    CARING FOR RELIGIOUS MODERATION THROUGH THE MANAGEMENT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON THE SALATIGA CAMPUS AS THE CITY OF TOLERANCE

    Awareness of religious moderation is an important value in Salatiga City as the most tolerant city in 2021. The city has two religious universities, namely IAIN Salatiga and Satya Wacana Christian University. Through social media accounts on Instagram, both universities disseminate information about the existence of the institution. Assuredly, social media management is the main thing in content management, especially regarding religious moderation as a form of religious tolerance in Salatiga. Therefore, this study aims to determine how the social media management of both universities related to religious moderation includes planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling through the case study method.As an educational institution in one field, the awareness to maintain and realize the City of Harmony - Salatiga City with an attitude of religious moderation has been implemented through postings on their Instagram platform. Social media management is not only manifesting religious moderation as a planned image but a practice of daily life. The posts of universities are the result of joint thinking in their respective public relations departments through a brand story strategy with validation before being uploaded.

    ANALYZING MEDIA CONVERGENCE IN THE HIJABER COMMUNITY FOR DISSEMINATING RELIGIOUS VALUES IN INDONESIA

    Media convergence has resulted in many transformations in religious social dynamics, including the adoption of a \u27marketing\u27 approach by the Hijaber Community in Indonesia to promote religious principles. This community utilises a range of social media channels to disseminate these religious beliefs, aiming to enhance their visibility and acceptance among both online and offline populations. The objective of this study is to provide a description of the various types of media convergence seen within the community and analyse their influence on the community\u27s development in the online realm. The study employed a qualitative netnography methodology to examine the social media accounts utilised by the subjects. The data was subsequently examined with the convergence culture hypothesis pioneered by Henry Jenkins.  The findings indicated that the media convergence process gave rise to two distinct types of convergence culture: participation culture and collective intelligence. This type of participatory culture is seen in the uploading of twibbons and the posts made by community followers, as well as the growing number of members in the Hijaber Community. Furthermore, communal intelligence is evident through the use of reels and IG live, which are available for access at any given moment.Konvergensi media telah memunculkan sejumlah perubahan dalam kehidupan sosial keagamaan, salah satunya adalah strategi ‘pemasaran’ nilai-nilai keagamaan yang dilakukan oleh komunitas Hijaber Community di Indonesia. Komunitas ini mengintegrasikan berbagai platform media sosial untuk mempromosikan nilai-nilai keagamaan tersebut sehingga menjadi lebih banyak dikenal oleh masyarakat online dan offline. Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mendeskripsikan apa saja bentuk-bentuk konvergensi media dalam komunitas tersebut dan bagaimana konvergensi itu memberikan dampak perkembangan komunitas mereka di dunia maya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif netnografi dengan menelusuri berbagai akun sosial media yang mereka gunakan. Data kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori budaya konvergensi yang digagas oleh Henry Jenkins. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bentuk-bentuk budaya konvergensi yang muncul dari proses konvergensi media yaitu budaya partisipasi dan kecerdasan kolektif. Bentuk budaya partisipasi ini terlihat dalam unggahan twibbon dan postingan follower komunitas serta bertambahnya anggota komunitas Hijaber Community.     Gambaran Efikasi Diri Mahasiswa Santri Penghafal Al-Qur’an

    College students who memorize al-qur’an are expected to have high self-efficacy because memorizing al-qur’an requires a long process and takes a long time. This study aims to explore and to understand self-efficacy of college students who memorize al-qur’an and to explore what factors influence their self-efficacy. This qualitative research used phenomenological approach with three participants. The data analysis used is an explication technique. The results showed three participants have strong self-efficacy. The three participants interpret the process they need to face during memorizing Al-Qur’an and following academic schedule as a challenge that must be completed. They managed their activities well, as well as they have successfully mastered various tasks. One participant focused on maximizing the process of memorizing al-qur’an and following academic schedule, while two other participants were maximizing their process in memorizing al-qur’an, following the lecture and also joining the organization. Three participants have also good confidence in their own ability to complete their target in memorizing al-qur’an and their study as well. Factors that influenced their self-efficacy are included their previous achievements, motivation to seek knowledge and emulating the success of others, and parental support. Mahasiswa yang menghafal al-qur’an diharapkan memiliki efikasi diri yang tinggi karena menghafal al-qur’an membutuhkan proses yang panjang dan membutuhkan waktu yang lama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali dan memahami efikasi diri mahasiswa penghafal al-qur’an serta menggali faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi efikasi diri mahasiswa tersebut. Penelitian kualitatif ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologis dengan tiga partisipan. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik eksplikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga partisipan memiliki efikasi diri yang kuat. Ketiga partisipan memaknai proses yang harus mereka hadapi selama menghafal al-qur’an dan mengikuti jadwal akademik sebagai tantangan yang harus diselesaikan. Mereka mengatur kegiatannya dengan baik, mereka berhasil menguasai berbagai tugas. Satu partisipan fokus memaksimalkan proses menghafal al-qur’an dan mengikuti perkuliahan, sedangkan dua peserta lainnya memaksimalkan proses menghafal al-qur’an, mengikuti perkuliahan dan juga berorganisasi. Tiga partisipan juga percaya diri dengan kemampuan mereka sendiri untuk menyelesaikan target mereka dalam menghafal al-qur\u27an dan studi mereka.     COMPREHENDING THE ESSENSE OF THE PARSAHUTAON COMMUNITY IN NURTURING INTERFAITH SOLIDARITY IN TARUTUNG CITY, NORTH SUMATRA

    Interreligious relations become an integral part of the discourse of social parity. The creation of harmony between individuals and groups is very important to review, given that human existence is filled with dynamic aspects, such as culture, situation, and context. This study aims to describe and examine the essence of the existence of Parsahutaon social associations in building social solidarity between religious people in Tarutung City, North Sumatra. A descriptive qualitative methodology was utilized in this research, with literature review serving as the primary data collection technique. The results showed that a prosocial essence was present in the Parsahutaon community. First, it becomes the foundation for realizing compliance in the midst of plurality. Second, the means of implementation in the construction of social solidarity amidst the diversity of faith traditions in the city of Tarutung.Relasi antar umat beragama menjadi bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari wacana paritas sosial. Terciptanya harmoni antar individu dengan kelompok sangat penting untuk dikaji ulang, mengingat bahwa eksistensi manusia dipenuhi dengan aspek dinamis, seperti: budaya, situasi dan konteks. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menelisik esensi dari keberadaan asosiasi sosial Parsahutaon dalam membangun solidaritas sosial antar umat beragama di Kota Tarutung, Sumatera Utara. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui studi pustaka sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, komunitas Parsahutaon memuat esensi yang prososial.  Pertama, menjadi basis terwujudnya konformitas di tengah pluralitas. Kedua, sarana sarana aplikatif dalam membangun solidaritas sosial di tengah keberagaman tradisi iman di Kota Tarutung

    COMMUNICATION STRATEGY OF SEDULUR SIKEP SAMIN’S BELIEVERS IN BUILDING POSITIVE IMAGE IN COMMUNITY

    Negative images were commonly experienced by minority groups in society, including Sedulur Sikep Samin’s believers. Therefore, a communication strategy was needed to build a positive image in society. This study aimed to determine the communication strategy of Sedulur Sikep Samin’s believers in Larikrejo Village, Undaan District, Kudus Regency, Central Java in building a positive image in society. This research explored three elements of communication strategy, namely message planning, communication approach, and media selection. This study used the Co-Cultural theory of Mark Orbe. Interpretive phenomenological analysis was used in this study as a technical data analysis. The results of this study indicated that Sedulur Sikep Samin’s believers in Larikrejo Village use accommodation strategies to build a positive image in society. This strategy included non-assertive and assertive accommodation. In terms of planning the message of Sedulur Sikep Samin’s believers, they conducted deliberation first before the message was conveyed to the public. The communication approach was carried out by mingling, staying in touch, tying brotherhood both verbally and non-verbally to society and local government. This approach was in accordance with the ancestral teachings of Sedulur Sikep Samin’s which had been passed down from generation to generation (Samin Teachings). In terms of media selection, Sedulur Sikep Samin’s believers used outdoor media such as signposts, banners, photos, and posters displayed in the secretariat office

    Apakah Overprotektif Orang Tua Berkorelasi Dengan Agresivitas? Studi Pada Mahasiswa Rantau Asal Daerah Yang Pernah Berkonflik Sosial

    Aggressive behavior is a form of action whose purpose is to hurt or injure another person, physically or verbally. There are several factors behind the emergence of aggressive behavior, one of which is overprotective parenting. Overprotective parenting causes children to feel pressured and less free. Moving on from this, this study aims to find out the correlation between overprotective parents and the aggressiveness of wander students from regions who have had social conflicts. The research method used is correlational quantitative. The study participants were 60 students who came from areas that had experienced social conflict (Moluccas, Papua, Central Borneo and Central Sulawesi) using the incidental sampling technique. Data collection used the Parent Overprotectiveness Scale (α = 0.863) and the Aggressiveness Scale (α = 0.898). The research results prove that the research hypothesis is accepted (r = 0.387 and sig. = 0.002). It can be concluded that the increased aggressiveness of wander students from regions who have had social conflicts is due to an increase in parental overprotectiveness. Perilaku agresif merupakan bentuk tindakan yang tujuannya meyakiti atau melukai orang lain, secara fisik maupun verbal. Terdapat beberapa faktor yang melatarbelakangi timbulnya perilaku agresif, salah satunya pola pengasuhan orang tua yang overprotektif. Pengasuhan orang tua yang overprotektif menyebabkan anak merasa tertekan dan kurang bebas. Beranjak dari hal tersebut, maka penelitian ini bertujuan mencari tahu korelasi antara overprotektif orang tua dan agresivitas mahaswa rantau asal daerah yang pernah berkonflik sosial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif korelasional. Partisipan penelitian sebanyak 60 mahasiswa yang berasal dari daerah yang pernah berkonflik sosial (Maluku, Papua, Kalimantan Tengah, dan Sulawesi Tengah) dengan teknik insidental sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan Skala Overprotektif Orang Tua (α = 0,863) dan Skala Agresivitas (α = 0,898). Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa hipotesis penelitian diterima (r = 0,387 dan sig. = 0,002). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa meningkatnya agresivitas mahasiswa rantau asal daerah yang pernah berkonflik sosial, karena adanya peningkatan overprotektif orang tua yang diterapkan

    Couples caring for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are always associated with lower marital satisfaction and higher divorce potential. But not all of them are like that, because they can also maintain and be able to achieve marital satisfaction while caring for children with ASD. The study aims to explore the experience of achieving marital satisfaction in couples caring for children with ASD. Qualitative research methods with a phenomenological approach are used in this study. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews, while data were analyzed through Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The participants involved consisted of 7 marriages couples and 4 informants. The Couple Satisfaction Index (CSI-16) questionnaire was used as a preliminary study to identify couples who have high marital satisfaction. Validity test using member check technique and triangulation of data sources. The results of the study resulted in 5 main themes, such as the first experience of couples while caring for a child with ASD; fulfillment of couples needs while caring for a child with ASD; fulfillment of couple\u27s expectations; actions taken to achieve marital satisfaction; and duration of marital satisfaction achievement. The process of achieving marital satisfaction in couples caring for children with ASD varies according to duration, but always begins with a downturn and continues with the desire to achieve marital satisfaction.Pasangan dengan anak penyandang Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) selalu dikaitkan dengan kepuasan perkawinan yang rendah dan potensi perceraian yang lebih tinggi. Namun tidak semuanya demikian, karena mereka juga bisa mempertahankan dan mampu mencapai kepuasan perkawinan selama mengasuh anak penyandang ASD. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman pencapaian kepuasan perkawinan pada pasangan dengan anak penyandang ASD. Metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara semi-terstruktur, sedangkan data dianalisis melalui Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Partisipan yang terlibat terdiri dari 7 pasangan dan 4 informan. Kuesioner Couple Satisfaction Index (CSI-16) digunakan sebagai preliminary study untuk mengidentifikasi pasangan yang memiliki kepuasan perkawinan yang tinggi. Uji validitas menggunakan teknik member check dan triangulasi sumber data. Hasil penelitian menghasilkan 5 tema utama, seperti pengalaman awal pasangan selama mengasuh anak penyandang ASD; pemenuhan kebutuhan pasangan selama mengasuh anak penyandang ASD; pemenuhan harapan pasangan; tindakan yang dilakukan dalam mencapai kepuasan perkawinan; dan durasi pencapaian kepuasan perkawinan. Proses pencapaian kepuasan perkawinan pada pasangan yang mengasuh anak penyandang ASD cenderung berbeda sesuai durasi, namun selalu diawali dengan keterpurukan dan berlanjut pada keinginan untuk mencapai kepuasan perkawinan

    HOW DOES ZAKAT EMPOWER SOCIETY? A CASE STUDY OF THE KHAIRPUR DISTRICT, PAKISTAN

    Poverty is a worldwide issue of concern to the international community, including Pakistan. Khairpur is a rural region in Pakistan where a significant proportion of the population lives below the poverty threshold. This research aims to describe the practice of zakat and its implications for the residents of the Khairpur district in Pakistan, using qualitative research techniques. The methods employed to collect data in this study involved conducting interviews with Khairpur residents, observations, and reviewing relevant literature. The findings indicated that in Khairpur, the local community perceives the practice of zakat as a means of providing socio-economic security for the elderly by allocating zakat funds to healthcare facilities. Donating Zakat to educational institutions can also provide assistance to economically vulnerable groups of children. Zakat initiatives can aid women\u27s groups in funding their wedding expenses and dowries. Nevertheless, this research also exposed that the transparency of zakat management has been inadequate and requires further improvement to ensure that a larger portion of the Khairpur population can reap the benefits of zakat.Problem global kemiskinan telah lama menjadi perhatian masyarakat dunia, termasuk di Pakistan. Khairpur adalah salah satu daerah pedesaan Pakistan yang memiliki banyak segmen masyarakat yang hidup di bawah garis kemiskinan. Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk menjelaskan praktik zakat dan refleksinya bagi masyarakat di distrik Khairpur Pakistan melalui metode kualitatif.  Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui sejumlah wawancara dengan penduduk Khairpur, observasi, dan telaah pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa praktik zakat di Khairpur telah dianggap oleh masyarakat setempat dapat memberikan jaminan sosial ekonomi untuk orang lanjut usia melalui zakat yang dialokasi ke dalam fasilitas kesehatan. Zakat yang dialokasikan ke dalam fasilitas pendidikan juga mampu membantu kelompok anak-anak yang memiliki kerentanan ekonomi. Sedangkan bagi bagi kelompok perempuan, program zakat dapat membantu mereka dalam pembiayaan mahar maupun upacara pernikahan. Meski demikian, pada sisi lain, penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan bahwa praktik pengelolaan zakat belum transparan dan masih perlu ditingkatkan lagi jumlahnya agar semakin banyak segmen penduduk Khairpur yang merasakan manfaat zakat tersebut

    RESISTANCE OF MUSLIMS TOWARD THE GOVERNMENT\u27S POLICY ON PROHIBITING CONGREGATIONAL WORSHIP DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

    During the 2020-2021 period in Indonesia, the stricter enforcement of worship practices amid the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in opposition from various Muslim community. Prior research on this phenomenon has solely concentrated on binary notions of opposition, and as such, has not provided a comprehensive explanation of the resistance stance. The objective of this study is to elucidate the shape and manner of resistance from various Muslim groups towards the stricter enforcement of religious practices amid the Covid-19 outbreak. Qualitative methods were employed in this study, which involved collecting data through in-depth interviews and observations conducted at Mataram Mosque in Kota Gede, Yogyakarta. The findings show that resistance by some Muslim communities comes in three forms: passive, active, and reactive resistance. These three forms of opposition represent a manifestation of the citizens\u27 ideological consciousness as they object to government policies that contradict the knowledge and collective experiences they have accumulated thus far.Pada rentang 2020-2021, kebijakan pengetatan pelaksanaan ibadah di masa Covid-19 di Indonesia telah menimbulkan sejumlah resistensi dari beberapa segmen masyarakat muslim. Studi terdahulu yang membahas fenomena ini hanya terfokus pada konsep resistensi yang dikotomis, sehingga belum menjelaskan sikap resistensi secara komprehensif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bentuk dan pola resistensi beberapa segmen masyarakat Muslim terhadap kebijakan pengetatan kegiatan ibadah di masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian dilakukan melalui metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam dan observasi di Masjid Mataram Kota Gede, Yogyakarta. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa perlawanan yang dilakukan oleh sebagian masyarakat Muslim tersebut muncul dalam tiga bentuk, yaitu: perlawanan secara pasif, aktif, dan reaktif. Ketiga bentuk resistensi tersebut merupakan wujud kesadaran ideologis warga karena ketidaksetujuan terhadap kebijakan pemerintah yang berseberangan dengan pengetahuan dan pengalaman kolektif yang mereka miliki selama ini.

    HOW TO BECOME A PRODUCTIVE FAN? THE EXISTENCE OF FAN TALKS AS FANDOM PRODUCTIVITY

    Fans draw sharply the line between what falls within their fandom and what does not. Accumulation and appreciation of knowledge regarding fan’s objects of fandom are important for fan cultural capital. Fiske’s pre-internet model of fan productivity occurs at the interface between industrially-produced cultural commodities and the everyday life of the fan. Fan talk is a circulation mechanism of certain meanings of the object of fandom implying the membership of a particular fan community. BTS is a K-Pop group that uses online exposure with a variety of contents ranging from members personal message to behind-the-scenes footage to create deeper levels of intimacy with their fans. This helps them to advance their careers and create alliances with their fans. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explore BTS fan’s participation in fan talk activities shared within face-to-face communication. The data collection techniques used were in-depth interviews and participant observations of four BTS’s fans (called ARMY). The result shows that fan talk is one way of expressing the existence of fans. Digital media and the internet have allowed BTS\u27 fans to share a wide range of signifiers and meanings from their music quickly and easily. This has created a form of symbolic interaction among fans that can be used to communicate concepts and ideas among one another. This enunciative productivity of fans is also serving a widespread promotional function for non-fans
