Experimental analysis, predictive modelling and optimization of some physical and mechanical properties of aluminium 6063 alloy based composites reinforced with corn cob ash.
Get PDFIn the present work, aluminium alloy 6063 reinforced with various weight percentages of corncob ash (CCA) particles (2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%, 12.5% and 15%) were prepared using stir casting process. Some physical and mechanical properties (density, % porosity, hardness, wear index, tensile strength and impact strength) of the produced composite were characterized and compared with that of the matrix alloy. Corncob ash reinforcements were observed to have been distributed homogeneously in the Aluminium Matrix with pockets of reinforcement particles agglomeration. The reinforcement of CCA particles improved the hardness, wear index and the density of the produced composite over that of the base alloy. There was a reduction in the tensile and impact strengths of the composites compared to the unreinforced matrix alloy. Statistical evaluation and optimization using mixture design of the Design-Expert software package (Stat-Ease) revealed the optimal concentrations of the matrix and the reinforcement mixture and their effects on the studied properties of the developed composites. Regression models were developed for predicting and optimizing the various physical and mechanical properties of the composites. Optimization solution indicates that optimal mixture components of 92.081 and 7.919% (matrix and reinforcement wt%) will yield optimal composite properties’ responses. Based on the improved hardness, wear-resistance and low density of the CCA reinforced AA6063 base composites produced could be employed in the production of automotive components requiring lightweight, load-bearing and wear-resistant composites
Pervious concrete: a state-of-the-art review
Get PDFPervious concrete is a special type of concrete, achieved by either minimizing or excluding the sand from the normal concrete mix. In recent years, the practice of pervious concrete as a pavement material in small volume roads and parking lots has added much significance due to its constructive and eco-friendly characteristics. It is used to lessen the problem of local flooding in municipal areas and is significant tool to lessen the burden of municipal drainage system. This paper reviews the various properties, factors controlling the performance of pervious concrete, clogging mechanism and de-clogging techniques and lastly the factors that enhance the life span and properties of durability of pervious concrete are discussed. Durability tests of pervious concrete like, permeability, surface abrasion, freeze thaw and thermal conductivity are discussed. Furthermore, controlling factors such as water to cement ratio, aggregates, admixtures, compaction and curing are also discussed in this review. There occurs an expensive range for future research to recognize the better material that will make it a favorable ecological roadway material for high speed and high-volume traffic in coming times

No full textيسعى هذا البحث إلى تحديد مفهوم المتكلم في فكر الناقد الروسي ميخائيل باختين، الذي عرفت معه الدراسات الأدبية و اللسانية على حد السواء نقلة نوعية، أفضت إلى تغيير بعض المفاهيم في التعامل مع النصوص الأدبية، لذلك عمدنا إلى تتبع مفهوم المتكلم في مؤلفات باختين و رصدنا العلاقة بينه و بين مفهوم التعدد اللغوي، كما حاول هذا البحث استجلاء مختلف الصور و الأشكال التي يظهر فيها المتكلم في الخطاب الأدبي مع التركيز على أهم الخصائص التي تميز لغة المتكلم على جميع المستويات التركيبية منها و الدلالية، وقد خرج هذا البحث بجملة من النتائج منها أن صور المتكلم تتعدد و تتنوع في الخطاب الأدبي وذلك بتعدد الأصوات كما أن لغة المتكلم هي ما يصنع تفرد الخطاب الروائي

No full textلقد أجمع النّحاة على القرآن الكريم من حيث الفصاحة، ومن فضله على سائر الكتب السّماويّة، أنّه أُنزل على أحرف متعدّدة وقراءات مختلفة. ولمّا كان الأساس في فهم هذه الأحرف وتذوّق تلك القراءات هو توجيهها ومعرفة مواقع الإعراب، عملنا على دراسة نقوم فيها بجمع آراء النّحويّين الكوفيّين من تلك الكتب التي لها صلة وثيقة بالقراءات لما لها من أهمّية عظمى، فهي فوق حفظها وصيّانتها للقرآن الكريم وثيقة تاريخية؛ لأنّها تصّور اللّغة من جميع نواحيها. فقد أخذ الكوفيّون بالقراءات جميعها، وعقدوا على ما جاء فيها كثيرا من أصولهم وأحكامهم؛ لأنّهم لم يكونوا كالبصريّين رجال فلسفة ومنطق، وإنّما كانوا يهتمّون بالرّواية والنّقل، ولا يحاولون أن يحتكموا إلى العقل فكانوا إذا رجّحوا القراءات التي يجتمع عليها القرّاء،لا يرفضون غيرها ولا يغلّطونها؛ لأنّها عندهم صواب؛ ذلك لأنّهم قبلوا جميع لغات العرب. ولتوضيح ذلك اعتمدنا على نماذج ممّا جاء به كلّ من الكسائيّ، والفرّاء، وثعلب
