Renewable Energy and Rural Economic Development Strategies: Field Data from Bavaria and Implications for Japan
Get PDFRegional development through the introduction and use of renewable energy sources is attracting much attention. A major point of contention concerns the formulation of policies and institutional structuring to facilitate a virtuous circle when incorporating renewable energy in regional economic cycles. These issues require a comprehensive approach that integrates the perspectives of public policy, local communities, economy and industry. This paper examines the impact of introducing renewable energy on a local economy and the role of local communities in rural areas such as Bavaria (Germany), where field research was conducted. Chinese game applications in the Japanese market; An analysis of Cultural Fusion and“ Japanese-Style Games” Made by Chinese
Get PDFIn recent years, game applications from China have entered the Japanese market and have had a big impact. In this paper, we analyze the characteristics of several representative titles from Chinese game applications. We try to answer the following questions. Are Chinese products treated as a different culture by the Japanese market and users? Are “Japanese-style games” always made by Japanese or Japanese game companies? We show that the traditional views about and defining “Japanese-style games” are changing under the influence of globalization and the restructuring of the game industry.近年，中国発のゲームアプリが日本市場に進出し，影響力を強めている。本論では，数多くの中国製ゲームアプリの中から，いくつか代表的なタイトルを例に挙げて，その特徴を分析した。中国製ゲームは日本市場とユーザーに異文化として扱われているのか？「日系ゲーム」は必ず日本人もしくは日本のゲーム会社によって作られるのか？「日系ゲーム」についての従来の考え方と定義は，ゲーム業界のグローバル化に影響され，転換しつつあることを示す。departmental bulletin pape

Get PDFThe Japanese Colonial Bureaucrat, YOSHIMURA Gentaro, who worked for the Colonial Bureau, established in 1917, wrote numerous Reports on the British Colonial Policy. In one of his Reports entitled, Eiteikoku no Toitsu Mondai（Problems of British Imperial Unity）, he researched the situation of the British Empire and the Debates concerning the Relation between the Britain and her Dominions. Design Principles for Service-Learning Projects Found in Teachers’ Narratives
Get PDFWhat design principles are effective for realizing and sustaining service-learning projects? The author seeks an answer for this question by examining teacher narratives. Prior research on service-learning has not focused much on this body of material, so this study attempts to extract and categorize design principles from teacher narratives that may prove useful for future practice. As a result, 22 design principles related to four categories （place, community, artifacts, and activity) were extracted. The results of the analysis show that it is important to match the characteristics and expertise of the university/department with the project. This would allow students to view their participation in the project as a series of learning practices at the university. It is also important to design the mediation of activities, including organizations that serve as hubs and mechanisms to connect people to each other. This allows a project to become
