Retaining skilled employees is an ongoing challenge due to high turnover, demanding workload, and limited talent supply. This study examines the relationship between career development, compensation, and work-life balance on employees’ retention, using Social Exchange Theory (SET) as the main framework. The research focused on Big-Four, mid-tier, and small firms in the Klang Valley, in which early staff departures often affect audit quality and increase recruitment costs. A quantitative, cross-sectional design was used, with purposive sampling applied to collect 336 valid responses through a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 29, applying descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression. The results showed all three factors significantly and positively influence employee retention, with work-life balance is the strongest indicator, followed by career development, and compensation. The model explained 59.7% of the variance in retention, showing the importance of strategic HR practices in sustaining workforce stability. This study recommends supportive work-life balance, structured career development opportunities, and competitive compensation packages as key retention strategies. The findings provide empirical support for SET in the Malaysian audit context and offer practical recommendations for developing effective retention strategies and committed employee

Needlestick injuries (NSI) pose a significant occupational hazard to healthcare workers as it exposes them to serious bloodborne infections such as HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. Despite existing preventive guidelines, NSI occurrences still persist. This may be due to gaps in several factors influencing the adaptation of safe practice in handling needle-related procedures. This study aimed to examine the significant influence of knowledge, risk perception and attitude towards NSI prevention practices amongst healthcare workers in a Malaysian healthcare setting. A cross-sectional study was conducted using a structured, self-administered questionnaire comprising four main constructs: knowledge, risk perception, attitude and NSI prevention practice. Data was collected from 250 respondents through a simple random sampling method. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS to determine the relationship and significant influence of each variable. The findings revealed that knowledge, risk perception and attitude all have a positive correlation with NSI prevention practice. Multiple regression analysis has also shown that attitude has the strongest influence for NSI prevention practice, followed by knowledge and risk perception. In conclusion, this study highlights the factors that influence NSI prevention practice and reinforces the importance of promoting a positive attitude, enhancing risk perception and strengthening knowledge to improve NSI prevention practices amongst healthcare workers. The findings of this study can become a foundation for targeted interventions and educational programs to reduce the incidence of needlestick injuries

The pharmaceutical sector in Jordan is evolving rapidly, becoming more advanced and competitive on a global scale. This shift underscores the importance of implementing effective supply chain management (SCM) practices that promote sustainability in social, economic, and environmental aspects. This study examines the perceptions of top managers in Jordan's pharmaceutical industry regarding their SCM practices, the role of information and communication technology (ICT), and the impact on the sustainability of the supply chain. A key contribution of this research is the development of a new theoretical framework that links supply chain practices (SCP) including supplier partnerships, customer relationships, the level and quality of information sharing, and postponement with sustainable supply chain management (SSCM), conceptualized through the environmental, economic, and social pillars. ICT acts as a mediating factor in this relationship. This study uses a quantitative research approach, employing a structured questionnaire to collect data from 313 managers, resulting in a 95.8% response rate. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), with bootstrapping techniques applied for hypothesis testing to evaluate direct and indirect relationships within the model. Sixteen hypotheses were tested using the measurement model and structural model. However, only ten hypotheses received empirical support. The findings support most of the proposed hypotheses, demonstrating ICT's direct, indirect, and mediating roles on SCP and SSCM. The model explained 61% of the variance in sustainability outcomes, highlighting the significant impact of supply chain practices on sustainable performance. This research provides valuable insights for pharmaceutical companies in Jordan, offering a roadmap for enhancing their sustainability initiatives through improved SCM practices. It highlights the importance of integrating ICT to drive sustainable outcomes, assisting managers in addressing current and future supply chain challenge

    No full text
Named Data Networking (NDN) is a new Internet architecture that addresses location dependent issues in the Internet of Things (IoT). It helps to minimize global data traffic and enhances Internet services by integrating caching techniques. However, choosing the right node for content transmission is a challenge, as each node decides where to cache content, affecting network performance. This study examines the latest NDN-based IoT caching solutions, with a focus on enhancing the accessibility and visibility of cached content and presented a Priority-based Content Popularity-Aware Caching (PCPA). PCPA is a technique that needs the involvement of the Content Selection Mechanism (CSM), Content Caching Mechanism (CCM), and Backup Caching Mechanism (BCM) to perform the complete functionality. CSM identifies the higher-priority content via dynamic selection, whereas CCM calculates the ideal places for caching chosen information depending on user desire. However, the BCM provides the ideal cache location for the least frequently downloaded content to keep it alive and meet successive user needs. To analysis the performance of the PCPA caching approach, it is compared to three benchmark strategies: Cache Everything Everywhere, probabilistic Caching strategy for the internet of things, and Caching Fresh and Popular Content. This study did the comparison using the simulation software NDN-SIM. The PCPA outperforms the compared techniques in terms of content retrieval latency, average hop count, cache hit ratio, and energy usage. The approximate findings demonstrate that the PCPA works better when the cache hit ratio is enhanced by 19.15% and 30.7% decreases in hop count with various alpha values and constant cache sizes. Moreover, the latency is cut by 31.3%, and a 27.5% reduction in energy usage is documented with varied cache sizes and a constant alpha value. Therefore, in the future, PCPA will be useful for new NDN-based technologies like 5G/6G, computing platforms, and the Io
