    Get PDF
This study aims to investigate the reverse logistics system of companies in the omnichannel context. This study is derived from the concept of reverse logistics, and focuses on company practices in the omnichannel ecosystem. Current business environments are stepping into the omnichannel era, but the topic has received a lack of attention within the reverse logistics management area. In particular, a high volume of returns has enlightened the need of research to inspire the business benefits from reverse logistics, in order to potentially improve firm performance through effective and efficient reverse logistics management. This study aims to explore the abilities of reverse logistics systems, and their capabilities to conform external influences, which is represented by firm and task environment factors. A mixed methodology approach was utilized to explore the omnichannel reverse logistics system through Sequential Explanatory Design, which uses a mixed methods concept (Qual-Quan-Qual). The population of this study was retrieved from omnichannel companies which are grouped by retailers, manufacturers and service providers. Stratified random sampling was applied to ensure all categories of omnichannel companies could be included in this study. The outcomes from different stages were consistent and uniform, showing that firm and task environment factors within reverse logistics management improve omnichannel firm performance. A robust theoretical framework was developed, which may be used in future studies, including both firm and task environment factors within omnichannel reverse logistics system to boost firm performance. The results also demonstrate that flexibility, collaboration, customer, and supplier play a direct causal relationship with omnichannel firm performance. Hence, both firm and task environment factors were important in omnichannel reverse logistics to impact firm performance. This study has significantly contributed to understanding omnichannel reverse logistics implementation. This research also provides empirical evidence that both firm and task environment factors are significant in reverse logistic

    No full text
The primary objective of this research was to evaluate the difficulties that were encountered in the warehousing sector in Raub, Pahang, during the period following the pandemic. Furthermore, the study investigates the solutions that were put into place in order to effectively manage these problems. The contradiction that was discovered in earlier studies concerning the difficulties that are encountered in the warehousing industry served as the impetus for this particular set of research. The specific difficulties that are the subject of this study are as follows: production closure, labour shortage, demand uncertainty, supply inconsistency, delivery delays, and a lean supply chain. Due to the fact that a qualitative approach was utilised, the survey questions were formulated by means of a comprehensive assessment of the relevant literature. Specifically, in Raub, the poll was directed towards persons who had 20 years or more of experience working in the warehouse industry. According to the findings, the two most concerning issues that are taking place in warehouses in Raub are the irregularity of the supply and the delays in delivery. In order to solve these difficulties, a number of different techniques have been implemented. These tactics include the utilisation of buffer systems, investments in technology such as real-time tracking systems, and upgrades in infrastructure. Theoretically, practically, and methodologically, these findings constitute a contribution, and they have substantial consequences for academicians, policymakers, and the warehousing industry in particular

The most widespread environmental problem affecting almost all island countries is the safe disposal of liquid domestic wastes, particularly human waste and sewage disposal. Few countries have adequate waste collection and treatment facilities even in the most developed urban areas, and those that exist are costly and seldom properly maintained. In spite of considerable efforts at rural sanitation, facilities in many rural areas are still rudimentary or entirely lacking. Tioman Island has population of 3,700 people and receive approximately 250,000 tourists yearly. With the land area of 145.08 sq. km or 14,508.80 ha, Tioman Island has highest ground elevation value of 1035 m. There are 36 rivers in the island that flow along the coast before discharging into the sea naturally. The research is based on the study on the feasibility study of constructed wetlands as alternative to sewerage system in island. From the site visit, it was decided that the most suitable site for the feasibility study was Kampung Salang, due to the availability and easiness of access to a gazetted Jabatan Perkhidmatan Pembetungan (JPP) land with a 0.52 ha area. Based on the population trend analysis of Kampung Salang, it was found out that Kampung Salang will only achieve 1000 Population Equivalent (PE) in another 30 years, which is the year 2050. If this trend continues, Kampung Salang will achieve a population of 2000 PE in year 2135. Water quality condition of Kampung Salang was investigated during dry season, wet season and high peak season through four sampling rounds, from July 2020 until September 2020. It was found that water quality at most downstream of Sungai Salang which is at WQ6 was classified in Class V. Malaysia National Water Quality Index (WQI)

This thesis examines the relationship between the modification behaviours of autistic children, social support, and work engagement toward the burnout of organisational staff (public and private) with autistic children. A total of 85 virtual questionnaires were obtained from organisations with staff with autistic children using a simple random sampling technique. The survey via Google Forms was disseminated to respondents through the social media platform. Multiple regression was used to analyse the hypotheses. The findings showed that modification behaviours of autistic children and social support had a negative and significant relationship toward the burnout of organisational staff with autistic children, while work engagement shows the opposite. Overall, the findings of this study are consistent with the recommendations of the Conservation of Resources theory and the results of previous studies. The findings also confirm the importance of organisational management to ensure that their staff with autistic children gets modified behaviour therapy for their autistic children, such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, medication and others, in intervention centres, hospitals and care centres or autism-related services. Thus, the organisation can help financially by sponsoring one or more of these therapies. Management also needs to ensure that staff gets the social support they need. Among the social support that the organisation’s management can provide is to give the staff a more flexible working time that allows them to start work late or return from work early according to their needs in certain circumstances

The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of religiosity, growth mindset, and fixed mindset on work engagement among the academic staff in Algerian public universities. The study also investigated the mediating effect of positive emotions on the relationship between religiosity, growth mindset, fixed mindset, and work engagement. Finally, the role of job demand as a moderator on the effect of positive emotions on work engagement was examined. This study integrated two theories, i.e., the Conservation of Resources (COR) theory and the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) Model, to underpin the research framework. Questionnaires were distributed to 728 academics working in six different public universities in Algeria after permission was granted by each university's management. Out of the 728 questionnaires distributed, 415 questionnaires were returned, yielding a response rate of 57%. However, only 337 questionnaires were usable for further analysis. The direct, mediating, and moderating effects hypotheses were tested using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) method. The results for the direct relationship revealed a significant effect of religiosity and growth mindset on positive emotions and work engagement. In contrast, a fixed mindset was negatively related to positive emotions and work engagement. The results also showed that positive emotions were positively related to work engagement. Meanwhile, the findings for mediating effect showed that positive emotions mediated the relationship between religiosity, growth mindset, fixed mindset, and work engagement. Finally, the study also revealed the significant moderating effect of job demand on the relationship between positive emotions and work engagement. The present study also highlighted the implications of the research, future research recommendations, and limitations

    Get PDF
Teaching profession often associated with high complexities and demands in comparison with other profession. There have been a few studies that have indicated that teachers work longer hours than many other professions, which can lead to stress. It is believed that one of the many contributing factors to the problem is work-life balance, role clarity, the role of the administrator, and inadequate resources. The purpose of this study is to explore whether there is a correlation between role stressors (role conflict, role ambiguity, role overload) and job stress among public school teachers in Malaysia. Furthermore, the study also examined the teachers' working hours and its effects on job stress. This study was conducted with the participation of 320 academic teachers from primary and secondary schools in Putrajaya. The findings of the study indicate that role ambiguity, role conflict, and role overload are all associated with significant relationships with job stress. Role ambiguity is the most predominant stressor, with a strong positive relationship, followed by role overload, which has a moderately positive relationship. Despite this, there were negative correlations between role conflict and job stress, which emphasizes the need for a more detailed review to be made. On the contrary, the working hours of teachers are found to be insignificant and, consequently, have been omitted from this study. From the findings, there are two main suggestions recommended: (i) develop a work-distribution framework as a supplementing document to the existing MySG documents, and (ii) conduct time and motion analysis from the activities listed in MySG to identify teachers’ capacity and headcount, work redundancy and ultimately to improve overall efficiency of process workflow at school. Discussion, implications, and recommendation for future studies have also been covered at the end of this research paper
