formatting in APA style, preparing references and tables, and identifying potential journals for submission. In addition, I shadowed professionals such as a speech pathologist and an occupational therapist, which provided valuable insights into different career paths. The internship allowed me to strengthen key workplace skills, including communication, organization, and time management, while also expanding my professional network. Although the primarily virtual format limited my experience of day-to-day office work, it gave me meaningful opportunities to apply academic knowledge, develop professional confidence, and explore possible directions for my future career

Intern at the Connecticut Judicial Branch

    No full text
In the fall of 2024, I interned with the Connecticut Judicial Branch in the New London Judicial District’s Family Clerk’s Office. Although my primary placement was in family court, the Chief Clerk encouraged me to explore other areas within the district. As a result, I gained experience in criminal, civil, and family court while frequently shadowing employees across departments. This exposure afforded me valuable insight into how different offices and departments collaborate on each individual case. I found this experience to be especially meaningful as it provided me with a foundational understanding of courtroom procedures, professional interactions with judges and magistrates, and some of the key qualities that contribute to effective argument across court jurisdictions
