Analisis kesantunan berbahasa berdasarkan gender dalam komen di laman media social facebook
Language politeness is the use of good and polite language when communicating. The practise of polite language is emphasised in the community to avoid conflicts and misunderstandings. Nowadays, the issue of language etiquette is often discussed, especially the use of language on social media sites. Due to this matter, this research was conducted to examine the use of polite language based on gender in comments on Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's Facebook social media page regarding the announcement of the implementation of the MCO in Malaysia. Comments are studied based on two elements, namely language politeness and language impoliteness. The researcher used a qualitative approach and text analysis method to study and analyse the data by using Leech's Politeness Principles (1983) and Culpeper's Impoliteness Strategy Theory (1996). The results of the study found that expressions of impoliteness were used more by Facebook users by 54.69% compared to expressions of polite language (45.31%). In addition, the use of polite expressions based on gender shows that the female group recorded the highest use of polite maxims compared to the male group. As for the use of impolite expressions, men use more impolite expressions, coarse language, and have elements of metaphor or sarcasm than women. In conclusion, it was found that language politeness through posting comments on Facebook does not show a significant gap between the use of polite and impolite expressions among social media users
Repetitive mutations in genetic algorithm for software test data generations
Generating test data is the most important part of dynamic software testing. One of the white box testing techniques is path coverage testing. Genetic Algorithm (GA) has proven to be an important method in generating test data for automatic path coverage testing. However, to satisfy path coverage testing, GA’s operation of a single mutation generates test data that covers the same path in a single generation, hence resulting in path coverage duplication, which negatively increases the number of iterations. Therefore, this study proposes a repetitive mutation for GA in order to eliminate path coverage duplication and reduce the number of iterations for test data generations in path coverage testing. The study was conducted in three phases. First, the limitations of existing mutation techniques used in GA to generate test data for path coverage testing were analysed. Then, a repetitive mutation technique for GA was designed and implemented in a numerical simulation using C++ language. Finally, the evaluation phase that compares the outcome of the proposed technique against existing studies in terms of the number of iterations for test data generations. The findings show that the proposed repetitive mutation technique outperformed the single mutation technique by reducing the number of iterations to more than 50 percent for test data generations. The study has revealed the importance of mutation in generating test data and how it can be harnessed to quickly guide GA in producing solutions. In addition, the proposed repetitive mutation in GA can contribute to developing an adaptive GA testing tool
Penerimaan pengguna terhadap system STAMPS di kalangan pegawai lembaga hasil dalam negeri Malaysia
The use of information technology systems or online services has become a new phenomenon in the industry in Malaysia. The purpose of this study was to see the level of user acceptance of the STAMPS system by internal users, namely IRBM officials. This study uses the technology acceptance model (TAM). By using a sample of 106 officers working at the Malaysian Inland Revenue Board, the findings of the study show that users' acceptance of the use of the STAMPS system is influenced by the notion that the STAMPS system is perceived to be useful, perceived easy to use, attitudes, behavioral intentions, actual use and demographic factors such as age, sex, education level, tenure and experience using the system. The findings of the study also show that perceptions of usefulness, perceptions of ease of use, attitudes, behavioral intentions and actual use to have a positive and significant influence on the level of user acceptance of the STAMPS system but not the demographic factors. The regression analysis conducted found that, the factors of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitudes, behavioral intentions and actual use contribute as much as 50 percent to the variation in user acceptance of the STAMPS system. Implications for theory and practice as well as research recommendations for the future are also discussed in this study
The impact of ceo characteristics on financial performance of Malaysian construction listed firms
This study investigates the impact of CEO characteristics on the financial performance of companies listed in Bursa Malaysia (Malaysia Stock Exchange) within the construction sector from 2017 to 2019. This study uses descriptive and inferential statistics, to examine the influence of CEO characteristics (CEO ownership, tenure, financial education, and founder) on the dependent variable (return on asset). The findings indicate that CEO financial education and founder CEO have no statistically significant effect on ROA. In contrast, CEO tenure and CEO ownership have a significant positive relationship with ROA. The collected data from annual reports were statistically processed using the program (STATA) to obtain the study's results since the study is based on a panel model. Future research can investigate the exact relationship between CEO characteristics with firm financial performance in other countries. In addition, future researchers can extend the research or studies of CEO characteristics such as CEO gender, power, expertise, et cetera. In addition, the research could be extended to other sectors; therefore, applying the theoretical model to othersmay be a significant contribution
