Knowledge, attitude and training toward fire emergency safety preparedness among a Public School staff in Kedah
Fire emergency safety preparedness measures in educational institutions are very important to reduce losses and damage due to fire. Since fire can happen at any time, itis important for all parties concerned to maintain a constant state of vigilance in theschool. Therefore, the main objective of this research paper is to examine therelationship between the knowledge, attitudes, and training possessed by staff working in public schools in the state of Kedah towards Fire Emergency Safety Preparedness. Researchers use quantitative methods through surveys to collect data. The study sampleconsisted of all staff at SMK XYZ, both academic staff and support staff. The total staff of SMK XYZ is 140 people. The estimated sample size for this study was based on Krejcie and Morgan's (1970) minimum sample size of 103 respondents, and the total usable questionnaire for this study was 124. Data analysis was performed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 27. The researcher used descriptive analysis. and inference. The results of the demographic analysis show that
there is a large male population, comprising 63.7 percent of respondents, 80.6 percent of whom are classified as regular academic teachers, and the majority of respondents are within 9–10 hours of the school premises. Based on inference analysis, it can be concluded that there is no statistically significant relationship between knowledge and fire emergency safety preparedness (β = -0.078, t = -0.867, p < 0.388), as well as no significant correlation between fire emergency safety attitude and preparedness (β = 0.121, t = 1.076, p < 0.284). However, a significant positive relationship exists between training and fire emergency safety preparedness (β = 0.351, t = 3.143, p < 0.002). Because training and fire emergency safety preparedness have a meaningful relationship, the school and related parties need to conduct training related to fire emergency safety preparedness because, for respondents, training is the most important thing in fire emergency safety preparedness. In addition, improvements also need to be made for knowledge and attitude so that respondents are also aware that a person's knowledge and attitude are important for fire emergency safety preparedness
A greedy heuristics multiple criteria model for solving multi-landfill site selection and plant propagation algorithm for improving waste collection vehicle routing solutions
This research focuses on two solid waste management (SWM) problems, particularly the landfill site selection problem (LSSP) and the waste collection vehicle routing problem (WCVRP). Solving LSSP involves the evaluation of multiple criteria to determine the best landfill location. Whereas WCVRP involves, the construction of vehicle routes for collecting waste from customers and discharging their loads at the landfills with the minimum total distance travelled. However, there are two main issues with the existing LSSP and WCVRP models. First, previous models focused only on a single landfill site based on the highest score without considering the operational costs criterion in solving LSSP. Second, the Plant Propagation Algorithm (PPA) has never been considered to solve WCVRP. Thus, this research proposes a greedy heuristics multiple criteria model which includes operational costs for solving multi-LSSP and develops PPA for improving WCVRP solutions. First, the importance levels of LSSP criteria including the operational cost criterion were determined by using a modified analytical hierarchy process. Then, a multiple criteria greedy heuristic model was proposed to construct WCVRP solutions and to find a new landfill site(s) with the minimum total operational costs. Moreover, the WCVRP solutions were improved by using PPA. Both models were tested on a WCVRP benchmark problem and a case-based scenario in Kubang Pasu, Kedah. Five candidate landfill sites were considered. The results revealed that a single landfill site (Candidate 4) was the best solution for the case-based scenario, with a 6.74% reduction in total distance travelled. As for multiple landfills, Candidates 3 and 4 were the best alternative sites. Nonetheless, different study areas generated different outputs based on the area's geographical conditions. The WCVRP solutions using PPA are comparable with other best-known solutions on the benchmark problem in terms of total distance travelled and the number of vehicles used. The proposed models were cost-effective and may facilitate the SWM authorities in identifying suitable locations for new landfill site(s) and waste vehicle routes
A data transformation model for relational and non-relational data
The information systems that support small, medium, and large organisations need data transformation solutions from multiple data sources to fulfill the requirements of new applications and decision-making to stay competitive. Relational data is the foundation for the majority of applications programme, whereas non-relational data is the foundation for the majority of newly produced applications. The relational model is the most elegant one; nonetheless, this kind of database has a drawback when it comes to managing very large volumes of data. Because they can handle massive volumes of data, non-relational databases have evolved into relational database substitutes. The key issue is that rules for data transformation processes across various data types are becoming less well-defined, leading to a steady decline in data quality. Therefore, to handle relational and non-relational data and satisfy the requirements for data quality, an empirical model in this domain knowledge is required. This study seeks to develop a data transformation model used for different data sources while satisfying data quality requirements, especially the transformation processes in relational and non-relational model, named Data Transformation with Two ETL Phases and Central-Library (DTTEPC). The different stages and methods in the developed model are used to transform the metadata information and stored data from relational to non-relational systems, and vice versa. The model is developed and validated through expert review, and the prototype based on the final version is employed in two case studies: education and healthcare. The results of the usability test demonstrate that the developed model is capable of transforming metadata data and stored data across systems. So enhancing the information systems in various organizations through data transformation solutions. The DTTEPC model improved the integrity and completeness of the data transformation processes. Moreover, supports decision-makers by utilizing information from various sources and systems in real-time demands
Cybersecurity model for smart city in Indonesia based on actor-network theory
The development of information and communication technology has spread throughout the world, including Indonesia. There are many benefits, but the risks cannot be avoided. Communication is growing massively in cyberspace and thus poses a security threat to smart city services. In Indonesia, cybersecurity has not become a priority and is even considered unimportant. Telecommunications equipment and public service application systems do not yet have sufficient security standards. Policies that regulate all aspects as a standard reference for implementing cybersecurity in smart cities are still needed. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose a cybersecurity model in smart cities in Indonesia. In this study, unstructured interviews were conducted as a method for collecting the data. Seven respondents, namely the Director, Head of Cyber and Code Control Section, Head of Operations, and four staff in the Jakarta smart city were chosen as respondents. The initial factors for implementing cybersecurity in Indonesia were identified and analysed qualitatively. Actor-Network Theory (ANT) is used as a theoretical framework to explore the practices of actors involved in implementing cybersecurity in JSC. Moment of translation ANT identified and recommended factors related to cybersecurity. Adapting the Governance Risk and Compliance Model by Jirasek, the identified factors are embedded. In the end, a bureaucracy-based cybersecurity model for smart cities was proposed. The proposed model focuses on people, technology, and process and follows the flow of the government bureaucracy in Indonesia. The bureaucracy-based cybersecurity model for smart cities has three main parts, namely: (1) Cyber Security Stakeholders, (2) Legal Fundamentals of Cyber Security Management, and (3) Security Management. The contributions of this research include (1) critical success factors to guide the development of smart cities with cybersecurity elements, (2) a cybersecurity development model for the government agencies to design and implement cybersecurity in Smart city projects in Indonesia, and (3) evidence that ANT as a useful analytical tool to understand the interaction of social systems and technology, especially related to cybersecurity
Corporate governance and corporate social responsibility disclosure in Indonesia: The moderating effect of foreign ownership
The trend of research on corporate social responsibility disclosure (CSRD) shows a growing concern on the information content and its trustworthiness, creating apprehension about the whole practice in corporate social reporting. The objective of this study is to examine the extent of CSRD in Indonesian public listed companies (PLC), the relationship of CSRD with corporate governance attributes, and the moderating effect of foreign ownership on the relationship between corporate governance attributes and CSRD using the legitimacy theory, agency theory, and stakeholder theory. The measurement for CSRD is based on quantity (number of pages) and quality (index). Further, the measurement of CSRD quality (index) is based on 25 items according to the practices in Indonesia. Data collection was based on the environment and social items disclosed in annual reports and the sample of the study consists of 353 companies listed in the Indonesia stock exchange (IDX) in the year 2017. Descriptive analysis and a hierarchical multiple regression model are applied to analyse the data. No evidence has been found to suggest the role of corporate governance on CSR disclosure. However, results from the hierarchical regression analysis showed that foreign ownership moderates the relationship between the women on the board director and CSRD quality. The results of this study may provide some insight into how foreign ownership could play their role to ensure better corporate social disclosure. Companies should create more opportunities for foreigners to invest in their companies, in line with the current government’s expectations to increase the percentage of foreign ownership in Indonesian companies. Immediate action could also be taken by the government to revise the existing code of corporate governance, by considering higher percentage of women on the board of directors

The influence of psychosocial climate on psychosocial safety behavior: A study among secondary school teachers
Research on secondary teachers' psychosocial safety behavior is currently still limited. The current study anticipates that the concepts are similar to those of physical safety because there are still few studies pertaining to psychosocial safety behavior. The goal of the current study is to gain a better understanding of secondary teachers' psychosocial safety behaviors in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya. A conceptual model was developed in order to understand how these four main constructs: psychosocial safety climate, psychosocial safety knowledge, and psychosocial safety motivation is related in explaining psychosocial safety behaviour (psychosocial safety compliance and psychosocial safety participation). A total of 400 sets of questionnaires were distributed to daily secondary teachers in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya. The study managed to collect 330 questionnaires via Google Form and used for data analysis (n = 330), representing an 82.5% response rate. Data were analysed using the IBM Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) Version 27.0 programme. The results of regression analysis in this study have indicated that there is a positive relationship between the psychosocial safety climate, psychosocial safety knowledge, and psychosocial safety behavior (psychosocial safety compliance and psychosocial safety participation). The relationship between psychosocial safety motivation and psychosocial safety compliance is positively significant. However, psychosocial safety motivation and psychosocial safety participation were not significant, according to the findings in this present study. This study succeeded in identifying the factors that contribute to psychosocial safety behavior among secondary teachers so that interventions can be developed to reduce psychological strain among secondary teachers in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya. This study has also contributed to the non-Western context and enriched the existing literature, serving as a guide for other researchers who are interested in psychosocial safety behavior issues and providing references and guidelines. Practically, the study pointed out that strengthening the psychosocial safety climate, psychosocial safety knowledge, and psychosocial safety motivation within an organisation may influence secondary teachers' psychosocial safety behavior. The results of this study will also be helpful to MOE, senior management at the school, the division that handles teacher training such as IPGM, BPG, and IAB, facilitate policy makers, and stakeholders regarding psychosocial safety behavior by increasing teachers' compliance and participation in school-based psychosocial safety
Persuasive strategies: Kurdish national identity construction on Rudaw portal and its impact on receptions
The concept of national identity has been manipulated by media on account of the dichotomous representation of positive ingroup and negative outgroup. Thus, strategies of persuasion are used by media discourse producers as a rhetorical device to form a collective national identity that contributes to shaping a particular social structure. Though abundant studies have investigated the construction of national identity, studies on the national identity construction from linguistical perspective in media suffer scarcity in the Kurdish context. Following Reisigl and Wodak’s (2001) Discourse-historical Approach (DHA), this study aims at examining three discursive strategies for representation of in- and out-groups focusing on the strategies of argumentation as persuasive devices and examining referential strategies and predicational strategies as the basis for the strategies of argumentation to understand the form of Kurdish national identity constructed by Rudaw media, and its impact on receptions. To address the subjectivity in DHA, keyness analysis of corpus linguistic was used for identifying topics in the texts. The data of the study are from opinion articles published on Rudaw digital portal during the years 2014-2019 and data from interviews with the commentators on these articles. The findings revealed that the use of spatialisation prevailed as a linguistic means for realisation of referential strategies to impersonalise the agents and blur the responsibility. For predicational strategies, the study discovered that the negative qualities were rather assigned to Iraq as a country and its government. Topoi were heavily depended on as means of realisation of persuasive strategies, and the prevalent topoi were topos of threat and danger and topos of disadvantage and uselessness. Finally, the study provides a framework for understanding the process followed in Rudaw media for laying down the argumentation scheme which can be a blueprint of a guideline for pedagogical means in teaching rhetorical devices of persuasion
A usability evaluation model for accessible mobile e-book applications for the visually impaired
Evaluation plays a critical role in assessing the usability of e-book applications in terms of their accessibility which allows the visually impaired to get the same benefits as ordinary people. However, current e-book usability evaluation models are not for evaluating accessible mobile e-book applications for the visually impaired as they did not sufficiently consider the accessibility issues of these applications. This study aims to develop a model that evaluates the usability of accessible mobile e-book applications for the visually impaired. Literature review and requirement-gathering methods were used to generate usability evaluation factors and metrics and later constructed as a usability evaluation model. This model was verified with 11 domain experts, and the data were analysed using the Fuzzy Delphi Method. Besides, the model was reviewed for consistency, ease of use, understandability, verifiability, and overall impression. Further, a series of online usability tests and interview sessions were conducted with 12 visually impaired participants to validate on data collection ability of the model. The descriptive analysis method was used to analyse objective metrics, and deductive thematic analysis was performed to analyse subjective metrics from interviews. This study initially proposed five evaluation factors: satisfaction, accessibility, efficiency, effectiveness, and learnability, with 35 metrics which were refined to 31 metrics after being verified. Besides, the model was validated, and the findings showed the ability to collect data and the reliability of this model in the actual context of use. The proposed model contributes to the knowledge of accessibility design, evaluation methods and human-computer interaction. Mobile application developers or usability researchers can use this model as one of the references for developing excellent and usable accessible mobile e-book applications for the visually impaired. By having a usable and satisfying accessible mobile e-book application, visually impaired learning and reading routines could be more accessible
