    إنَّ الخطابَ الشّعريّ الحدیث لم یعدْ مُجرّد کلمات وأفکار؛ بل أصبح یعتمد علی الرسوم والأسالیب المختلفة، ولكل شاعر خصوصیّة تمیّزه عن سائر الشعراء في انتقاء الأسالیب البصرية، ولربّما یعید تشكیل النص عدّة مرّات لیناسب الدلالة الشّعریة المقصودة إیصالها إلی المتلقّي، ولسهولة هذا الأمر أخذ الشّعراء یبدعون فنوناً بصریة حدیثة علی الورق لسهولة التعبیر بالشکل والصورة وقد أصبحت هذه التقنيات البصرية من أهمّ خصائص التعبیر الشعري الحديث. من أبرز الشعراء الذین اتّجهوا إلی التعبیر بالأسالیب البصریة هو الشاعر العراقي-العُماني المعاصر"عبدالرزاق الربیعي". فقد وظّف هذا النوع من التعبیر في تجربته الشعریة لرفد نصوصه بشحنات دلالیة وفقاً للرؤی والأفكار التي یرید التعبیر عنها. یهدف هذا البحث وفقاً للمنهج الوصفي- التحلیلي إلی دراسة ظاهرة حداثویة أتت بها ثورة التجدید الشعریة وهي ظاهرة التشكیل البَصَري في القصیدة العربیّة الحدیثة، کما یسعی لتطبیق الإطار البصري في قصائد عبدالرزاق الربیعي. وقد توصّل البحث إلی أنّ أبرز المظاهر البصریة المستخدمة لدی الربيعي هي علامات الترقیم، والتنقیط، والصمت، والسواد والبیاض، والشكل المتموّج، وتفتیت الكلمات. وكلّ هذه المظاهر تعبّر عن اضطراب الشاعر وتوتّره واغترابه عن الوطن ووحشته، ويکشف عن تجسید آلام الشاعر ومدی حنینه إلی الوطن النائي البعید

    The effect of masonry infill walls on the reinforced concrete frames behavior under lateral load

    The reinforced concrete structures with masonry infill walls are widely used to construct buildings in Algeria, as in many parts of the world. According to earthquake analysis, this type of construction can undergo serious damage under seismic load. The interaction between the infill wall and the surrounding reinforced concrete structure is considered a key parameter, which could trigger damage and even collapse in self-stable frame buildings. To study the behavior of this type of structures and the wall–frame interaction, four half-scale single-storey, single-bay reinforced concrete unfilled and unfilled frames were constructed and tested under in-plane lateral load. Furthermore, the experimental results were analyzed using the Digital Image Correlation (DIC) technique giving a detailed analysis of displacement and strain fields. The wall–frame interaction was evaluated in terms of displacement field evolution and interface slip in the contact contour. The masonry infill wall demonstrated a significant influence on the in-plane lateral response of this type of structure. The analysis of the results of the experiment are discussed in this paper

    Investigation on cyclic behaviour of FRC beams incorporating copper slag as sustainable waste

    Scarcity of the natural sand and large availability of industrial wastes give the way to utilise the industrial by-product in concrete production. This paper showcases the performance of concrete composite containing copper slag and polypropylene fibre under cyclic loading. Fibrillated polypropylene fibre of 0% (P0), 0.2% (P1), 0.4% (P2) 0.6% (P3) volume fractions and 40% copper slag (C40) are used together. The experimental work was conducted on the reinforced concrete beams of size 100mm x 200mm x 900mm. The criteria considered for discussion are yield power, yield deflection, ultimate strength, ultimate deflection, ductility factors and energy dissipation. It is observed that when subjected to monotonic loading and cyclic loading respectively, the overall load carrying power of C40P2 beam is 5 per cent and 2.71 per cent higher than the reference section. The specimen C40P2 has a ductility factor 25.05 per cent higher than the control beam. Energy absorption capacity of C40P2 is 72.79% more than the normal concrete. It is therefore concluded that, under cyclic loading, the output of 40% copper slag with 0.4% of polypropylene fibres find superior than control concrete

    The Imagistic Pattern and Perception of the Journey in the Poetry of Ka’ab bin Zuhair Dr. Fatma Mohammed Al Sowaidi Associate Professor at the Department of Arabic Language College of Arts and Sciences, Qatar University Although the poetic image has always been problematic in poetry, it has been the mark of the poet's uniqueness. This hidden secret lies in the fact that even if the poet’s world is totally his own, it still holds many meanings. Therefore, the objective of this study is to define the borderlines of the imagistic pattern in the poetry of Ka’ab ibn Zuhair, for his metaphors and figures are far from random. Rather, they form harmonious patterns that build the human experience and cognitive perception of Ka'ab. Additionally, they show how the poet created his perceptions of rigid materialistic dumb images and how he converted them into a lively world of poetic imagery. Furthermore, they reflect the true essence of his experience and notions, his constant search for the meaning of his life and existence, and his constant search for his rebellious self.     Mechanical and durability performance of concrete incorporating graphene oxide

    This current investigation was conducted to explore the influence of graphene oxide (GO) on the mechanical and durability properties of normal concrete. A total of five mixes were prepared in addition of laboratory synthesized GO ranging from 0-0.8% with an increment of 0.02% by weight of cement. The synthesized GO was characterized using SEM, FT-IR and XRD techniques.  The workability, initial surface absorption and sorptivity values were observed to have reduced with increase in GO content in the cement matrix. Whereas, the ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV), compressive and tensile strength were observed to enhance with percentage increment of GO in the concrete compare to control mix. The microstructural analysis was performed using SEM/EDX at 90 days curing age. The mix with 0.08% GO showed better result compared to rest of the mixes with GO and control mix

    Crashworthiness of Highway Lamp Post against Vehicle Impact

    Three dimensional numerical investigations has been carried out on steel lamp post against vehicle impact using ABAQUS/Explicit finite element code. The response of steel pole was studied against vehicle impact subjected to varying speed and mass of vehicle, and varying thickness and impact location of pole. The geometry of steel pole was considered on the basis of Indian standard recommendations and choice of pole is based on conventional highway lighting applications supporting luminaire mounting heights. The constitutive and fracture behavior of steel pole has been predicted using JC model available in ABAQUS/Explicit and the material parameters of JC model for the available in literature. The response of metallic pole was studied against varying speed, mass of vehicle and impact location considering the influential factors which affects the pole significantly. In addition to that, the response of pole was studied against the varying thickness, i.e. the effective thickness of cylindrical pole may be decreased at later stage due to corrosion and environmental effects. The responses of steel pole have been studied and presented in light of reaction forces, deflection and Von-Mises stresses
