Assistance for Bhutanese Refugees in Nepal through AHURA JAPAN
Get PDFIn 2008 Bhutan changed from an absolute monarchy to a constitutional one, after 100 years of ‘dictatorship’, worldwide nobody had cared about it. Amnesty International has been the first actor examining the human rights violations in Bhutan in 1989/90. This involvement led finally to the founding of AHURA JAPAN （Association of Human Rights Activists Japan） in 1993. This NGO sent many appeal cards to many relevant politicians in Bhutan, Nepal, India and UN, asking for a political solution of the refugee issue.
The strategies of AHURA JAPAN had been a holistic one, not just focusing on one form of assistance, but in accordance of the needs of the refugees, implementing different activities the same time in a continuous way. It started with assistance for documentation, for treatment of torture and rape victims and providing assistance for different needing sectors in education. Most of the advocacy work focused on the dissemination of the truth about the history and present situation of the refugee issue within Japanese society.
The paper also examines the role of the （Japanese） media and society and the link between the refugee issue and the promulgation of GNH （Gross National Happiness） by the government of Bhutan, starting 1998. The essence of GNH is also analyzed.
It also shows especially the role of UNHCR, in dealing with the conflict, which could not bring peace and justice to the refugees, only by sending them to third countries, which also divided the refugee community.
The implementing of ‘democratic’ features after 2008 and the 2010 census can be viewed as the consequences of worldwide activities criticizing Bhutan’s handling of the refugee issue. The role of AHURA JAPAN can be seen as a small contribution to this process.departmental bulletin pape

There are more students who study Japanese as a second language than those who specialize in Japanese. In order to understand the status of Japanese language education as a second language at applied universities, we conducted a questionnaire survey mainly among students majoring in computer science at applied universities in Jinan. The Relationship between Educational Volunteer Activities, University Learning and Vocational Readiness
Get PDFThis study examines the relationship between educational volunteer activities, task-value, learning behavior and vocational readiness. It finds that university students who volunteer for educational activities build higher task-value and vocational readiness than students who don’t participate. Also, it shows subjective participation frequency in educational activities positively correlates task-value, learning behavior and vocational readiness. Recent studies on educational volunteer activity analyzed its role in motivating students to seek employment as teachers and gaining knowledge and experiences of what an educator’s work involves. Here the broader role played by educational activities in building learning incentives and vocational readiness are discussed.本研究では，学校体験活動と学内での講義等に対する価値意識や学習行動さらには職業レディネスとの関連性について検証した。検証の結果，学校体験活動へ参加した学生は，参加していない学生と比較して課題価値，職業レディネスが高い傾向にあった。また，学校体験活動への主観的参加頻度，課題価値，学習行動および職業レディネスの関連性を検証したところ，部分的ではあるが各下位尺度において正の相関関係が示された。
これまでの先行研究の多くが，学校体験活動が教職志望学生の教職志望意識の高まりや教職に関する知識および経験に関わる効果についての検証であったが，本研究において，これら学外活動における大学での講義などの学内での学習に関する効果についての知見を得ることができた。departmental bulletin pape
Background of Community Mobile Sales Promotion by a Social Welfare Council and Regional Cooperative: A Case Study of Izumiotsu City
Get PDFThis report clarifies background of the collaboration leading to the implementation of a community mobile sales initiative between the Social Welfare Council of Izumiotsu City （Osaka prefecture） and the Osaka Izumi Citizens’ Co-op. The Social Welfare Council, needing to address the crisis of weakening neighborhood associations, promoted a “rebuilding connections” project. It requested the Citizens’ Co-op to implement mobile sales for community residents. The Co-op responded by organizing a mobile service and has seen a great degree of success. The service provides many benefits locally and by doing so has rebuilt community connections. A result of this collaboration is the creation of a mutually favorable public-private relationship between these organizations and local residents.本報告は，泉大津市社会福祉協議会と大阪いずみ市民生協が連携して移動販売を実施するに至った経緯を明らかにすることを目的とする。地域福祉を進める泉大津市社会福祉協議会は，自治会が弱体化していることへの危機感を持っていた。このことから，地域での「つながりの再構築」を図ることを目指し，泉大津市社会福祉協議会は，大阪いずみ市民生協に移動販売の実施を要請した。大阪いずみ市民生協は，泉大津市社会福祉協議会からの要請に応え，移動販売を実施し，順調に推移してきている。移動販売が実施されたことにより，地域でのつながりが再構築され，両組織と地域住民がWin- Win- Winの関係になっている。departmental bulletin pape
Integration Feeling in a Former Bhutanese Refugee Community: A Study of an Interview Survey Conducted in Adelaide
Get PDFThe author has actively examined issues concerning Bhutanese refugees since 1990 and subsequently published his findings （Ringhofer, 2002, 2005, 2010）. These articles have focused on the shift of emphasis from the possible return of refugees to Bhutan to resettlement in a third host nation.
This article analyzes the Bhutanese community in Adelaide, which represents about half of the Bhutanese population residing in Australia. The community has existed there since 2008. Another reason for choosing the Adelaide community was because its members come from a diversity of religious, ethnic and caste backgrounds.
A survey was conducted in August 2018. One hundred （100） community members were interviewed to understand their sentiments towards integration. Data relating to arrival date, age, profession, housing condition, English proficiency, evaluation of Australia’s immigration and integration policy, contribution to community, cultural identity, caste discrimination were collected and analyzed with particular attention to the interdependency of these markers.
After UNHCR closed the Bhutanese refugee camps in Nepal at the end of 2020, a return to the Bhutan homeland has become very difficult. For this reason, Bhutanese refugees will continue to seek entrance and integration into Australian society.departmental bulletin pape

The video game world is generally considered a “level” space by virtue of being built by members with common interests and hobbies. However, as this space is also influenced by society and culture, it may be developing locally or becoming more fragmented.
We will analyze these issues: what kind of space is the game space for the player? If there is an equal chance of game space being open to players, in what sense is this possible?本論ではインターネットというヴァーチャルな空間の中でも，とりわけ，ゲームの世界に注目し，それがどのような空間なのかを問う。世界中からアクセスすることが可能なオンラインゲームの空間は，グローバル化されたものなのだろうか，それともローカルなものに留まるのだろうか。
ゲームの世界は一般に，共通の趣味と興味を有しているメンバーによって構築されているという理由によって，フラットな空間を維持していると考えられている。しかし，この空間もまた社会や文化の影響を受ける以上，ローカルな発展，あるいは，分断が進んでいる可能性がある。
