Exploring Chinese university students' adoption of 360 panoramic animation: usability, immersion and behavioral intentions
This study investigates how 360-degree panoramic animations influence emotional engagement and behavioral intention among Chinese university students. While prior research on immersive media focused largely on technological or usability aspects, limited attention has been paid to the emotional and psychological mechanisms underlying students’ interaction with panoramic animations. To address this gap, the study integrates the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) with sensory and emotional variables such as aesthetic design, user control, perceived enjoyment, immersion, hedonic motivation, and positive emotion. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative data from 787 art students across three structured surveys with qualitative insights gathered from open-ended questions. Structural Equation Modeling was used to test four hypotheses, while thematic analysis of participants’ responses enriched the interpretation of immersion and emotional engagement. Results demonstrate that aesthetic design and user control enhance usability, which in turn leads to greater immersion. Immersion further drives hedonic and positive emotions, which significantly predict students’ behavioral intentions to engage with animations. These findings contribute to the refinement of TAM and UTAUT by incorporating emotional dimensions and provide implications for the design of immersive educational tools. The study offers actionable guidelines for animators and educators seeking to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes through emotionally resonant, interactive medi
Relationship of safety attitudes, training, and communication on safety compliance in Malaysia's automotive manufacturing sector
Occupational accidents in Malaysia’s manufacturing sector remain a critical concern despite structured safety protocols. This study aims to examine the influence of safety attitude, safety training, and safety communication on safety compliance among employees in the automotive manufacturing sector. Grounded in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), the study employed a quantitative cross-sectional design. Data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 215 operation employees in Kedah using simple random sampling. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analyses were conducted using SPSS version 23. The findings revealed a statistically significant and positive relationship between all three independent variables and safety compliance. Safety attitude emerged as the strongest predictor (β = 0.541, p < 0.01), followed by safety training (β = 0.172, p < 0.05) and safety communication (β = 0.144, p < 0.05). These results validate TPB's constructs; attitude, perceived control, and subjective norms as key determinants of safety behaviour in high-risk environments. The study contributes theoretical insights by contextualising TPB in Malaysian industrial settings and provides practical implications for enhancing safety interventions. Specifically, organizations are urged to prioritise positive attitude formation, deliver hands-on and updated safety training, and foster open safety communication channels to improve compliance. Regulatory bodies may also consider incorporating behavioural metrics into safety audit frameworks. Overall, the study enhances the understanding of behavioural predictors in workplace safety and supports evidence-based policymaking for accident reduction in Malaysia’s high-risk industries

Analysing the conceptual model of factors influencing pricing practices in Peninsular Malaysia’s haulage industry
The haulage sector is a vital component of Malaysia’s logistics network, supporting trade flows between seaports and inland destinations. Despite its importance, the sector operates without a structured pricing mechanism, leading to inconsistent and non-transparent pricing practices. This issue has raised concerns over sustainability, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating under cost pressure. The problem is further compounded by an absence of formal regulatory oversight, unlike sea and air transport, which are governed by established legal frameworks. This study aims to examine stakeholders’ perceptions of pricing fairness in the Malaysian haulage industry and to identify the operational cost factors that shape a fair pricing structure. The research objectives include identifying key cost components, evaluating their influence on pricing practices, and analysing a conceptual model that reflects fair pricing principles. A qualitative approach was adopted, using semi-structured interviews with selected industry players, including haulage operators, association representatives, and regulatory stakeholders. The data were analysed thematically to uncover recurring views on pricing challenges and expectations. The analysis revealed that manpower costs, vehicle maintenance, and technology adoption are the most critical elements influencing perceptions of fair pricing. Additionally, issues such as client power imbalance, regulatory gaps, and absence of cost-reflective tools were raised. The study recommends that Malaysia’s future haulage pricing approach be aligned with the National Transport Policy (NTP) 2019–2030 by promoting stakeholder inclusivity, transparency, and sustainability. Analysing the proposed conceptual model provides practical insights for policymakers and industry leaders to strengthen cost-reflective and equitable pricing frameworks
