Data associated with 'Microscopic and macroscopic properties of carbohydrate solutions in the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methyl-imidazolium acetate'
Solutions of glucose, cellobiose and microcrystalline cellulose in the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methyl-imidazolium acetate ([C2mim][OAc]) have been examined using low field (20 MHz) NMR relaxometry and rheology. The spin-lattice (T1) and spin-spin (T2) relaxation times have been determined from 30 °C to 70 °C inclusive for a range of concentrations (0 to 15 wt %) of each carbohydrate in [C2mim][OAc]. The zero shear rate viscosities for the same samples across the same temperature range were studied. The viscosity, NMR relaxometry and previously published diffusion data were analysed all together through Debye-Stokes-Einstein equations. Microscopically these systems behave as an “ideal mixture” of free ions and ions associated with the carbohydrate molecules. The molar ratio of carbohydrate OH groups to ionic liquid molecules, a, is the key parameter in determining the NMR relaxometry and hence the local microscopic environment of the ions. NMR relaxometry data are found to follow an Arrhenius type behavior and the difference in rotational activation energy between free and associated ions is determined at 6.2 ±0.5 kJ/mol
Data associated with ‘Impacts of prescribed burning on Sphagnum mosses in a long-term peatland field experiment’
This dataset consists of Sphagnum abundance and patch size data from the Hard Hill burning and grazing experiment at Moor House - Upper Teesdale National Nature Reserve in the North Pennines, UK
Self-assembling polymer filaments - dataset
The DSC, rheology and X-ray scattering data for a mixture of a bent-core liquid crystal with a calamitic liquid crystal are included in this dataset. The DSC data consists of a file on the heating of the mixture at a rate of 20 degrees per min, as well as a file which includes the heating and cooling over 2 runs of the same sample at a rate of 2 degrees per min. The rheology data consists of the storage modulus, loss modulus, and complex viscosity all as a function of temperature respectively. The X-ray scattering data consists of 4 files; three which are of the periodicity as a function of temperature and the fourth is of the periodicity as a function of time. The three temperature data sets include both heating and cooling runs. Four video files are included which show filament formation in real time. The director of the sample is aligned with one of the polarisers in a crossed polariser set up
Annotated Corpus of Arabic Al-Quran Question and Answer
AQQAC is a collection of approximately 2224 questions and answers about Al-Al-Quran. Each question and answer is annotated with the question ID, question word (particles), chapter number, verse number, question topic, question type, Al-Quran ontology concepts (Alqahtani & Atwell, 2018) and question source. The aim of this corpus is to provide a Question-Answering taxonomy for questions about Al-Quran. Additionally, this corpus might be used as a data set for testing and evaluating Islamic IR systems. The text of Al-Quran questions and answers were extracted from trusted two islamic sources: (1000 Su'al Wa Jawab Fi ALKORAN) was compiled by the famous Islamic scholar Ashur (2001). This book contains 1000 questions and answers about Al-Quran written in the Arabic language. Islam – Al-Quran and Tafseer is a website about Al-Quran that includes a description and a translation of Al-Quran and the reciting rules, the “Tajweed”. Additionally, this website has approximately 1224 questions and answers about Al-Quran in the Arabic language extracted from the Altabari Tafseer. Currently, this dataset contains 1224 annotated question-answers and the missing data that hasn’t been shared is due to copyright concerns
Recordings associated with "Goa, Mozambique, South Asia and Some Photographs of Ricardo Rangel: Interviews with Carla Maciel and Sílvia Braganca"
Using images by the Mozambican photographer Ricardo Rangel as a starting point, in the interviews below I ask members of the Goan community in Mozambique to reflect on questions of diasporic identity, historical experience and community relations between Goans and other South Asians during Portuguese colonialism in Mozambique
Train Units Scheduling Optimization
In this repository is stored 16 relevant datasets for the project "Train Unit Scheduling Optimization" funded by an EPSRC project EP/M007243/1 which finished in July 2018. This data, which were provided by Abellio and TransPennine Express, contains information on the train timetables, type train units, locations and a complete description in order to reproduce the experiments
Data associated with 'Self-Assembly of Fractal Liquid Crystal Colloids'
This dataset includes the following data that was used to construct Figure 3 of the associated publication: experimental measurements of the primary orbit capacity, numerical simulations of the characteristic orbit capacity and the associated ansat
HadGEM2 radiative kernels
Radiative kernels generated from the HadGEM2-ES climate model, using a pre-industrial climatology. Kernels are provided for both the 38 native model levels in HadGEM2 and the 17 standard CMIP5 pressure levels. Changes in top-of-atmosphere (TOA) radiative flux and surface radiative flux are provided for perturbations in atmospheric temperature of 1 K, specific humidity (change in specific humidity that preserves relative humidity for an increase in temperature of 1 K), surface (skin) temperature of 1 K and surface albedo of 1 % (absolute). For the 38-level kernels the model pressure level and thickness (in pressure coordinates) of the layer is also provided. Contributions to longwave (LW), shortwave (SW) and net fluxes are produced for temperature and water vapour
Scripts associated with 'Identifying Shared Pathways Across Multiple Muscle Groups of the Human Upper Limb'
This dataset contains the scripts used to conduct Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 of my PhD thesis 'Identifying Shared Pathways Across Multiple Muscle Groups of the Human Upper Limb'. In Chapter 3, I describe a pipeline which enables the time at peak response to stimulation to be marked in EMG data, and then measurements of instantaneous power spectral density to be taken at marked time points using the wavelet synchro-squeezed transform. In Chapter 4, I describe onset and offset marking of muscle bursts during isometric muscle contractions, calculation of intermuscular coherence in bands identified in Chapter 3, wavelet correlation analysis, and muscle synergy analysis using these data. Scripts are written in the CED Spike 2 script language, VBA, BASH, Matlab, and R. The scripts are subdivided into .zip files by the chapter in which they were used. There are associated README files in the .zip files for the appropriate chapter, as well as the subfolders containing the scripts for different steps of the analysis/processing
Dataset associated with 'A new mechanical stellar wind feedback model for the Rosette Nebula'
In the paper, we have used the AMR magnetohydrodynamic code, MG, to perform 3D magnetohydrodynamic simulations with self-gravity of stellar feedback in molecular clouds formed through the action of thermal instability in order to reproduce the Rosette Nebula. This repository contains the raw data to accompany various figures in this peer-reviewed publication in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society
