    No full text
Islam is a religion that governs all aspects of human life, including politics. Political thought is the intellectual basis in forming a political system to organize the life of the community as well as being the spirit of the administration of the country. In the current political reality in Indonesia, there are still many deviations in political ideology. The issue of secularism and communism against Islam is the biggest cause of injustice and the crisis of the leader's character. As a result, there is often social conflict and injustice in the country's administration. Added to this is the problem of the leader's character, which gives rise to corrupt behaviour, breach of trust, and deviation from religious values. Undeniably, the solution to this problem can be found in Islamic politics. Thus, this study was conducted to examine the political thought of Mohammad Natsir, a famous Islamic political figure in Indonesia. This study has three objectives which are to examine Mohammad Natsir's thought pattern and the factors that influenced the formation of his thought, identify the basic framework of his political thought, and analyse its relevance in the current political framework of Indonesia. This qualitative study uses literature review and in-depth interviews to collect data. While the content analysis method is used to analyse the collected data. The study found that Mohammad Natsir's political thought is very relevant to be implemented in Indonesian politics today because it can provide solutions to the ongoing political problems. This is because Mohammad Natsir has succeeded in laying down the principles of Islamic politics that are appropriate to the context of the political and social life of the Indonesian society which consists of various races, religions, languages and cultures. The essence of Islamic teachings is used as a strategic approach and becomes a point of relevance for his political thought. Thus, this study can give exposure to the parties involved in the political field and also the public about the form of political thinking that can provide solutions to the current political ideology issue in Indonesia

Malaysian Army (MA) military personnel from Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) receive a substantial amount of information and instruction in various aspects of warfare and strategy. The general objective of this study is to identify the factors influencing Safety behaviour among Royal Malay Regiment (RMR) Officers. This study collected data randomly from 565 officers in Malaysia, ranging in rank from Major (Maj) to Captain (Capt) / Lieutenant (Lt) / 2nd Lieutenant (2nd Lt). The sample size for this study was estimated using Krejcie and Morgan (1970), therefore, the sample taken is 234. The researcher administered an online survey by distributing a questionnaire link to all officers and facilitated by 26 Adjutants from all the present 26 units of RMR. Therefore, a total of 179 respondents or 76.4 percent have answered the questionnaire and managed to be collected almost one months. The researcher analysed the collected data using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 26 and for analysis data, the researcher chooses to use descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The mean score for safety behaviour among the RMR Officers is 3.74, interpreted as the level of safety behaviour among the RMR Officer’s presence as moderately high. According to Multiple Regression analysis, there is a significant and positive relationship between Safety communication and feedback, and safety behaviour (β = 0.505, t = 5.349, p < 0.000). Meanwhile, there is no significant relationship between management commitment (β = - 0.037, t = 0.377, p < 0.706), safety training (β = 0.027, t = 0.334, p < 0.739), safety leadership (β = -0.113, t = -1.266, p < 0.207) and safety behaviour. The study of RMR Officers' safety behaviors emphasizes the importance of safety communication and feedback, as the RMR officers receive support from management, and demonstrating vigilance towards potential safety behaviour

Road accidents are one of the most serious risks to public safety worldwide, which includes Malaysia. 1.17 million death worldwide occur each year due to road accidents, 70% of which occur in developing countries in the world. Much research has been conducted in the past to try to figure out what factors contribute to the high incidence of road accidents among these high-risk drivers. However, this study is mostly focused on "irresponsible drivers who use cell phones while driving, drink and drive, break the traffic rules, and have vehicles in poor brake and tire conditions. Other than the environment—the rainy season, the dark environment that leads to road accidents. All these factors contribute to the high rate of road accidents in Malaysia. The purpose of this study was to examine the factors that influence road accidents among Malaysia's young drivers. An online survey form was used to collect the data from the respondents. It is mainly focused on three main factors: the human factor, the environment factor, and the vehicle factor. The study was based on a self-administered questionnaire survey of young Malaysian drivers. Results show that respondents aged 18 to 24 years old made up the largest age group (56.6%). The youngest age group had 32 respondents, or 10.4% of the sample, between the ages of 32 and 38. The frequency result then displays the gender of Malaysia's young drivers. The survey's results show that 205 respondents (66.8%) were female and 72 respondents (23.5%) were male. This study was mainly focused on young Malaysian drivers, between the ages of 18 to 38 years old

Higher derivative block methods of generalised steplength for the direct solution of fuzzy ordinary differential equations

    No full text
Differential equations are useful in modelling various concepts and scenarios. However, when considering the initial or boundary conditions for these differential equation models, the use of fuzzy numbers is more realistic and flexible, as the parameters may vary within a certain range. Such situations are referred as unpredictable circumstances which introduce the concept of uncertainty. Thus, fuzzy derivatives and fuzzy differential equations (FDEs) are used to deal with these situations. Numerical methods are used to provide approximate solutions to differential equations, such as FDEs, in the absence of exact solutions. Conventionally, higher-order fuzzy ordinary differential equations (FODEs) are solved by first reducing the equations to their equivalent systems of first-order FODEs. Then, suitable existing numerical methods for first-order FODEs are employed to solve the resulting systems. This approach results in having more equations and thus increases the computational burden which jeopardises the accuracy of the solution. For this reason, several existing studies have developed numerical methods for the direct solution of FODEs. However, the results obtained possess accuracy that could be improved. Other issues encountered in existing studies that consider the numerical solution of FODEs include the methods being non self-starting, not solving both fuzzy initial value problems (FIVPs) and fuzzy boundary value problems (FBVPs), and the absence of a generalised form for the developed numerical methods. Therefore, to overcome these problems, this study developed more accurate higher derivative self -starting block methods with generalised steplength for the direct numerical solution of FODEs. A linear block approach using Taylor series expansion is adopted for the derivation of the block methods with the presence of two higher derivatives terms. Investigations on the order, error constant, zero-stability, consistency, convergence, and region of absolute stability of the new block methods with the presence of two higher derivatives were also conducted, and the developed new block methods satisfied all convergence properties in the fuzzy form successfully. To investigate the accuracy, the developed block methods were employed to solve both FIVPs and FBVPs considered in the literature. The numerical results confirmed the superiority of the new methods over the existing methods when solving the same test problems in terms of absolute errors. In conclusion, this study has successfully developed self -starting and efficient block methods in solving FODEs directly

The United Arab Emirates is one of the world's leaders in Islamic banking. The industry has grown in recent years thanks to well-organized Islamic financial institutions and Islamic financial products that adhere to Islamic Shariah provisions. This study discusses murabahah-based Islamic residential real estate financing products, as well as leases that end in ownership and exclusion. These are products governed by contracts that connect Islamic financial institutions and consumers. The goals of this research are to (1) Examine Islamic financial products in the UAE, (2) investigate legal issues found by consumers in Islamic financial products in the UAE, and (3) make recommendations and improvements to Islamic residential property financing products to protect the consumers in the UAE. This study used qualitative methodology and was based on direct interviews with stakeholders such as government officials from the UAE Central Bank, municipal departments, land and property departments, and property regulatory institutions. In addition to staff of Islamic financial institutions, internal and external Shariah bodies, and users of Islamic residential real estate financing products as primary sources, official and legal reports and general and specialised books, research, government publications, academic journals, newspaper articles, and Internet resources are used. This study concludes that there is no comprehensive legislation regulating the work of Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, which is the source of many problems and issues affecting banking, including a lack of consumer confidence in Islamic banking products in the UAE. This study makes recommendations to legislators and regulators to increase consumer confidence in Islamic financial institutions, as well as to consumers to broaden their knowledge and behaviour in Islamic banking operation

Waiting time perceived is how long people think they have had to wait for a service. People waiting for public transportation are more likely to think they have to wait longer than they actually do, especially when they don't have access to traffic data in real time. Nevertheless, there are an amount of concerns involving with public transportation services and limited numbers of studies in Malaysia have investigated waiting time perception. Hence, the aim of this study discussed about the effects of Socio-demographic characteristics and trip characteristics on the waiting time perception of public transport in Malaysia. This involved determining two relationships, which are the relationship between waiting time perception and Socio-demographic characteristics; and the relationship between waiting time perception and trip characteristics. The research study was conducted in Northern States of Malaysia (Penang, Kedah, Perlis, Perak) with an estimated 196 respondents making up the sample size. Descriptive analysis and Multiple Regression Analysis (MRA) were used to test the hypotheses and figure out which factors were the most important for the research model. Based on the analysis results, it revealed that trip characteristics is significantly associated to waiting time perception. It shows that greater level of trip characteristics contributes to greater level of waiting time perception. The results of the research showed that there is no significant relationship between Socio-demographic characteristics and waiting time perception

    No full text
Empirical research suggests that perceptions of abusive supervision are driven by subordinate characteristics rather than supervisor behavior. Although many studies have focused on the impact of specific supervisors' characteristics, fewer have concentrated on specific subordinate characteristics and organizational interventions to activate abuse-controlling mechanisms. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the impact of subordinate personality traits and organizational sanction norms on perceptions of abusive supervision. Conceptualizing turnover intention as a challenging outcome of abusive supervision that most employees quit jobs because of supervisors' bad behavior. Further, the impact of the performance promotion motive as a moderator tested the relationship between abusive supervision and turnover intention. More specifically, the research investigated the mediating effect of perceptions of abusive supervision on the relationship between personality traits, organizational sanction norms, and turnover intention. A questionnaire was developed to collect the data using a sample of 261 salespersons working in Pakistan's food and beverage companies. The stratified random sampling technique was used based on a cross-sectional design and obtained responses from individual employees. The data was analyzed using the PLS path modeling, and the results support the proposed model and several hypotheses. The findings indicate that the three personality traits of extraversion, conscientiousness, and neuroticism are important predictors of abusive supervision and that organizational sanction norms also impact perceptions of abusive supervision. The results reveal that perceptions of abusive supervision mediate the relationship between extraversion, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and turnover intention. This study also indicates that the performance promotion motive moderates the relationship between abusive supervision and turnover intention. The study offers theoretical and practical contributions. This study also highlights the importance of minimizing the propensity of abusive supervision. Lastly, the limitations and suggestions for further studies are also provide
