ALTRUISME SEMU DI SEKOLAH: Analisis terhadap Praktek-praktek Kekerasan dan Keterlibatan School Stakeholder dalam Kegiatan Inisiasi Sekolah
Get PDFFor over decades in Indonesian public high school, freshmen orientation program in form of school initiation has been perceived as process that leads to altruistic behavior; consisted of solidarity, closely group interaction, deeper understanding on school’s living values, and internal norms. However, its implementation is currently raising many protests of educational experts and scholars as well as become a point of vocal in public areas because violent actions are profoundly practiced as ways to infitrate those altruism and potentially inflct another precedent thought that the activities could be alternative for individual’ growth in near future. Accordingly, this research conducted in one of public school in Yogyakarta province attempts to analyze the involvement of school stakeholders throughout the ongoing process in the school initiation and to identify why misleading concept of education remains applied by school’ stakeholders. Therefore, the fial recommendation of this research is subjected not only to the school stakeholders, but also relevant boards in the government, where the school aparatus should highly involve parents in making decision and implement accountable action in disseminating information pertinent to education process, the relevant board of education in governmental sector should also increase the partnership with local non-governmental organization who has areas of working in the peace and education to seek and design relevant alternative programs for the sake of eradicating violent actions in the school. Local community situated in the school’s surroundings should be also actively involved by respective schools for some of community development-related activities. The last mentioned recommendation is purposively to have students understand deeper and comprehend throroughly the use of knowledge that they learn at school for society

The domination ended by the falling of the Soeharto regime and the emergence of the Reformation era. Nevertheless, the TNI has not undertaken cultural reformation especially on the military-cultural personnel although institutionally it has done so. On the military-cultural personnel aspect, the TNI personnel culture is still dominated by the long-existing feudalistic. This work, therefore, focuses on the practices of discipline, loyalty and militancy as the three basics of the culture of the TNI personnel. To discuss the issue, this project employs the agency and structure of Anthony Giddens and habitus of Pierre Bourdieu theories for analytical purposes

Get PDFExistence of industrialization for Indonesia, as one of the developing countries is the strategy of choice in the model development focused one conomic growth. Industrialization selection model policyh as an impact on the dynamics of industrialization of agriculture in the countryside. One side, it is the growth of the national economy rising sharply, yet on the other hand makes a very striking imbalance, especially in the agricultural sector. Conditions of agricultural industrialization, in this case, the agricultural sector has experienced marginality as a result of state policies that are not in favor of the farmers. As a result, rural industrialization there is no synergy in efforts to empower farmers in the rural economy. These conditions experienced by farmers in the Sitimulyo village Piyungan districts Bantul Yogyakarta. Sitimulyo is one of village at Piyungan sub-distric a part of Bantul regency of Yogyakarta City, which is the area of industrial development. The existence of this policy has any impact either directly or indirectly to the economic empowerment of farmers in the Piyungan District Sitimulyo village. Agricultural landin the village of Sitimulyo coincides with the presence of companies such as PT Perwita Karya, CV. Aneka Darma, PT. Pengolahan Plastik, PT. Adi Satria Abadi, PT. Don Young, Koperasi Umbul Jaya (Relocation of IKM Aluminum) and Kids Fun.The purpose of the study is to know the impact of industrialization on the economic empowerment of rural farmers in the village and to know Sitimulyo empowerment efforts undertaken by the village government and farmer groups that are economically powerless in the midst of the crush ofindustrialization. The theory used in this study is industrialization theory and empowerment. The research method used is a qualitative research method. Methods of data collection are done through observation and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was conducted by reviewing all data from various sources. Having read, studied and analyzed the next step is to conduct data reduction and interpretation of data. The research results are as follows: rural industrialization affects the economic empowerment of farmers in the village Sitimulyo, either directly or indirectly, either positive or negative impact. Positive impact is the local labor absorption. The negative impact is water short ages for most farmers irrigate their field sand the presence of was teand pollution.This condition affects the quantity and quality aspects of plant productivity that affect farmers’ income. Farmers’ income simply to meet subsistence needs. Empowerment efforts is undertaken by the village government and Sidomakmur farmer group in the Sitimulyo village through capacity building (through the field school for farmers in the Sitimulyo village), facilitation of networks (network) and assistance (seeds, agricultural tools)

Get PDFThis research aims to describe the Moslem teenagers’ self-concept so that they use Krama Javanese Language consistently. Islam has rule on Moslem personality building and its also applying in Javanese community. The using of Krama Javanese Language in teenagers can present their Moslem Javanese personality in doing religion value and respecting culture. It is also become a part of their self-concept. The self-concept is about what they think and feel about themselves. This research is descriptive analysis. The subject of this research is Moslem teenagers about 16-20 years old in Vocational School who use Krama Javanese Language. The study found out that there is consistency level in using Krama Javanese Language on Moslem teenagers. Those are “sampurno” and “gojag-gajeg” type. “Sampurno” is used to communicate Krama Javanese Language to everyone, even though “gojag-gajeg” only to older people. The consistency occurs because of their strong personality. A strong personality is formed by positive self-concept. Keywords: Moslem teenagers, Self-concept, Krama Javanese Languag
