Effects of Traditional Malay Massage on Muscle Tone, Muscle Function and Physical Performance in Patients with Stroke
Get PDFTraditional Malay Massage (TMM), although is not the standard of care in the Malaysia Stroke Clinical Practice Guidelines, is common among stroke patients. This is despite the availability of clear evidence on the benefits of TMM in this population. The present study aims to investigate the effects of TMM on muscle tone, muscle function and physical performance in stroke patients. We found that as short as two weeks of TMM improved motor function and physical performance in subacute stroke patients. No change was observed on muscle tone. Future larger scale study is warranted to validate this finding
Shanxi Local Opera and Malaysian Chinese Opera Clothing Fabrics
Get PDFThis paper, literature research, and comparative research were used to systematically study the costumes and fabrics. The paper finds that the clothing fabrics of Shanxi local opera have the magnificence of ancient Chinese costumes, and the process technology is mainly color embroidery, gold embroidery, and mixed embroidery. The fabrics of Malaysian Cantonese opera costumes are relatively more luxurious, with a very obvious Lingnan style. In the end, the article argues that historical and cultural changes have dominated the differentiation of fabrics. The research can further promote the theoretical and practical exploration of the intrinsic value of theatrical costumes
Public-Private Partnerships and Sustainable Development Goals: A case study of IIUM

This study discusses the initiatives by the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) campus community of overcoming these challenges through Public-Private Partnerships. Instead of relying solely on government’s budget, IIUM and a private company embarked on a journey to achieve a landmark effort to become energy efficient and make a conscious effort to a better environment. Simultaneously, IIUM gets to reduce its carbon footprint which further strengthening the attainment of its Strategic Direction of Humanizing Education and the Sustainable Development Goals
Hybrid Learning during Covid-19 Pandemic- Lessons learned from Malaysia and China
Get PDFTwo mixed-methods research on hybrid learning were conducted in Malaysia and China during and after COVID-19. The respondents are 546 educators, and 2782 students from schools and universities. Results indicated synchronous online learning is more frequently conducted than asynchronous online learning. Similar teacher challenges are student engagement, teacher-student interactions, and self-discipline. The top weakness in Malaysia is the lack of devices and connectivity while in China is a lack of teacher training and resources. Similar student weaknesses are self-motivation and time management. Suggested improvements are enhanced technological infrastructure, more interactive, engaging pedagogies, professional development, personalized support, regular assessment, and monitoring.
A Review of the Treatment for Low Back Pain among Adolescent Athletes
Get PDFBackground Nowadays there is an increased prevalence of adolescent athletes suffer from LBP. Early effective treatment can improve athletes' performance and delay their careers. Obiectives To identify the effective treatment for adolescent athletes with LBP. Methods Electronic searching on database from inception to January 2024 was used to retrieve articles. The assessment for quality used McMaster Critical Review Form for Quantitative Studies. Findings Only 4 articles met the inclusion criteria. Implications This study provides different treatments form LBP in adolescent athletes. However, which type of treatment is more effective needs further research

Bridging Heart and Mind: Exploring Emotional Intelligence among Undergraduates in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Get PDFIn today's dynamic educational landscape, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology presents opportunities and challenges for educators, especially undergraduates. Emotional Intelligence (EI) is crucial in the AI age, impacting resilience (RI). However, the relationship between RI and EI among undergraduates is under explored. This study investigates this relationship among Chinese undergraduates, examining EI's significance amidst AI integration. Surveying 420 undergraduates from X University, China, using 2 questionnaires and PLS-SEM analysis, the study reveals high EI levels, particularly in emotional regulation, and a positive relationship between RI and EI. Findings stress the importance of socio-emotional skills in navigating AI-driven education

Islamic Values, Donation Behaviour and Muslim Financial Behaviour among Malaysians and Indonesians
Get PDFThis paper explores the impact of Islamic values on Muslim donation and financial behaviours in Indonesia and Malaysia. This associative quantitative research applies structural equation modeling (SEM), the SmartPLS approach. 427 data were collected using a closed questionnaire distributed to respondents who met the research criteria from Malaysia and Indonesia. The result postulates slight differences in the donation and financial behaviours between the two countries. Since the research is purely quantitative and only focused on individual donation and financial behaviours, researchers propose a qualitative study to further explore other determinants of Muslim donation and financial behaviours
Factors Influencing Property Overhang in Residential and Serviced Apartments in Malaysia: A Thematic Review
Get PDFThe one-decade data on residential and serviced apartment overhang indicates that overhang occurs in Malaysia and should not be taken lightly. This paper aims to identify the factors influencing property overhang by adopting a thematic analysis. ATLAS.ti 23 was used to conduct thematic analysis. The findings revealed eleven main themes of factors in property overhang in Malaysia based on the pattern highlighted in the literature. The outcomes are expected to benefit the direction of future research and developing solutions, especially for the agencies and stakeholders such as the state and local authorities and developers to work together
