Community-based complex interventions to sustain independence in older people systematic review and network meta-analysis: effect estimates and findings dataset

    Get PDF
This dataset contains study effect estimates, and findings from network meta-analyses, for community-based complex interventions to sustain independence in older people. These datasets were produced in the course of conducting a systematic review registered with PROSPERO: https://www.crd.york.ac.uk/prospero/display_record.php?ID=CRD4201916219

Residues 2 to 7 of α-synuclein regulate amyloid formation via lipid-dependent and lipid-independent pathways

    No full text
Here, the role of residues 2-7 in the N-terminal region of αSyn are investigated in terms of their ability to regulate amyloid fibril formation in vitro and in vivo. Deletion of these residues (αSynΔN7) slows the rate of fibril formation in vitro and reduces the capacity of the protein to be recruited by wild-type (αSynWT) fibril seeds, despite cryo-EM showing a fibril structure consistent with those of full-length αSyn. Strikingly, fibril formation of αSynΔN7 is not induced by liposomes, despite the protein binding to liposomes with similar affinity to αSynWT. A Caenorhabditis elegans model also showed that αSynΔN7::YFP forms few puncta and lacks motility and lifespan defects typified by expression of αSynWT::YFP

Data to support Structural Consequences of Different Metal Compositions in the Doped Spin-Crossover Crystals [FezM1−z(bpp)2][BF4]2 (M = Ni, Zn; bpp = 2,6-Bis{pyrazol-1-yl}pyridine)

The behaviour of the crystallographic unit cell parameters during spin-crossover in [FezM1‒z(bpp)2][BF4]2 (bpp = 2,6-bis{pyrazol-1-yl}pyridine; M = Zn or Ni; 0 < z < 1) depends significantly on the dopant metal ion

Dynamic acetabular cup orientation in fast and slow walking total hip replacement patients: raw motion data, processed cup angles and statistical analyses.

    No full text
This dataset includes the input, raw output and processes data from a study investigating the orientation of the total hip replacement acetabular cup when implanted in the pelvis and during walking gait. The associated project aimed to understand the variation in cup orientation during gait compared to its orientation within the pelvic bone on implantation. This work is motivated by the refinement of testing protocol for total hip replacement devices and the understanding of the implications of cup implantation position during surgery. Movement data are used from two sub-groups of patients, with faster and slower self-selected walking speeds post total hip replacement. And the statistical analysis looks for any differences between in the groups in terms of dynamic orientation of the acetabular cup. Correlation analysis is also included, which illustrates the relationship between pelvic orientation measurements and acetabular cup orientations. That provide information on which aspects of dynamic cup orientation can be predicted simply from single pelvic angles and which are a more complex combination of multiple angular orientations. The data itself includes tabulated measurements from every stage of the analysis from the pelvic orientation angles, through the cup angles, to the high-level statistical outcomes

Estimates of hydro-climatic suitability for malaria transmission in Africa

    No full text
Hydrologically-based estimates of malaria season length across Africa. Estimates are made with water availability estimated using standard rainfall thresholds and more hydrologically-based estimates (including discharge and potential evaporation processes). Estimates of both malaria transmission season length and the number of months hydrologically-suitable for transmission (i.e. without temperature considerations) are provided separately

Model and Data: To signal or not to signal? A non-cooperative game-theoretic approach to discretionary communication between road users

    No full text
This dataset contains the results and the Python files which constitute the simulation package used in the paper. Reciprocal communication between road users is a vital element of road user interaction. Previous work has shown that non-cooperative game theory can effectively model and characterise communicative behaviour between road users and produce emergent benefits for both the issuer and recipient of communicative signals. We build on these findings by introducing discretionary communication to gain an advantage over the other road user by masking one’s intent if beneficial to do so. We conduct a series of experiments with simulated interactions and compare interaction outcomes where communication is mandatory against those where communication is discretionary. Our findings further support the conclusion that non-cooperative game theory is an effective paradigm for modelling and producing emergent behaviours which benefit the network. Moreover, we see that including a layer of discretionary communication reaps benefits in interaction outcome to the communicator. It also provides benefits in safety to all parties involved above and beyond the benefits seen from mandatory communication

Supplementary Information for "CirCrete: A multi-criteria performance-based decision support framework for end-of-life management of concrete"

    No full text
This Excel spreadsheet has been prepared and specifically tailored to exemplify how to conduct scenario calculations for the implementation of CirCrete, a multi-criteria based decision support framework that facilitates the end of life management of a concrete structure from a circular economy perspective. This spreadsheet has been prepared by the authors for demonstration purpose. This spreadsheet consists of a total of eight worksheets. The first is the introduction, the next five are for calculations related to the remanufacture and recycling/landfilling route, the sixth worksheet is for the refurbishment route in the original paper and the last worksheet is the reference list. Further explanatory notes are provided in the "Introduction worksheet
