Community Participation in Low Carbon Lifestyle Programs in Kuala Lumpur
Get PDFThis paper explores community engagement in Kuala Lumpur's Low Carbon Lifestyle (LCL) programs, led by Local Agenda 21 Kuala Lumpur (LA21KL). It focuses on how community participation can advance the city's goal of achieving zero carbon emissions by 2050. Through qualitative research and in-depth interviews, the study highlights three themes: Empowering Community Participation, Strengthening Engagement in Low Carbon Programs, and Green Urban Governance. It emphasises the need for increased awareness of the benefits of LCL programs to strengthen community involvement. Strategies like developing local champions are essential for successfully implementing these initiatives
Issues of Zakat Distribution among Asnaf: A case study at Padang Pak Mahat Residence, Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia
Get PDFThis study aims to explore issues related to the distribution of zakat among zakat recipients in the Asnaf settlement in Kuantan Pahang. The study uses qualitative methods to collect research data. A total of 6 zakat recipients among the Asnaf were involved in this study. The findings found that four main issues are the focus: satisfaction, dishonest behaviour, monitoring, and contribution adequacy. Discussion and recommendations are included at the end of the study
Consciousness and Transcendence Effects the Emotional Intelligence and Teaching Quality among Private Universities
Get PDFThe ongoing evolution of high-quality university academics prompts an exploration of the factors defining teaching excellence. This study delves into the impact of consciousness and transcendence, spiritual intelligence (SI) elements, on lecturers' emotional intelligence (EI) and its influence on teaching quality. A structural model was developed utilizing data from a questionnaire survey with 125 usable responses. The results indicate partial mediation by both consciousness and transcendence between EI and teaching quality. This suggests that consciousness and transcendence enhance EI in university teaching, fostering adaptability and inclusivity and promoting transformative learning for well-rounded individuals
Elevating Healthcare Resilience: Role of drones in mitigating supply chain challenges in Malaysia
Get PDFThis paper explores the usage of drones in the Malaysian healthcare supply chain (HSC) and proposes strategies by identifying the challenges faced. A detailed literature review found several challenges, such as limited technical capability, strict government regulation, the need for a 5G network, and limited drone capabilities. Hence, some of the identified mitigation strategies are investment in tertiary education, government legislation improvement, expedited 5G network adoption, collaboration with NGOs, and providing drones with multi-functionality. This study contributes to the knowledge relevant to drone technology and the HSC. Future studies should investigate the practicability of drones that can support HSC management

Green Performance: Critical factors from Malaysian electrical and electronics suppliers
Get PDFThe objective of the study is to identify critical factors influencing suppliers' environmental performance. Employing survey methodologies, a cross-sectional study was conducted, analysing 110 completed survey questionnaires from electrical and electronic suppliers. The findings revealed that suppliers' green performance is significantly influenced by quality practices, technical competence, a green image, and environmental management, although not by pollution control. In light of the growing importance of environmental achievements for market competitiveness, these results offer valuable insights for manufacturers seeking to enhance suppliers' green performance. Future studies should explore additional crucial factors impacting suppliers' environmental accomplishments

A literature review of 20 papers reveals that AI can act as a collaborative agent, automating routine tasks, providing real-time feedback, and fostering creative exploration. However, challenges remain in maintaining human-centered design values and preserving designers' agency. Future research should develop AI tools that support co-design dynamics and address ethical concerns in creative fields

The aim of this paper is to explore the drug issues involving the dyad stakeholders who deal with the drug issues in Kelantan-Thailand borders βenforcement agencies and community leaders. The findings indicate that drug issues in Kelantan-Thailand borders are serious. Among the internal challenges faced, including enforcement measures; lack of capacity; and integrity issues. The external challenges include geographical and cultural challenges; community awareness, participation, and engagement; and legal measures. Thus, to effectively combat the severity of drug issues in Kelantan and Malaysia, particularly, it is crucial to continually strengthen the roles and responsibilities of both enforcement agencies and the community

Employing the auto-regressive distributed lag (ARDL) econometric technique, the analysis spans time series data from 1990 to 2020. The bound F-test and Johansen cointegration tests validate that domestic consumption substantially contributes to environmental pollution. By addressing existing gaps in knowledge, this research provides valuable insights for shaping sustainable energy policies tailored to the unique circumstances of Malaysia

It justifies the relationship between the concept of Cultural Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the role of the igal ritual theatre in the well-being of society and the preservation of heritage. This research applies the ethnographic method through an 'inductive phenomenological character' approach. The result explains how the igal ritual theatre relates to the concept of Cultural SDGs presented by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS). This study affirms that igal ritual theatre aligns with the agenda of the Cultural SDGs to improve society and preserve heritage
