Enhancing Student Employability Through Authentic Assessment
This study explores the implementation of authentic assessment to enhance student employability through participating in interviews with real-world employers. Industry-leading employers conduct mock interviews with students to allow them to sharpen their interview skills and assist in understanding the expectations of prospective employers. A key finding of the study is that students who are equipped with the necessary training for interview skills and career development learning will gain confidence and self-esteem, fitted with both interview and soft skills, hence preparing them for answering interview questions and enabling an environment for students to feel confident in real-world interviews
Architectural Intelligence (ArcAI) Evolution and Progress on Sustainable Smartscapes Planning for the Cities of Tomorrow
Rapid urbanization and environmental concerns underscore the need for sustainable design in urban areas. This study delves into sustainable smart scapes, integrating eco-friendly practices and smart technologies to meet urban demands. It examines green infrastructure, renewable energy, and smart parameters’ integration, assessing their effectiveness through literature review and case studies. Exploring technologies like Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics, the research adopts qualitative methods - case studies, structured interviews, and literature review – for a nuance understanding of. It aims to inform future sustainable architecture and urban planning, emphasizing smartscapes’ role in resource optimization, economic growth, and community inclusivity, contributing to interdisciplinary knowledge advancement
Effect of Heart Rate Variability Biofeedback Training on Score and Stress Level of Shooting Athletes
This study aimed to explore the impact of a 12-week emWave pro-based heart rate variability biofeedback training followed by a 2-week follow-up on shooters' performance, stress levels, and heart rate variability (HRV). Thirty-six shooters aged 18-24 (18 experimental, 18 control) participated. The experimental group underwent 12 weeks of biofeedback and shooting training, while the control group only received shooting training. Results showed significant improvements in performance, stress levels, and HRV parameters in the experimental group, reflecting enhanced parasympathetic activity. Biofeedback reduced training and competition stress, improving overall performance and stability during matches, emphasizing its effectiveness in shooter training
Sustainable Finance and Fintech: SMEs’ Behavioural Intention towards Islamic Crowdfunding
A wide array of financial options is accessible to SMEs, including Islamic crowdfunding, besides solely depending on bank loans. This study aims to investigate the factors behind SMEs' intention to use Islamic crowdfunding using the extended UTAUT model. Empirical data from 525 participants consisting of Bumiputera SMEs from various sectors and employed SPSS for analysis. The results indicate that there is a positive effect of PE, SI, FC and TB, and no significant effect between EE and BI. The finding generates insights into the realized fundraising benefit factor among the Bumiputera SMEs as an extension to the UTAUT model
Revolutionizing Operational Excellence: Advancing the automotive industry through Lean Principles
This paper aims to discover the effect of lean principles and practices (LPP) on the operational excellence of the Malaysian automotive industry. A quantitative research approach was adopted focusing on 112 designated managerial-level respondents who were experts in the automotive industry. This study provides future researchers with easy access to information on the need for LPP implementation in the automobile industry toward revolutionizing operational excellence. The authors foresee this study to have a significant effect on practitioners, particularly automobile manufacturers and other key stakeholders, about the possible benefits of LPP implementation across the automotive industry, notably in emerging market economies
Driving Requirements for Older People in Malaysia: A thematic analysis
Driving has been recognised as the primary form of personal transportation across the adult lifespan. This study explores the requirements needed for older people to drive in Malaysia. In-depth interviews were conducted with six participants. The interviews were digitally audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim, and analysed using the six steps of thematic analysis. Three main themes emerged from the data: "Good health," "Driving-specific skills," and "Positive driving style." To conclude, this study conveys a crucial subject matter to policymakers and healthcare professionals in highlighting the requirement older people need to drive safely and thus improve our country's elderly workforce
Influences of Night Eating Syndrome and Physical Activity Level towards Students’ Body Mass Index
It is critical to identify the factors that influence body mass index (BMI) to properly design targeted health interventions. This study aims to investigate the relationship between physical activity level (PAL) and night eating syndrome (NES) with BMI among university students. This cross-sectional study focused on 141 students at UiTM in Selangor and used a self-administered questionnaire consisting of socio-demographic data, the IPAQ-SF, and the NEQ. A negative, weak correlation was reported between PAL and BMI, while a positive correlation was found between NES and BMI. This study concluded that improving NES and PAL are crucial to enhance BMI status
Fintech Frenzy: An engaging review of the transforming financial services
Advancements, opportunities, and challenges in financial technology (fintech) are comprehensively reviewed in this paper. Fintech, powered by AI and blockchain, revolutionises access to financial services. The narrative review analyses academic databases and industry reports, highlighting fintech themes like mobile payments, peer-to-peer lending, robo-advisors, and blockchain. Opportunities include accessible services, efficiency, and cost savings. However, challenges like cybersecurity, regulation, financial inclusion, resistance to change, and data privacy must be addressed. Responsible and ethical fintech practices are crucial for security, regulation compliance, inclusion, and confidentiality. Fintech's potential to transform finance and enhance lives worldwide is emphasised
Evaluating the WeCare Program: A Study on the Acceptability, Appropriateness, and Feasibility
Malaysia anticipates its elderly population will reach 15% by 2030, posing a significant challenge. Despite the worldwide and national emphasis on health and well-being, a gap exists in structured activities for elderly. The WeCare Program addresses this by offering an occupation-based, culturally tailored approach aimed at improving the engagement and well-being of older Malaysians. Conducted by occupational therapists across six districts in Kelantan, this program involved 30 elderly participants and was evaluated over six weeks. The results indicate that the program was highly accepted (M=4.94; SD=0.22), appropriate (M=4.85; SD= 0.20), and feasible (M=4.88; SD=0.33) for implementation among the target population
Motivational Factors in Adherence among Elderly with Diabetes and Hypertension
This qualitative study aims to explore the motivational factors in adherence among the elderly with diabetes and hypertension from the perspectives of patients and health professionals in China. Semi-structured face-to-face interviews were conducted. Thematic analysis of the interview transcripts unveiled eight master themes, including vicarious experiences, health beliefs, self-efficacy, feedback on health outcomes, the desire for improved health and longevity, understanding of diseases, perceived personal deterioration in health conditions, external regulation, and support. This study emphasizes the need for comprehensive strategies that align with the motivations of older individuals facing the dual challenges of diabetes and hypertension in China
