    Managing Intellectual Capital for SMEs’ Sustainable Development. A Conceptual Proposal

    This article contributes to the body of literature on intellectual capital (IC) and Islamic work ethics (IWE) in small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It aims to investigate the role of socio-economic factors in promoting sustainable development (SD) and value creation. Ibn Khaldun's theory of development is employed to identify the socio-economic factors underlying IC and IWE that play a role in the sustainable development (SD) of SMEs. The findings reveal five socio-economic activities form the foundation of the proposed conceptual framework which is aligned with three fundamental streams in economics and management studies (Ibn Khaldun's development theory, IC, and IWE)

    Influence of Perceived Value on Clients' Behavioural Intention in Online Psychological Counseling

    This study employed quantitative research methods to survey 400 customers in China who had used online psychological counseling. Subsequently, SmartPLS4.0 was used to conduct structural equation modeling to test the comprehensive relationship between variables. The research demonstrates the role of emotional experience, perceived usefulness, and ease of use in determining user intent. Conversely, there is a negative correlation with perceived cost. The findings suggest that cost plays a significant role in user decision-making when it comes to online psychological counseling. These results provide valuable insight into how users perceive such services and can guide their development

    Intervention Programmes among Obstructive Sleep Apnea Patients: A Systematic Review

    Aims: To assess the effectiveness of intervention programs to improve functional outcomes, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) adherence, daytime sleepiness, and knowledge among obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) patients. Background: Oxygen desaturations, awakenings, and snoring are symptoms of OSA. Design: Through five databases such as Google Scholar, Science Direct, Web of Science, Medline, and Research Gate. Conclusions: Patients improved their knowledge; CPAP compliance was higher in the intervention group compared to the control group. Regular CPAP utilization can improve functional outcomes and reduce daytime sleepiness. Implication for practice: researchers need to develop educational initiatives appropriate for OSA patients in Malaysia

    Bridging Success and Well-being: Insights from B40 University Students

    This study examines B40 university students' well-being in terms of cost of living, learning, social engagement, and academic performance. The quantitative cross-sectional study of 157 UiTM students finds positive relationships between these variables and student well-being. Financial aid and support are suggested. The study shows how well-being components are interconnected and offers policymakers and educators practical advice. Despite limitations, this research contributes to understanding student well-being, especially for economically disadvantaged students.   Keywords: Well-being; Academic Performance; B40 University Student

    Nexus between Solidarity Economy, Cooperative and Digital Economy at the Local Level: The case of Malaysia

    This study used Malaysian case as the empirical platform to articulate the issues of development at the local level mainly Desa Lestari (Sustainable Village) program of KPLB. The data were obtained mainly through focus group discussions and in-depth interviews with government officials and communities. This paper highlights conceptually and practically how the Solidarity Economy, the Cooperative and Digitalization can be incorporated into a broader sustainability framework. This paper also demonstrates the potential and constraints in Desa Lestari program. This paper ends with an examination of possible plan of action for successful Desa Lestari program and local level development in general

Food choice decisions among university-aged consumers with food allergies have been understudied. Therefore, this conceptual paper aims to investigate the impact of food allergies on the food choice behaviour of university students with food allergies. The implications of this research extend beyond academic circles. By providing a nuanced understanding of the interplay between food allergies and food choices, this conceptual paper calls for proactive measures to address the unique challenges faced by this demographic in navigating their dietary preferences within university settings

    Two Side of the Same Coin: Accessibility and affordability for healthcare in Sabah

    This article is to identify the level of accessibility and affordability of people in Sabah for quality healthcare. In-depth interviews were conducted with eight informants through qualitative research, and it is found that accessibility issue is very crucial which is due to more cost for travelling and ultimately related to affordability. Various initiatives require commitment from the government and community yet to be effective due to budget constraint, lack of awareness and community ability. All parties concern in healthcare needs to work as a team in ensuring that no one is left out from quality healthcare to achieve sustainable development goal of 2030

    Low Carbon City Framework (LCCF) provides a guideline for local government to plan new strategies in reducing the carbon footprint to achieve sustainable development goals in Shah Alam, Selangor. This paper aims to examine the local government’s role in reducing carbon emission for the benefit of the community. This study prepares a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews. The findings found that the success of converting Shah Alam into a low carbon city, requires effective strategies which includes raising awareness, developing an action plans, and implementation and continuous improvements.     Staff Retention among Employees in Malaysian Financial Institutions

    This study investigates the retention of employees at a local commercial bank with a sample of 100. This study aims to assess flexible working arrangements, training and career development, compensation and benefits, and job and organisation fit that influence the retention of employees. This study found that only flexible working arrangements influence employee retention. The research findings assist respective bank management in formulating efficient human resource strategies. Understanding the variables that impact the retention of employees enables targeted interventions to improve employee happiness, engagement, and turnover rates
