    Difficulties in Launching Digitization at Museums: The Case of Lithuanian Municipal Museums

    Digital technologies are inseparable from museum practices but working on them from scratch has not been well studied. This study explores the difficulties of digitization in 54 Lithuanian municipal museums. The complete questionnaire (N=50) on the targeted museums was conducted in 2017, which aimed to gain empirical data on digitization. Responses to free-text questions in the questionnaire revealed the difficulties of digitization. Faulty equipment, lack of competency, and increased workload were difficulties for personnel; a lack of equipment, personnel, and structural reform due to inadequate funds were institutional challenges. The analysis indicates the first three phases of digitization obstacles in museums: the accomplishment of the minimum requirements, pursuit of quantity, and attempts at better quality

We found that for an Earth of equal radius and therefore equal volume, and not considering orbital velocity, the orbital radius of the Moon would increase from 384,000km to 1.98*10^6km

    The majority of houses use gas boilers to heat them up. This paper looks into an alternative method of heating up one room in a house. This paper investigates how many tea light candles it would take to heat up an empty room with a volume of 63.2 m3 by 5◦C as a potential alternative. We found that the total number of lit tea light candles it would take to achieve this in 15 minutes was 5 in a 100% insulated room.

    This paper will discuss the possibility of using electromagnetic phenomena to levitate the author of this paper by inducing a safe and non-lethal current through her. It is found that if the current is at a non-lethal level, then the magnetic field required for levitation is 1670 T and if the current is safe, then the magnetic field needed is 3.33×108 T. Both of these magnetic fields are far larger than those available on Earth with current technology. However, by investigating magnetic levitation using a superconductor, the magnetic field strength required is minimised to 0.0457 T

    This paper investigates the difference in time it would take to cook multiple common food items from a roast meal in an ’Easy Bake’ Oven, opposed to a standard kitchen oven. We found that when cooking a 1.00kg chicken and 1.00kg of roast potatoes it saved the chef 31.0mins and 5.60mins, respectively. However, due to the size of an Easy Bake Oven and the practicality of this, the standard kitchen oven continues to be the ’Easy’ way to cook a Sunday roast

    This paper discusses the energy required to hit a table tennis/ping pong ball out of the Earths atmosphere, to Pluto and back. The findings of this paper concludes that the kinetic energy needed to get the ball out of Earth’s atmosphere is 169kJ and 1.98kJ for the ball to leave Pluto’s atmosphere. This is compared to the kinetic energy transferred into a ping pong ball when being used normally on Earth (1.40 × 10^−3kJ)

It is found that Venus has the smallest centripetal force, while Earth has the largest centripetal force. For all the planets the centripetal force is found to be at a maximum at the equator and decreasing to a minimum at the pole
