Prejudices on Concerning Human Rights Vis-a-Vis Islam
In the history of thought, defending human rights and freedom, positivist and materialist views are critical of religion in general and Islam in particular. Islam as a divine religion with its theoretical and practical dimensions has been the guarantor of human rights. Positivist and materialist views on every occasion ready to blame and identify the Islamic concept of servitude (to God) with slavery. But if we examine Islam in-depth with a philosophical mind, we can see that the Islamic concept of devotional servitude accommodates genuine freedom which intends to protect the health of both the body and the soul. Positivist and materialist minds consider the issue of human rights as their own, and religious sides approach this issue reluctantly due to the rhetoric of human rights devoid of religious rhetoric. Finding reasonable answers to the questions of what the source of human honor is and what makes human being meaningful will bring closer to each other the positivist/materialist views and religious views
Potential of Inquiry-Based Learning to Train Student\u27s Metacognitive and Science Process Skill
The learning process in high schools in West Papua tends to focus on students’ cognitive enhancement and ignore the aspect skill. School is the frontline to develop students’ skills. Metacognitive and process skills are the two skills needed by the students, and both should be trained and developed. These two skills help students to implement an investigation process in which the investigation process can be well utilized using inquiry-based learning. This study aims to find out the differences in metacognitive and process skills between students treated with inquiry-based learning and those who are taught using conventional learning. This experimental study was carried out at Grade X of senior high school students of SMA Negeri 1 Manokwari. The result reveals a significant metacognitive skill of 0.000 < α 0.05, and science process skill of 0.001 < α 0.05 of students who were taught using the inquiry-based learning more than those who were taught using the conventional learning. It can be concluded that there is a significant improvement in students’ metacognitive and process skills for those who are taught using inquiry-based learning compared to those who are taught using conventional learning. Therefore, inquiry-based learning has the potential to appropriately train students’ metacognitive and science process skill
Developing an Instrument for Assessing the Physics Cognitive Learning Achievement of High School Students through Local Wisdom-Based Fieldwork
This study aims to reveal (1) the construct and (2) the characteristics of the developed instrument for assessing Physics cognitive learning achievement of high school students in outdoor learning models through local wisdom-based fieldwork. This research was a research and development using the approach developed by Mardapi (2012: 110). The steps taken included (1) preparing instrument specifications, (2) writing the instrument, (3) reviewing the instrument, (4) doing instrument trial, (5) analyzing the instrument, (6) improving the instrument, assemble the test (8) implementing the test, and (9) interpreting measurement result. The results of the study showed that the Instrument of cognitive skills consisted of 50 items with two-tier multiple choices focused on indicators of cognitive skills. The instrument was categorized fit the PCM 1PL and the difficulty level of the items ranges from -1,00 to 1,22 which means the items were in a good category. The reliability of the items was 0,89 for the ability ranging from -2 to 2 with standard error measurement 0,23, which means it was in a very high category

The paper examined the challenges encountered during data collection in a field survey. There existed some variations between oral narratives and documented evidence on the history of Islam in Yauri Emirate. Management of such conflicting data from primary and secondary sources in academic research was one of the most tasking endeavors because it required corroboration people who witnessed the events and experts with authentic versions of the historical development of the event under investigation.
