Dynamic hybrid pricing formulation for equity warrants
Equity warrants are instruments issued by a company that give the stockholder the privilege of buying a stock at a certain strike price within a particular timeframe. Motivated by empirical studies, the Black-Scholes option pricing model is not suitable to price a warrant since both assumptions of constant volatility and constant interest
rates in the model are incompatible. This study proposed the Heston-Cox-Ingersoll- Ross (Heston-CIR) hybrid model to identify the effects of stochastic volatility and stochastic interest rates in pricing equity warrants. The study constructed new analytical pricing formulas for equity warrants by using Cauchy transformation and partial differential equation approaches. The local optimization method is employed to obtain the estimated parameter values by calibrating the Heston-CIR model. The effectiveness of the proposed model is investigated through the empirical study using the data from
Bursa Malaysia. The proposed model shows significant improvement on the computation time in estimating nine model parameters, ranging from 38.12 to 62.62 seconds compared to the existing models. Moreover, the empirical study suggested that the proposed model is accurate when compared to the real market over five years
period. This model also produced smallest pricing errors among the existing models. The finding also suggested equity warrants in moneyness opportunity, 88.75% of the warrants are profitable. In conclusion, the proposed model performs the best in identifying the effects of stochastic volatility and stochastic interest rates in pricing
equity warrants
Solving sylvester matrix equations with LR bipolar triangular fuzzy numbers in electric circuits problems
Bipolar crisp numbers refer to two different functions and information in a given system, namely positive and negative components. Likelihood and unlikelihood information can be simultaneously represented by bipolar crisp numbers rather than classical crisp numbers. However, since bipolar crisp numbers are inadequate in
dealing with uncertainty problem, bipolar fuzzy numbers (BFN) are used instead. BFN in Sylvester matrix equations (SME) plays an essential role in the control system such as in electrical controller. An electrical controller of RLC circuit consisting of resistor (R), inductor (L), and capacitor (C), is used to control the amount of electric
currents flowing across the electric circuits. Besides, complex numbers which consist of real and imaginary parts are used in solving RLC circuit, where real numbers denote resistance, while imaginary numbers denote inductance or capacitance. To the best of our knowledge, the integration of SME with either BFN or complex BFN is not yet explored. Therefore, this study aims to construct analytical approaches in solving bipolar fuzzy Sylvester matrix equation (FSME), complex bipolar FSME, bipolar fully fuzzy Sylvester matrix equation (FFSME), and complex bipolar fully fuzzy linear system (FFLS) in left-right (LR) bipolar triangular fuzzy numbers. In order to obtain the solutions, bipolar FSME, complex bipolar FSME, and bipolar FFSME are converted into the bipolar linear system by utilizing Kronecker product and Vecoperator. Next, an equivalent bipolar linear system (EBLS), equivalent complex bipolar linear system (ECBLS), associated bipolar linear system (ABLS), and
associated complex bipolar linear system (ACBLS) are established. Then, the final solutions of the constructed methods are obtained using inverse method. Therefore, four analytical approaches have been constructed in solving bipolar FSME, complex bipolar FSME, bipolar FFSME, and complex bipolar FFLS in LR forms. Several
examples are presented to illustrate the constructed methods. Moreover, the application of RLC circuits with complex bipolar FSME and complex bipolar FFLS are also carried out. In conclusion, the new findings of analytical approaches add to the fuzzy equations body of knowledge with significant applications in bipolar electrical controllers
A program visualization model to enhance student engagement in introduction to programming course
High attrition and failure rates are common phenomena in introductory programming courses. Thus, program visualization (PV) is introduced to enhance programming skills among novices. However, there is some doubt about the effectiveness of PV and its ability to engage students in using it effectively. Therefore, the PV needs to be enhanced by integrating engagement factors to improve students’ learning outcomes. Unfortunately, current PV models lack multi-dimensional student engagement aspects, including cognitive, behavioral, and emotional engagement. This study aims to develop and validate a model that explains the PV design of student engagement in learning
programming. The study employed a design-based research with a mixed-method evaluation approach. The developed PV Engagement Design Model (PVEDM) consists of four components: engagement design features (EDFs), student engagement, learning outcome, and design principles. The model was evaluated through three different methods: expert reviews, usability testing, and two controlled experiments. Firstly, seven experts evaluated the consistency and relevancy of the PVEDM through an expert review method. Then, a usability test was conducted with five domain experts to verify the usefulness of the tool. Finally, the two controlled experiments in an
academic setting were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness and practicality of the PVEDM. The empirical evaluation results show that the PVEDM improved learning outcomes (p= .033), engagement
(p= .255), and time-on-tool (p= .011). Furthermore, it reveals that the PVEDM is able to encourage cognitive and emotional engagement
among novices. Theoretically, this study contributes to the PVEDM, which includes EDFs and EDFs taxonomy to improve students’ programming skills. Furthermore, this study contributes to the categorization of the EDFs taxonomy, which consists of four categories: interactive, collaborative, cognitive, and gamification. Practically, a
SocialWorked-Examples Technique (SWET) tool was developed based on PVEDM to engage novices in an active learning environment, thus cultivating their programming skills

sampling technique. Data were collected from all 362 undergraduate EFL students randomly selected. The data were collected through a vocabulary learning strategy questionnaire adapted from Bennett (2006). A vocabulary size test developed by Nation (2007) and a TOEFL reading comprehension test were also used in the study.
The descriptive statistics showed that Jordanian undergraduate EFL learners were medium strategy users. And the most and least frequently used were belong to social and determination strategies respectively. All different categories of IV vocabulary learning strategies were reported to be used at high and medium level. The students were found to have a vocabulary size of 6200 words. Then, Pearson Product Moment Correlation was conducted to find the relationships between variables. The result showed that three strategies out from five were found to have a positive correlation to
reading comprehension, in addition VS was also found to have a positive correlation with reading comprehension. Further the stepwise analysis revealed that only memory strategies and vocabulary size were found to have a contribution to reading comprehension of JUST students
The impact of social media influencers on purchase intention towards beauty products in Malaysia
Due to advancements in technology and social media, the popularity of social media influencers has grown, and more businesses and advertisers are utilizing them to enhance revenue and sales. This study aims to add to this field of study by examining the impact of social media influencers on the purchase intention of beauty products and by gaining a better knowledge of which characteristics significantly impact buy intention in Malaysia.
Based on the literature review, a framework was developed that emphasized the features of social media influencers that have the potential to affect the purchase intent of beauty goods. A quantitative study employing a self-administered questionnaire with 269 participants examined the framework hypothesis. This study has four predictors: trustworthiness, expertise, likability, and similarity. The findings indicate that all four characteristics significantly influence Malaysia's propensity to purchase beauty products. The data revealed that likeability and expertise have a more decisive influence on consumer purchase intent than trustworthiness and similarity after analysing the data with version 28 of the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software. This study contributed new insights to our present understanding of the significant components of social influencer participation. With the help of these contributions, managers can consciously choose the characteristics to look for in social media influencers
