Enhancing youth involvement in agribusiness : The role of attitudes, ict, innovation and training in Malaysia
Youth involvement in agribusiness is among the major challenges in many countries, including Malaysia. The government and agencies have developed strategic initiatives to increase youth involvement in agribusiness because it is one of the largest contributors to Malaysia's GDP and provides business opportunities, particularly for youth. However, youth participation in agribusiness activities is still low. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between attitude, information and communication technology (ICT), innovation, and knowledge in enhancing youth involvement in agribusiness in Malaysia. Additionally, it explores the moderating role of training in the relationship between attitudes, ICT, innovation, knowledge, and youth involvement in agribusiness. The research is grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), and the Resource-Based View (RBV) theory to provide a theoretical foundation for examining these variables. A quantitative study surveyed 400 randomly selected Malaysian youths, and assessed their attitudes toward agriculture, ICT, knowledge, and innovation. The analysis was carried out using SPSS Version 22 and SmartPLS 3.0. The findings indicated that attitudes, ICT, and training have a positive and significant impact on youth involvement in agribusiness, while innovation and knowledge did not show significant influence. Moreover, the moderating effect of training on the relationships between attitude, ICT, and innovation is not significant. Conversely, training had a positive moderating effect on the relationship between knowledge and youth involvement in agribusiness. These findings recommended the need to promote positive perceptions and benefits of venturing into agribusiness and helping youth access ICT, such as smart farming, by introducing training programmes tailored to build the capacity of youth in modern agribusiness technology. Furthermore, through collaboration between private businesses and educational institutions, the government should regularly monitor and improve these initiatives based on feedback to ensure long-term success in engaging youth in agribusiness

This study investigated the relationship between ergonomic risk factor of human, equipment, work area, environment and job stress outcomes among healthcare workers in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia. It was a quantitative research method and the data were collected through cross-sectional study involving 338 respondents selected through stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and Smart PLS software. The finding revealed, the ergonomic risk factors of human, equipment and environment variables were significantly influence job stress. Meanwhile, work area variable was proven insignificant relationship towards job stress outcome. Human factors, including physical and psychological capabilities, emerged as a critical determinant of job stress, indicating that mismatches between job demands and individual capacities contribute to heightened stress levels. However, poorly designed or maintained equipment was found to significantly exacerbate job stress, suggesting the importance of ergonomic equipment in mitigating stress-related issues. Environmental factors, such as lighting, noise, and temperature, were also significantly associated with job stress, underscoring the need for conducive workplace conditions. In contrast, the work area factor, which included spatial layout and workstation design, was found to have no significant relationship with job stress outcomes. This finding suggests that while spatial design is important, it may not directly impact stress levels as strongly as other ergonomic risk factors

This study examines how learning organization leadership (KOP) and organizational social capital (MSO) influence professional learning community (KPP) practices among Malaysian primary school leaders. Addressing gaps in understanding effective implementation, impact and interrelationships is critical as these gaps can affect educational outcomes and hinder the development of cohesive professional learning communities within schools. The study aims to explore the levels of KPP practices among primary school teachers in Malaysia and examine how KOP and MSO influence these practices. It also investigates the moderating role of MSO in the relationship between KOP and KPP dimensions. The study uses a survey method involving 430 respondents from 26 primary schools in Kedah, selected through multistage stratified sampling. The instruments were chosen for their validity and reliability in educational settings, including surveys on learning organization leadership, organizational social capital, and professional learning community practices. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was used due to its suitability for complex models, handling smaller sample sizes, and non normal data distributions. Data were analyzed with SmartPLS Version 3.2.9. The findings show high ratings for MSO, KOP, and KPP practices. MSO demonstrates strong relational capital but weaker structural capital. KOP positively influences these practices with small effects, while MSO has a significant positive impact with moderate effects and moderates the relationship between KOP and KPP practices. Importance-Performance Matrix Analysis highlights that relational and cognitive social capital are crucial for improving KPP practices, while structural aspects are less critical. The study emphasizes Social Exchange Theory's role in KOP, MSO, and KPP. Methodologically, it uses deductive reasoning and PLS-SEM.
