This data set contains the all the figure and supporting data relating to the paper ‘Simulation of protein pulling dynamics on second time scale with boxed molecular dynamics’ (doi: 10.1063/5.0059321).
Each data set, titled by the PMF used to generate it, is split into subdirectories for the velocities the code was run at (in Angstrom/ns) each of which contain the population, free energy and force outputs for the simulation.

Nepal Stressor Interaction Model (Nepal SIM)
A detail-rich, ethnographically informed agent-based model of a Nepalese smallholder village that was originally created for the purpose of studying the impact of multiple stressors on mountain communities, but which can potentially be adapted to serve other purposes. The model was created in NetLogo 5.0.5 but additionally calls on R scripts and .CSV inputs that are included in the package. Example R scripts for conducting analysis of model outputs are also included, along with example output. The ODD protocol for the model and details of how to run the code are provided in a MethodsX paper titled: An empirically informed agent-based model of a Nepalese smallholder village.

Social environments influence multiple traits of individuals including immunity, stress and ageing, often in sex-specific ways. The composition of the microbiome (the assemblage of symbiotic microorganisms within a host) is determined by environmental factors and the host’s immune, endocrine and neural systems. The social environment could alter host microbiomes extrinsically by affecting transmission between individuals, likely promoting homogeneity in the microbiome of social partners. Alternatively, intrinsic effects arising from interactions between the microbiome and host physiology (the microbiota-gut-brain axis) could translate social stress into dysbiotic microbiomes, with consequences for host health. We investigated how manipulating social environments during larval and adult life-stages altered the microbiome composition of Drosophila melanogaster fruit flies. We used social contexts that particularly alter the development and lifespan of males, predicting that any intrinsic social effects on the microbiome would therefore be sex-specific. The presence of adult males during the larval stage significantly altered the microbiome of pupae of both sexes. In adults, same-sex grouping increased bacterial diversity in both sexes. Importantly, the microbiome community structure of males was more sensitive to social contact at older ages, an effect partially mitigated by housing focal males with young rather than co-aged groups. Functional analyses suggest that these microbiome changes impact ageing and immune responses. This is consistent with the hypothesis that the substantial effects of the social environment on individual health are mediated through intrinsic effects on the microbiome, and provides a model for understanding the mechanistic basis of the microbiota-gut-brain axis

Dataset associated with "Characterising the energy use of disabled people in the European Union towards inclusion in the energy transition"
This dataset contains household-level energy footprint (energy use) calculations based on consumption data from the Household Budget Surveys (HBS) disseminated by Eurostat, wave 2010. The dataset contains energy footprints (total and by consumption category) and categorical variables on poverty, energy poverty and disability, all of which generated by the authors. The dataset also contains household IDs, country codes and household weights generated by Eurostat and corresponding to the HBSs. The household and country ID variables are included in order to allow for households to be identifiable by users of the HBS dataset disseminated by Eurostat. For access to other variables in the HBSs (e.g. household size, income, population density etc.), which have been used in the statistical analysis, please seek microdata access through the official Eurostat portal. Designing environmental policy to take account of social difference is increasingly recognised as essential to address both effectiveness and justice concerns. To date there is limited research on the experiences of disabled people in the environmental literature, amounting to a failure to recognise this substantial constituency. Here we compare disabled households’ embodied energy use, income, risk of poverty and energy poverty, and other socio-demographics to other households in Europe. We find that households that include an economically inactive disabled person earn less and consume 10% less energy than other households, as well as being more likely to experience energy poverty. Disabled households have lower consumption than other households in most categories, with the exception of basic consumption such as food, energy at home (gas and electricity), water and waste services: in effect they have less, and sometimes inadequate access to resources. We conclude that more attention should be paid to disabled households needs to ensure a just energy transition
