Research on the determinants of dual listing, particularly for firms from ASEAN-5 countries, is still limited. The contradictory expectations between market integration and segmentation theories raise the need for more examination regarding dual listing. Therefore, this study aims to examine the determinants of dual listing by employing ordinary least squares regression. It also investigates destination choice decisions, and the gains firms realised in the post-dual listing period by using logistic regression. The study sample consists of firms with a dual listing from ASEAN-5 countries for the period of 2003 to 2017. The findings revealed a significant positive relationship between trade openness and dual listing decisions among firms from ASEAN-5 countries. Similarly, the finding shows that the intra-ASEAN exports, and intra- ASEAN FDI inflows and outflows play an important role in the decisions on dual listing. Moreover, firms which pursue dual listing come from countries with low market capitalisation and high Gross Domestic Production (GDP). The destination choice decision examination showed that the higher the home country trade openness and the firms’ ownership concentration, the lower the firms' preference to pursue dual listing within European markets. Meanwhile, higher home country FDI openness and the firms’ stock volatility indicate a high tendency for firms to seek dual listing within European markets. Finally, the evidence regarding the changes in firms’ experiences after listing abroad shows that the firms experience a reduction in illiquidity and stock volatility after dual listing. In addition, ownership concentration, reputation and firm size showed an increase in the post-dual listing. The study contributes to the stakeholder new insight into the determinants that enhance the firm’s opportunity to seek dual listing, destination choice decision and firms’ realised gain after listing abroad

Intellectual capital (IC) and working capital management are important assets that play vital role for firms’ performance, and it has often been neglected. In spite of their importance, there is a serious dearth of literature on relationship between IC, working capital management and firm performance in Pakistan. Therefore, the objectives of this study are to determine the investment efficiencies in IC and its components in non-financial sectors, to determine the relationship between IC and firm performance and determine the impact of working capital management on firm performance. This study used the modified intellectual capital coefficient (MVAIC) to measure IC and three proxies of performance (return on assets, return on equity and Tobin’s q). A panel data of 140 Pakistani firms from fourteen industries were obtained from Datastream for the period 2009-2018. Using Kruskal-Wallis one-way analysis of variance, the findings revealed that fourteen industries manage IC components differently. On average, industries more efficiently manage relational capital than other IC components in order to create IC value. Using the dynamic panel generalized method of moments (GMM) study findings revealed that IC variables and working capital variables have inconsistent relationships with proxies of firm performance. However, all IC components have significant and positive relationships with TQ. Findings of the study have potential implications for policymakers in Pakistan. Financial managers must give equal importance to all IC components to create IC value and manage their current assets and current liabilities as these factors have been found to have impact on firm performance

This research had a great impact on teachers’ instructional planning following the Malaysia Ministry of Education (MOE) policy, which encouraged teachers to fully embrace the use of digital application tools in their instructional planning. The Integral ASIE Instructional Design Model website provides teachers with the competencies needed in particular subjects, which will reduce stress and improve teachers’ professionalism in the 21st Century Learning environment. Since the website is widely used by teachers in the state of Negeri Sembilan, WAMMI (Website Analysis and Measurement Inventory) was selected to evaluate its usability using five dimensions, namely Attractiveness, Controllability, Helpfulness, Efficiency, and Learnability to ensure its effectiveness. The research methodology is based on the Agile Method in constructing the Usability Evaluation Flow (UEF), which consists of five phases, namely Plan, Analyze, Evaluate, Improve, and Reevaluate. The WAMMI questionnaires with a 4-point Likert scale, Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, and Strongly Disagree are used. A semi-structured interview with open-ended questions was used to detail the improvements needed to the website. As this study aims to improve the usability of the website, two specific objectives were formulated: (i) to evaluate the profile of each dimension of the WAMMI questionnaires and (ii) to improve the weaknesses of the website for each dimension. At the initial stage, 20 respondents were involved in identifying the website's weaknesses. Then, 100 respondents participated in a 4-day workshop under the supervision of the Port Dickson Education District Office (PPD). This workshop was conducted in conjunction with the model pilot project initiated by the Negeri Sembilan State Education Department. The suggested items for improvement have been sent to the developer, and modifications have been made. During the re-evaluation phase, another 30 respondents from the same sample were selected. There was an increase in the average mean of the website's usability. The advancement of ICT in Indonesia has prompted all local governments to transition from conventional to electronic services. This is an endeavour to give the best possible service to the community. Empirical evidence suggests that the use and implementation of e-government technologies in Indonesia are still relatively low. Furthermore, there are some situations where e-government services are not adequately applied. The purpose of this research is to identify the e-government policy, evaluate the factors, analyze their relationship, as well as identify the government's strategy and explain the role of trust in the usage of e-government among local government citizens in Riau. This study utilizes the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) Model, which comprises several primary variables, namely performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating condition. The theory is modified by combining several constructs and a new construct called ‘Trust of Government’ is introduced as a mediator, resulting in nine hypotheses. A quantitative approach is employed in this research. A pilot study was conducted prior to the completion of the investigation to refine the instrument used. Online questionnaires were distributed to 290 respondents from the Riau province's e-government service user community, spanning across cities and districts. Data analysis was carried out using the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM), revealing that predictors of e-government usage in local governments include effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions. Furthermore, the role of Trust of Government on the intention to use e-government among local government citizens serves as a full mediator between performance expectancy and intention to use. In terms of the relationship between social influence and intention to use, it serves as a partial mediator

The use of augmented reality applications as teaching aids among teachers is becoming more widespread. Therefore, it is a necessity to develop an augmented reality application model to improve the teaching and learning process. Accordingly, the purpose of this research is to develop an augmented reality application model that focuses on learning theory and instructional design principles in producing teaching aids based on augmented reality. In line with the purpose of the study, an augmented reality application model that combines concepts and principles in the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning (CTML), Principles of Multimedia Learning, and Gagne's Teaching Scene is developed. This study is a quantitative case study. Based on the design of this study, there are two phases in it, namely the phase of developing the model and the phase of evaluating the applicability of the model. The design and development phase of the model uses the Fuzzy Delphi approach involving 12 experts to verify the construction of constructs and elements found in the development of the model. The Fuzzy Delphi technique is a systematic method to evaluate, verify and make decisions in modifying all constructs and elements required to develop an augmented reality design model through expert consensus. Each item that contains a threshold value (d) that does not reach a value of 0.2 will be translated as ACCEPTED based on expert agreement. Accordingly, the results of expert agreement show that the elements in the ApRLu Model are classified into three main constructs, namely the technology skill construct (d=0.098), the instructional design construct (d=0.181) and the application type construct (d=0.175). Next, the evaluation phase and the usability of the model involved 35 teachers selected by sampling in order to produce teaching aids based on the wider reality and then evaluate the usability of the model. The produced model is presented to see the appropriateness of the construct that has been developed in parallel with the expert's view in the first phase. For the purpose of interpreting the applicability assessment of the ApRLu Model, the researcher used a questionnaire approach. The results show that the evaluation and usability of the model is at a high level with a mean value of 4.16 (SP=0.696). Each model usability item gets a high mean interpretation value, which exceeds the mean interpretation value of 4.01-5.00. This finding clearly shows that the suitability of the ApRLu Model developed to practice usability as a guide for teachers to produce teaching aids based on augmented reality

A goal oriented measurement of test case quality assessment model for agile software development

    No full text
In agile software development (ASD), assessing quality of test cases is crucial for developing high-quality software products. Since organizations strive to meet the ever-changing demands of customers, a robust measurement model for evaluating test case quality is highly necessary. However, existing models often fail to address challenges faced by ASD practitioners, overlooking some important metrics for assessing test case quality. To bridge this gap, this study proposes a Goal-Oriented Test Case Quality Measurement (GOTCA) model for ASD. This model aims to provide a practical and effective approach to assess test case quality. This study was conducted in four phases. A theoretical study to identify characteristics, sub-characteristics, and metrics influencing test case quality in ASD. Then, an exploratory study was carried out using expert reviews to validate the identified characteristics and sub-characteristics. Followed by the development of the GOTCA model by adapting the Evaluation Theory and Goal Question Metric method. Finally, the model was verified through expert review and validated through three case studies to ensure its practicality. The GOTCA model consists of six characteristics: documentation quality, management quality, reusability, efficiency, effectiveness, and overall satisfaction of test cases. As an improvement, the model includes 22 sub-characteristics and 56 metrics, providing a practical model for measuring the quality of black box test cases. As a result, this model enables ASD practitioners to assess the overall test case quality as specific characteristics for further improvement. This study contributes to the academic knowledge in assessing test case quality and provides practical guidelines for ASD practitioners. The GOTCA model assists ASD practitioners in evaluating the effectiveness of their test cases, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, and optimizing their testing processes. Ultimately, this leads to high-quality software and meets customer satisfaction
