A Study of Embracing Adolescent Islamic Moral Values at Two Schools in Rural Area
Adolescent behaviour that embraces a lifestyle incongruous with Islamic moral values in the micro-social environment may impede the nation\u27s development in the future. This phenomenon has emerged as a crucial and pressing issue in adopting Islamic moral values among adolescents. This research endeavored to gauge the impact and correlation of adhering to Islamic moral vertical and horizontal values on adolescent behaviour. The study also indicated variations in adopting vertical and horizontal moral principles among male and female adolescents. The research centred on senior high school students residing in rural regions of the North District in Aceh province. Three hypotheses were formulated and analyzed through IMB-SPSS.22.0. Data from 136 students aged between 16-19 years were processed using instruments sourced from the Muslim Personality-Religiosity Inventory (MPRI), which comprised twenty indicators, and t-tests and r2 were conducted. The research indicated a significant correlation and Influence between Islamic moral vertical and horizontal values and adolescent behavior. Furthermore, the study discovered that male and female students embrace vertical and horizontal moral values differently at a significant level. This finding confirmed that adopting Islamic moral values shapes students\u27 conduct. Therefore, all adolescents must embrace Islamic moral values as they engage in their communities
Ideological Conflict in Rembang (Case Study: Cement Mining Conflict in Rembang)
The ongoing conflict in Watuhputih has escalated into a contentious and complex issue that continues to capture public attention. The debates have given rise to a fierce clash of ideas, concepts, and interpretations of laws, ultimately leading to numerous lawsuits. This study uses a qualitative research approach with Wehr and Bartos analysis to analyze conflict dynamics in the cement factory conflict case in Rembang, Central Java. The qualitative method used a case study. Data collection techniques used in-depth interviews with sources from 20 informants and documentation from various mass media. The results of this study indicate that conflict dynamics are divided into pre-conflict, confrontation, and crisis. This study concludes that the conflict in Rembang has turned into an ideological conflict. Each group claims that the ideology understood the most correct between environmental sustainability, traditional and modern, capitalist. A dark history of conflict and prolonged dynamics causes ideological conflicts. The record of the conflict’s journey into a social movement in Rembang is a series of conflicts between the community and small-scale mining companies previously in conflict areas from the 90th year
EFL Students’ Perception in Indonesia and Taiwan on Using Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Writing Skills
Technological advancements in education have introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a transformative tool to enhance academic writing skills in English as a Foreign Language (EFL). This study explored EFL students’ perceptions in Indonesia and Taiwan regarding the role of AI in improving their writing abilities. Using qualitative research methods, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 20 second-year students specializing in English at an Islamic State University in Indonesia and a National University in Taiwan, who actively use AI tools in their writing processes. Analysis based on Creswell’s thematic framework revealed positive perceptions of AI, with benefits such as improved grammar, sentence structure, paraphrasing skills, vocabulary enrichment, and efficiency in topic generation. However, concerns also emerged about excessive reliance on AI, reduced creativity, and issues of plagiarism and authenticity. These findings highlighted the dual-edged nature of AI in academic writing, emphasizing the need for careful integration and risk mitigation to fully leverage AI’s educational benefits. This research enriched the discourse on technological advancements in EFL education and provides insights for curriculum developers, educators, and policymakers to optimize AI use in academic settings. The practical implications of these findings included strategies to enhance the effectiveness of AI in education and foster innovation in EFL teaching
Acehnese Ethnoscience as an Interdisciplinary Approach in Physics Education: Innovating in the Era of Merdeka Belajar
Various efforts have been made to improve students’ understanding of basic physics concepts, but their mindset in constructing knowledge remains problematic. The learning process has yet to engage long-term memory, preventing meaningful analysis-level understanding. This research aimed to activate students’ thinking patterns based on ethnoscience through learning tools such as modules, semester learning plans (RPS), and student worksheets (LKM) that are valid, practical, and efficient. The research used the R&D method with the ADDIE approach, involving 2 expert validators and all Physics Education students at FKIP USK enrolled in basic physics courses in 2022. The results indicated that the ethnoscience-based basic physics learning tools of the Acehnese community, which include modules, RPS, and LKM, effectively supported Merdeka Belajar and have been validated for their validity, practicality, and efficiency. Students were highly motivated and impressed by the concept of measurement in physics, which has long been practiced by the Acehnese community, such as in paying zakat fitrah during Ramadan. The scientifically understood volume-measuring tools used by students were not significantly different from the ethnoscience tools used by the Acehnese community. Ethnoscience facilitates meaningful learning by analyzing context, content, and literacy

Posthumanism in Indonesian Short Stories and their Relevance to the Development of Critical Literacy
Posthumanism discusses the uncertainty of humankind’s future and the changing perspectives on humanity and life. In the Indonesian context, the issues of posthumans have not been discussed, while the usage of robot and artificial intelligence technologies has been proliferating in the related industry for several years. This article discusses two Indonesian short stories, Andina Dwifatma’s “Linus Damono” (2018) and Erwin Setia’s “Cerita Dua Robot dan Pemuda Penyendiri” (2019). Close reading is used in the data collection and analysis of the two short stories. It reveals that the short stories display non-human subjects\u27 narratives. The two short stories also show non-human subjects that are/ are not humanistic and humans’ (total?) control over non-human subjects. Hence, the two short stories present two contradictory concerns on the projection of the human future: utopia and dystopia. The issues revealed from the short stories are essential to create awareness of the potential benefits and threats of using robotic and artificial intelligence technologies. Furthermore, this article also shows that the two short stories can be used as reading materials to develop critical literacy on posthuman issues
Tourism Education Development on the Coastline: Challenges Empirical Study on Islamic Law Province
Tourism is one of the contributors to the country’s foreign exchange. Aceh has abundant natural resources. However, natural wealth without adequate human resources cannot be processed as natural resources. Apart from that, the issue of sharia tourism or halal tourism is a debate that affects the smooth running of tourism in Aceh. This research aimed to explore the challenges of developing tourism education in the coastal region of Aceh. The method used was a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, observation, and searching for important documents from both tourism education institutions and agencies related to tourism development in Aceh. The research results found that Aceh has abundant natural resources both in terms of religious tourism, natural tourism, and historical and cultural tourism. However, educational institutions in Aceh to support tourism were still very minimal, especially for universities; Aceh only had one study program at a private university. Meanwhile, the challenge faced in developing tourism education was the lack of professional teaching staff in the tourism sector, apart from educational institutions, which were also still minimal. Likewise, Sharia tourism regulations were not yet legally strong. This research recommends that the government pay more massive attention to Tourism Education Institutions in Aceh
Sompa Tanah in Makassar Bugis Customary Marriages: Legal, Religious, and Cultural Perspectives
The submission of dowry in the form of land (Sompa Tanah), as practiced by the Bugis community in Bone, reflects the flexibility of local mechanisms in addressing real-world challenges based on the ideal values of tradition. This study is important in the broader discourse on dowry, which often highlights cultural legitimacy in perpetuating violence and the subordination of women. The provision of Sompa Tanah in Bugis society serves as a cultural, legal, and religious mechanism to establish legal certainty regarding rights and obligations in marital relations. This descriptive qualitative research draws on observation and interview data, which are then analyzed contextually to understand their relevance to social management within the community. The findings indicate that Sompa Tanah functions as a legal mechanism that not only regulates rights and obligations in marriage but also provides legal certainty within the marital bond. The legal security afforded to women serves as a safeguard for their rights as wives and mothers within a patriarchal society. As a legal mechanism, Sompa Tanah ensures social order and gains customary and cultural legitimacy, which strengthens the position of women in the Bugis social structure. Additionally, marriage, as a social bond, carries the risk of divorce, which is also legally acknowledged. Consequently, this paper recommends further comparative studies to explore the practice of Sompa Tanah across different regions to gain more comprehensive and in-depth knowledge
The Relationship of Muzakki to Increasing Individual Welfare: Analysis at Baznas Tanjungpinang City
Every human wants his life to be prosperous because one’s welfare is the characteristic of happiness. Welfare is even a benchmark for the stability of a country. From the Islamic perspective, one way to achieve welfare is to pay zakat. This article describes the relationship of muzakki to increasing individual welfare. The method used in this research is quantitative. The population of this study was non-ASN muzakki, who were registered at the Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS) of Tanjungpinang City as many as 200 muzakki. One hundred thirty-two (132) people were sampled; however, because the method used was purposive sampling, only 44 people were sampled and carried out randomly. The results showed an effect of zakat on the welfare of muzakki (r) of 0.660 percent. The regression line equation with a value of Y = 1.199 + 0.689X means that there is a positive influence between zakat and the welfare of muzakki of 0.689. If you want to improve welfare, muzakki must increase the quantity in zakat; the probability value shows a significant value of 0.019. The considerable value is 0.019 < 0.05, so H1 is accepted
Transforming Mosque Financial Management: Utaut Insights into E-Payment Readiness
This paper aims to summarize studies on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) in e-payment readiness and identify the research gap. The study used a systematic literature review method. A total of 33 articles on UTAUT were published over the past five years, from 2019 to 2023. The 33 articles were the subject of the study. The data were collected by studying documentation of several previous articles through database searches such as Web of Science and Scopus. The data analysis techniques were quantitative (statistical) and qualitative (descriptive). This study indicated that 33 articles highlighted UTAUT in e-payment readiness, demonstrating that there is still a lack of studies involving e-payments at mosque institutions, especially among management groups. The findings will provide mosque authorities with a comprehensive overview of mosque financial digitalization for more relevant and efficient fund collection methods
