No full textThis data is associated with the article "Integration of a 2.1-THz Quantum Cascade Laser within an IEEE WM-130 Rectangular Metallic Waveguide", presented by the authors to the IRMMW-THz 2023 conference, Montreal, Canada. A 2.1-THz quantum cascade laser (QCL) has been integrated into an IEEE standard rectangular metallic waveguide for the first time. A (130 × 65)-μm 2 precision micromachined channel within a metallic module was used to form a fundamental WM-130 waveguide, in accordance with IEEE standard 1785.1-2012. We show that single-mode continuous-wave laser emission is obtained, with a Gaussian far-field divergence angle of 9°

No full textThe dissolution of wool yarns in the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methyl-imidazolium acetate [C2mim][OAc] has been investigated. Wool yarns were submerged into [C2mim][OAc] and dissolved for various times and temperatures before coagulating with water. Optical microscopy was used to track the yarn’s cross-sectional area. We propose that there are two competing dissolution processes, one rate-limited by disulfide bonds at low temperatures (LTs), and a second by hydrogen bonds at high temperatures (HTs), with a crossover point between the two regimes at 70 ℃. The corresponding activation energies were ELT = 127 ± 9 kJ/mol and EHT = 34 ± 1 kJ/mol. The remaining area of the dissolved wool yarn could be shifted via time–temperature superposition to plot a single master curve of area against time for both regions. Finally, the dissolution could be modelled by a diffusion process, giving self-diffusion coefficients for the [C2mim][OAc] ions (0.64–15.31 × 10−13 m2/s)
3D simulations of the exoplanet TRAPPIST-1e using WACCM6
Get PDFThe data is associated with the article titled ‘Degenerate interpretations of O3 spectral features in exoplanet atmosphere observations due to stellar UV uncertainties: a 3D case study with TRAPPIST-1e’. There are ten simulations of the atmosphere of the exoplanet TRAPPIST-1e. These are split into two sets of five. Each set has a different stellar input spectrum. One is with the P19 spectrum, and the other is the W21 spectrum. Then each set has oxygen concentrations of 100%, 10%, 1%, and 0.1% the present atmospheric level of oxygen (which has a mixing ratio of 21% by volume). Finally, there is a case which is not tidally locked. This dataset provides the data from the WACCM6 simulations which is needed to produce all of the figures and results in the article
