Overland flow velocity and soil properties
Management of upland land-use has considerable potential for mitigating flood risk by increasing topsoil storage and slowing overland flow. This study measures soil properties and overland flow velocities in mature broadleaf woodland and wood pasture with an understorey dominated by either grass or bracken in Cumbria, UK
Multi-Scale Simulations Identify A Conserved Anionic Membrane Fingerprint for mPPases
Trajectory data from simulations of Tm-PPase, Vr-PPase and Cp-PPase in model bilayers performed under coarse-grained and atomistic conditions to define the interactions between these proteins and relevant bilayers
Dataset associated with 'The effect of mutation on an aggregation-prone protein: An in vivo, in vitro and in silico analysis'.
Aggregation of initially stably structured proteins is involved in more than 20 human amyloid diseases. Despite intense research, however, how this class of proteins assembles into amyloid fibrils remains poorly understood. We address this question using β2-microglobulin (β2m) as a model system, focusing on D76N-β2m that is involved in hereditary amyloidosis. Here, we identify the residues key to protect β2m from aggregation and we show that residue 76 has a unique ability to drive β2m aggregation in vivo and in vitro
Implantation of decellularized porcine pulmonary heart valves in sheep - dataset
Data on the in vivo performance of acellular porcine pulmonary heart valve roots in the right ventricular outflow tract of juvenile sheep (sheep weights, ultrasonography analysis). Data on the explanted acellular porcine roots at 1 month, 3 months and 12 months plus data on non-implanted ovine pulmonary roots and implanted ovine pulmonary roots at 12 months including: gross analysis, biomechanical properties, histological analysis, histomorphometric analysis of cellular population using a range of antibody markers, quantitative calcium analysis
Dataset for Local Heating Transforms Amorphous Calcium Carbonate to Single Crystals with Defined Morphologies
Dataset supporting a study of the pseudomorphic transformation of amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC). We demonstrate a straightforward method for controlling the crystallization of ACC thin films in which nucleation is first triggered using a heated probe, and growth is then sustained by incubating the film at a lower temperature. By independently controlling nucleation and growth we can readily generate sub-millimeter scale calcite single crystals when and where desired, create morphologies ranging from discs, to squares to serpentine strips, and generate arrays of crystals. We can also study the mechanism and energetics of crystallization of the ACC using in situ TEM and demonstrate continuity between the ACC and calcite at the growth front

Modeling the Mechanical Stiffness of Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma: dataset
The dataset are of raw images and collated data. The raw images are of bright field images and confocal images of the PDAC spheroid cultures with and without TGF-β supplement. The collated data are of the size of the cultures, the oscillatory shear rheology data of the mechanical stiffness assessment of the cultures, and results of efficacy of gemicitabine on the mechanically stiff PDAC cultures
Helix stabilization in a basic kinase-substrate motif: CD and NMR datasets
Mean residue ellipticities (CD) and chemical shifts (NMR) for peptide
