    Coffee is an important agricultural product that makes a major contribution to the Indonesian economy. In other words, as a source of farmers' income, job creation, foreign exchange earner, industrial product producer, and development. The problem with the upstream coffee farming industry is that the productivity level of Indonesian coffee is lower compared to other major coffee producing countries in the world. This study aims to determine the production factors that affect coffee production/harvest, the factors that affect the income of farmers and the factors that determine the increase in the feasibility of coffee cultivation on Mount Puntang. This research method uses descriptive analytic method with a qualitative approach. From the results of multiple regression analysis of the coffee production/yield of the Gunung Puntang farmers, the following equation is obtained, coffee production/yield. For the results of multiple linear regression analysis for the income of Gunung Puntang coffee farmers, it is obtained, where the variable number of trees (X2) and theta cost (X3) have an effect on coffee production/yields. For the feasibility of coffee farming, this farming business is feasible

    Percobaan ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari komposisi media tanaman paling baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pakcoy. Percobaan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus sampai September 2020, di Lahan Percobaan Universitas Winaya Mukti, Sumedang. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam percobaan ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok sederhana, terdiri dari Komposisi Media Tanam tanah berbanding pupuk kandang ayam berbanding pupuk kandang domba dengan 5 taraf perlakuan yang diulang sebanyak 5 kali sehingga terdapat 25 unit perlakuan, yaitu A = (Kontrol), B = 1:1:1, C = 2:1:1, D = 3:1:1, dan E = 4:1:1. Perlakuan komposisi media tanam D = 3:1:1 memberikan pengaruh paling baik terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, bobot basah dan bobot kering.Â

    Field experiments were carried out in Nangklong village, Maripari village, Cibatu sub district, Garut district with an altitude of 764 m above sea level from September 2020 to November 2020. The purpose of this experiment was to study the growth and yield of several varieties of cauliflower (brasica olercea var. bathysl.) in the middle plains. The experiment was conducted using a randomized block design with 5 replications. The treatments consisted of: A (Bima 45), B (Kaila), C (PM 126), D (Provita) and E (Aquina). The experimental results showed that the growth and yield of several varieties of cauliflower were different in the middle plains. The Bima 45 variety showed higher growth and yield of cauliflower compared to other varieties in the middle plains. The Bima 45 variety produced a cabbage weight of 20.68 kg plot1 or equivalent to 40.17 tons ha1

    The demand for beef for consumption by the Indonesian people, which is increasing every year, is met through the production of local meat and imported meat. The government's efforts through the meat self-sufficiency program encourage the private sector to increase the beef cattle population by bringing in imported cattle. The physical condition of a larger cow will produce a lot of meat. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors of race, weight, price and sex of cattle correlated with carcass weight. The research method used is descriptive verification method with a quantitative approach. Variables calculated include nation, body weight, price, sex and carcass weight of cattle. To determine the relationship between the variables, the analysis used was parametric and non-parametric analysis. The results of the study based on the ANOVA test showed that the breed of cattle to the average carcass weight was significantly different (P <0.05), so it needed to be tested further using Tamhane. The results showed that heifer and bull cattle were not significantly different from carcass weight. Gender was not significantly different from carcass weight (P<0.05), cattle prices were significantly different from carcass weight (P>0.05) and cattle body weight was not significantly different. significantly to carcass weight (P<0.05).Â

    Pruning lateral branches is an effort to increase the growth and yield of cucumber plants. The research was conducted with the aim of obtaining pruning of lateral branches at the best age for the growth and yield of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) Etha 87 F1 variety. The experiment was carried out at the Agricultural Extension Center located in Sukamahi Village, Kec. Central Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java. This experiment was carried out from June to August 2022. This research method used the Single Factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) experimental method with 7 treatments and 4 replicates to obtain 28 experimental units, the treatments consisted of: P0 (Control, without pruning), P1 (Pruning lateral branches 1-6 at 28 dap), P2 (Pruning lateral branches 1-6 at 35 dap), P3 (Pruning lateral branches 1-6 at 42 dap), P4 (Pruning lateral branches 7-12 age 28 dap), P5 (Pruning lateral branches of segments 7-12 aged 35 dap), and P6 (Pruning of lateral branches of segments 7-12 aged 42 dap). The results of this study indicated that pruning of lateral branches had a significant effect on the parameters of number of leaves, number of fruits, and fruit weight per plant. The P0 treatment gave the highest yield on the number of leaves per plant aged 35 hst (37.75 leaves) and 42 hst (38.75 leaves). The P4 treatment gave the number of fruits which was 5.17 fruits and the fruit weight per plant was 512.71 g/plant

    This study aims to determine the performance of the yield components and the intercropping index of 22 hybrid maize in the maize-soybean intercropping system. This research was carried out in Cikajang, Garut Regency from January 2021 to June 2021. The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive and experimental method. The experimental design used was a randomized block design with 27 treatments made in 3 replications. The genetic material used was 22 test hybrids from the Padjadjaran University collection and 5 commercial hybrids as comparisons. Assessment of yield components was carried out using The Least Significant Increase (LSI) test assessed for 4 yield components consisting of cob diameter, cob length, number of seeds cobs, and dry seed/plant weight. Intercropping index assessment was analyzed based on the calculation of Land Equivalent Ratio (LER), Area Time Equivalent Ratio (ATER), and Aggressivity (A). The results showed that there were 4 hybrids that had high yields in the maize-soybean intercropping system including DRc6 x DRc7, DRc8 X MDRc18.8.1, DRc8 X MDRc1.1.3 and MDRc3.1.4 X MDRc18.5.1. There are 3 profitable hybrids in the intercropping system of soybean maize based on the intercropping index including DRc4 X MDRc7.2.3, DRc8 x DRc9, and MDRc7.4.3 x MDRc18.8.1

    This article aims to determine the potential of epiphytic orchids by exploring, identifying and studying the diversity of epiphytic orchids. The method used is exploration and sampling using purposive sampling with an exploratory area of 3,300 m2. Found 1037 individuals from 18 species obtained 14 genera. The highest density value is the species Dendrobium mutabile with a value of 0.0785 individuals/m2 and a relative density of 24.9759%. Dendrobium mutabile had the highest frequency value of 7.8485 and a relative frequency of 24.9759% which was found in 22 out of 30 plots. The Importance Value Index obtained the highest value for the orchid species Dendrobium mutabile with an IVI value of 499,518, thus it can be said that Dendrobium mutabile dominates. There were 12 host trees encountered during the exploration, namely (Tectona grandis), (Arenga pinnata), (Pinus merkusii), (Ficus benjamin), (Alstonia scholaris), (Coffee canephora pierrakoppi), (Ceiba pentandra), (Swietenia macrophylla), (Mangifera foetida), (Syzygium aromaticum), (Citrus hystrix), (Cocos nucifera L)

    Rice is a staple food source for the majority of Indonesian, so the availability of ready-to-plant rice seeds is absolutely necessary. However, the continuity supply of quality rice seeds can be hampered by dormancy. The seed dormancy period can be broken by chemical methods, one of which is using a KNO3 solution. This study aimed to study the interaction of soaking time and KNO3 concentration on viability and vigor of rice seeds. This research were conducted at the BPSBTPH Laboratory Region 1 Cianjur. The research methodology used is a factorial randomized block design (RCBD) consisting of two factors and repeated 4 times. The first factor is the length of soaking time which consists of three levels, namely the duration of soaking 1 day, 2 days and 3 days and the second factor which consists of three levels, namely the concentration of KNO3 2%, 3% and 4% so as to produce 9 treatment combinations. The results showed that there was no interaction in all the observation parameters, both on viability and vigor of the seeds. However, independently, the 1 day soaking time factor (l1) gave the best effect on germination, germination height and vigor index, the 2-day soaking time (12) treatment gave the best effect on growth speed and root length, while the 2% concentration of (k1) gave the best effect on germination and growth speed on the first day of observation

    As time goes by and human efforts to plant and expand new superior species cause local species that are very diverse to be suppressed resulting in decline (inbreeding depression), even genetic drift. one of the local species is banana Roid from Jatigede District. Roid banana is allowed to grow wild without any special care from the local community. The purpose of this study is to identify the potential genetic diversity of local varieties of Roid banana (Musa spp.) in Jatigede District. This research will be conducted in November 2021 – January 2023 in three villages located in Jatigede Sub-district, namely Ciranggem Village, Jemah Village, and Mekarasih Village. The research was conducted using a descriptive method through exploration and characterization that refers to descriptors. Determination of the sample location was done by purposive sampling. Based on the results of the study, Jatigede Sub-district has a wide genetic diversity and distant kinship between Roid banana species. Characters that contribute to inter accession diversity are midrib width (LPt), bunch diameter (DTn), and pseudostem length (PPs). Accession MS1.3 was selected as a superior accession with the characters of the number of combs per bunch, leaf blade width 71-80 cm, leaf blade length 171-220 cm, and the number of rhizomes > 5 tillers.
