ENHANCING ENERGY MANAGEMENT IN STANDALONE MICROGRIDS THROUGH PEAK SHAVING TECHNIQUES
Standalone microgrids are becoming increasingly important in managing energy supply and demand, especially in remote or isolated areas. These systems operate independently from the main power grid, providing a reliable source of electricity to communities that do not have access to traditional energy infrastructure. One solution offered is the use of peak shaving techniques with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), which store excess energy during low demand periods and release it during peak consumption times. This method helps to stabilize microgrid operations, reduce reliance on backup generators, save operational costs, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Simulations were conducted using MATLAB software to optimize energy usage. The simulation results show that the use of BESS can reduce peak load and increase the efficiency of renewable energy used in the microgrid system. The analysis data shows that the peak load before the use of BESS is 112.00 kW, and remains the same after the use of BESS. The total renewable energy used was 590.00 kWh, with the energy stored in the BESS amounting to 43.99 kWh
PKM PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH AIR TAHU SEBAGAI BAHAN BAKAR ALTERNATIF BIOGAS PADA RUMAH TANGGA DI KECAMATAN TAMALANREA MAKASSAR
The Community Partnership Program (PKM) titled Utilization of Tofu Wastewater as an Alternative Biogas Fuel for Households in Tamalanrea District, Makassar aims to assist partners in finding energy-saving solutions by utilizing tofu wastewater as an alternative biogas fuel. This initiative involves providing equipment and training to empower partners with the skills needed to process tofu wastewater into renewable energy for household use. The specific objective of this program is to ensure that the biogas equipment operates effectively within the partner’s production facility and surrounding community. The implementation method includes conducting surveys and interviews to identify the main problems faced by the partners. These findings are followed by the development and handover of biogas equipment as a solution. The final stage of the program involves evaluating its success by monitoring equipment usage and assessing the partners’ understanding and proficiency in operating the system. The test results show that the biogas equipment produced 3.68 liters of biogas with a stable blue flame lasting six minutes during combustion testing. The system achieved an efficiency rate of 48.61%. These findings demonstrate that tofu wastewater has significant potential as a biogas feedstock, supporting renewable energy development and contributing to environmental pollution reduction
IoT-Based Sensor System for Electricity Consumption Forecasting in Boarding Rooms Using Kalman Filter Algorithm
Humans demand electricity to conduct their daily tasks. Indonesia undergoes a yearly escalation in its electricity use. Moreover, customers encounter the difficulty of overestimating their electrical energy consumption, since they remain unaware of the power utilization linked to each frequently utilized electrical load and possess limited control over their electricity expenditure. The Kalman Filter Algorithm was utilized to estimate electricity usage via the execution of a research system. The Kalman Filter can forecast future states using minimal information. This system incorporates an IoT framework with a network communication module, the Raspberry Pi, which relays data to the database. The PZEM-004T sensor is utilized to gather data on electrical parameters from loads, including voltage, current, active power, and energy consumption. The electrical consumption was documented every 15 minutes over a duration of 60 days. The dataset was divided in an 80:20 ratio, allocating 80% for training and 20% for testing. RMSE, MSE, and MAPE are utilized to determine the accuracy metrics of each test. Additionally, the fan load is assessed in one evaluation, yielding an error percentage of 0.077% for the training data and 0.076% for the test data, determined using RMSE. The error percentage calculated using the MSE equation is 0.006% for the training data and 0.005% for the test data. The error percentage calculated by MAPE is 0.789% for the training dataset and 0.202% for the testing dataset. Pengembangan Desain Konstruksi Mesin Penanam Bibit Padi menggunakan Motor Listrik Inverter
Padi berperan penting dalam perekonomian Indonesia, bahkan di tingkat Asia karena padi merupakan makanan pokok sebagian besar penduduk di Asia. Hal ini menyebabkan padi menjadi komoditas prioritas, strategis, bahkan politis di Indonesia.Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam pengembangan desain konstruksi mesin penanam bibit padi menggunakan motor listrik inverter ini ialah dapat mengefisiensikan waktu dalam penanaman bibit padi dan persentasi penanaman bibit padi lebih baik dibandingkan dengan mesin penanam bibit padi sebelumnya. Metoda yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancang bangun terapan dengan mendesain mesin penanam bibit padi yang lebih ringan karena menggunakan motor listrik inverter sebagai penggerak, roda mesin yang dapat dilepas-pasang, dan secara keseluruhan konstruksi mesin lebih praktis.Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa mesin yang dikembangkan desain konstruksinya ini dapat melakukan penanaman bibit padi pada lahan seluas 1 Ha dengan waktu selama 16 jam, sedangkan pada mesin sebelumnya yang digerakkan mesin bensin membutuhkan waktu 18 jam, sehingga mesin ini dapat mengurangi 2 jam waktu penanaman. Demikian pula, mekanisme konstruksi pencapit yang lebih baik sehingga dapat menanam bibit padi sekitar 75% sesuai target yang ditentukan
Pengaruh Kesadaran dan Implementasi Manajemen Risiko terhadap Kinerja Perusahaan Start-Up
Digital start-ups have grown rapidly in recent years, with Indonesia reaching 1,190 start-ups according to MIKTI’s 2021 mapping. However, despite this growth, 95% of start-ups fail, highlighting the high risks they face. Risk management is crucial in helping companies manage these risks and protect their value. This research aims to examine the influence of risk management awareness and implementation on start-ups performance in Indonesia. The research adopts a quantitative approach, collecting data through non-probability and purposive sampling. A total of 51 CEOs/Founders of Indonesian digital start-ups participated by completing an online questionnaire. The questionnaire included four sections: demographic information, risk management awareness, risk management implementation, and company performance. Data collected were analysed using multiple linear regression, including T and F tests. Findings show that while risk management awareness among start-up leaders is high, its implementation remains incomplete. Both risk management awareness and implementation significantly affect start-up performance, but only implementation shows a partial significant effect. These results highlight the importance of fully applying risk management practices. Start-ups, incubators, and government bodies can use these insights to strengthen start-up performance and reduce failure rates by promoting comprehensive risk management implementation
Studi Alternatif Penggunaan Baja Castella Pada Struktur Pengaku Antar Kolom
Gedung Laboratorium dan Bengkel Jurusan Teknik Mesin di Kampus PNUP diharuskan dengan desain struktur berupa bentang panjang dan bebas kolom. Untuk itu perlu alternatif penggunaan material yang sesuai untuk bentang lebar seperti baja castella. Dengan alternatif penampang ini diharapkan dapat mengurangi berat struktur serta menjaga agar lendutan yang terjadi tidak terlalu besar. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan memodelkan dan menganalisis gedung eksisting (Model 1) dalam ETABS v.18. Selanjutnya, memodelkan ulang struktur pengaku antar kolom menjadi balok castella (model 2). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil analisis struktur untuk model 1 diperoleh nilai rasio truss > 1 maka didesain ulang menggunakan model 2 dari hasil perhitungan diperoleh penampang baja castella yang aman pada struktur pengaku antar kolom sepanjang 29 m adalah IWF450.150.6,5.9. Baik ditinjau dari Pu = 302,725 kN > Pr = 268 ; Mc = 2279,55 Kn.m > Mr = 114 kN.m ; Imax = 0,887 < 1 ; ϕbMn = 9,59354 kN.m ≥ Mu = 3,22 ; ϕv.Rn = 73,125 kN ≤ Vrh = 21,4 kN, Lendutan yang diperoleh dari hasil analisis sebesar 75,1408 mm dan perhitungan manual sebesar 97.44 mm lebih aman dari lendutan izin struktur yaitu 120.833 mm sehingga pengaplikasian baja castella sebagai struktur pengaku antar kolom direkomendasikan mengganti struktur truss. Metode pengangkatan yang aman untuk mengangkat balok baja castella yaitu menggunakan 2 mobile crane dengan jumlah ikatan tali sebanyak 4 tali crane, karena menghasilkan lendutan terbesar 1,185 mm dibandingkan hanya menggunakan 1 mobile crane dengan 2 tali crane dengan lendutan 96 mm
PENINGKATAN KAPASITAS PRODUKSI UMKM FAMILY JAYA
The Community Partnership Program (PKM), initiated in August 2024, aims to enhance the production capacity and promotion of UMKM Family Jaya in Barombong District, Gowa Regency. Activities including counseling, training, and the provision of production tools focus on the needs of the partners. Evaluation results indicate a significant increase in the partners' understanding of the importance of enhancing production capacity and expanding market reach. Before the PKM, the partners faced limitations that hindered their ability to meet customer demands. However, following the program, they successfully improved their understanding of marketing strategies and production capacity. Despite these advancements, challenges remain. The potential for equipment damage could disrupt operational efficiency, making routine maintenance and regular inspections essential. Continuous training for employees is also crucial to minimize the risk of damage. Low product innovation may lead to market saturation; therefore, allocating time and resources for research and development is highly recommended. Additionally, moral support through mentoring and the establishment of clear goals can help maintain entrepreneurial spirit. By implementing these solutions, it is hoped that the challenges faced by Family Jaya can be addressed, and collaboration with Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang will continue to ensure the sustainability and growth of the UMKM.

PKM PENERAPAN ALAT PEMASAKAN DAN PENGADUKAN SARI DAN SIRUP MARKISA PADA UKM MARKISA MAMMIRI
UKM Markisa Mammiri produces passion fruit into passion fruit juice and syrup. A survey conducted at the partner's location revealed that the cooking and stirring process of the fruit juice is still done traditionally, resulting in an inability to control the cooking temperature and uneven mixing, with a capacity of 40 liters. Marketing is still done directly, leading to low sales levels, and financial bookkeeping is still traditional. The proposed solution and activity plan to address these issues includes implementing a motorized fruit juice stirrer and cooker equipped with a temperature control device. Marketing improvements will be made through a website-based sales system, as well as training and mentoring in financial and marketing management. The aim of the activity is to increase the cooking and stirring capacity of passion fruit syrup from 40 liters to 80 liters. The target output for the partner is to achieve homogeneous mixing in the stirring process, and a constant cooking temperature of 70°C for 20 minutes. The activities support IKU 2; IKU 3; and IKU 5.

PENGELOLAAN SISTEM INFORMASI i-DESA WISATA MELALUI OPTIMASI AKSES JARINGAN TELEKOMUNIKASI
The digitalization of tourism has become a vital strategy in shaping societal civilization amidst the rapid development of information technology, aiming to meet recreational and tourism needs. For visitors, digitalization simplifies access to information about tourist destinations before making a visit. Meanwhile, for managers, it serves as an effective tool to promote tourism potential through digital platforms. In supporting the creative economy in tourist villages, every village strives to showcase its unique attractions to draw local, domestic, and international tourists. The partners in this Community Service activity are the officials of Salenrang Village, Maros Regency, who manage the Rammang-Rammang Tourist Village. Various management strategies can be implemented in the digitalization of tourism in tourist villages, or i-tourism villages, including improving tourist village management, infrastructure, digitalization forms, and digital tourism management. A significant challenge faced by the partners is the difficulty of accessing telecommunication networks due to the geographical conditions surrounded by karst mountains. The solution implemented is the application of wireless networks to ensure seamless cellular communication access called i-desa. This digitalization initiative not only aids in promoting Rammang-Rammang but also supports the implementation of the PERKADES program, positioning this Tourist Village as a leading destination in the region.
