    Get PDF
Thalassaemia is chronic hereditary blood disorder. Medication has extended patients' lifespans, but research on their quality of life is scarce due to psychological impacts and medication adherence issues. The objective is to develop and validate a survey assessing the knowledge, attitude, and practice of Malaysian thalassaemia patients towards medication. We will use an exploratory mixed-methods approach with ethical approval from UiTM. Phase I involves semi-structured interviews with thalassaemia patients. Phase II focusses on creating and validating KAP instruments with expert panels and pilot testing. The tools will help medical professionals gather data to improve treatment compliance

Reduced Monocular Accommodation Abilities with Laptop Usage Under Scotopic Ambient Illumination

    Get PDF
Laptops are widely used even in dark scotopic rooms.  This study compares monocular accommodation statuses with laptop usage under three illuminations.  Thirty university students read on a laptop for 5 minutes under scotopic, mesopic, and photopic conditions.  The monocular amplitude of accommodation, accommodation facility, and accommodation error are measured for each illumination.  Repeated measure ANOVA shows a significant difference in the amplitude, facility, and error between different illuminations [F (1.49, 43.18) = 10.61, p<0.001], [F (1.65, 36.30) = 6.78, p=0.005] and [F (2, 56) = 3.65, p=0.032].  Scotopic illumination reduces monocular accommodation abilities with laptop usage

Evaluating the Smart City Status and Acceptance of ISO Standards: A Case Study of Malaysian Local Authority

    Get PDF
While most national smart city frameworks outline the urban challenges, local authorities struggle to translate the top-down plan and align the action plan with ISO 37122 indicators, including the case of Majlis Bandaraya Diraja Klang (MBDK), Malaysia. This study aims to evaluate MBDK’s smart city status and examines the acceptance of ISO standards. The quantitative survey findings indicate a positive perception of smart city status, with unanimous agreement on the importance of ISO standards. This research contributed to one of the pioneer studies evaluating the acceptance of ISO indicators in smart city development in Malaysia and beyond

The human factors are consistently the leading cause of road crashes in Malaysia and worldwide. This study would like to support the government's effort to reduce road crashes by proposing a comprehensive driver's intervention module based on the SaringSikap/ASDS46 screening method. A total of 240 volunteers had undergone the screening process. Domain 1 (D1) scored the highest high-risk attitude score, and Domain 2 (D2) was the lowest. This intervention will benefit all groups of road users in Malaysia. It also will assist the government in reducing road crashes in the future through education and empowerment programs

A Scientometric Analysis and Visualisation of Sustainable Fashion

    Get PDF
Several studies on sustainable fashion have been reported. However, there needs to be more literature dealing with the scientometric analysis of sustainable fashion. To understand the current status of sustainable fashion, this study aimed to use bibliometric analysis and historical review to highlight recent research in sustainable fashion, to predict future research hotspots and trends in sustainable fashion, and to summarise and analyse the shortcomings in sustainable fashion. The Web of Science core database was searched for 573 publications on sustainable fashion up to 31 December 2023. VOSviewer and CiteSpace software were used to perform visual analyses
