Exploring Hypertensive Patients' Experiences and Preferences with Online Health Education
Get PDFThere is a lack of research on patients' experiences and preferences when using such websites among patients with hypertension. This study aimed to explore their experiences and preferences for health education websites. The study employed a qualitative approach using in-depth interviews with 14 participants in Selangor. Patients' experience and preferences of the website were categorised into two main themes, 1) quality of the content, and 2) design and appearance. Patients preferred that the website’s content to be more practical and the design to be more user-friendly. In conclusion, website must be designed tailored to the needs of the target group
Video Modelling Module in Improving Self-Help Skills of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Get PDFThis study aims to validate a video modelling module for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Malaysia to improve their self-help skills. The module was developed using video modelling techniques to teach these skills successfully. Focus group discussion (FGD) was conducted to gather expert opinions on the module's content and structures. The results were analyzed through content analysis, revealing that the module achieved its objectives with minimal improvements needed before validation. The module can be widely used to improve self-help skills among children with ASD in Malaysia. The study's findings will be used to enhance the module further

Get PDFGlobally, new schools are built according to users' needs and are comparable with the newest pedagogical approach. The efforts, however, raised concern about the affordance of existing school buildings and whether the users are experiencing the present educational transformation. This study, therefore, aims to examine factors that qualify a school to provide twenty-first-century learning, specifically pre-war school buildings in Scotland. Through a focus group design charrette, this study obtained forty-eight primary six children’s perceptions of what the school spaces afford. Schools should provide sufficient learning spaces that are broadly utilized and flexible to provide supplementary learning experiences for children
Barriers to Health Self-Management Among Older People with Hypertension and Diabetes in Institutions in China: A Phenomenological Study
Get PDFThe objective of this qualitative study is to explore the barriers to self-management among older people with hypertension and diabetes in institutional settings from the perspectives of both patients and health professionals in China. A qualitative phenomenological study used semi-structured face-to-face interviews involving eight older persons and ten health professionals. Thematic analysis revealed two main themes: 1) individual-related factors and 2) limited social support. Tailored interventions considering these multifaceted barriers can positively impact the quality of life and health outcomes for older individuals dealing with hypertension and diabetes in institutional settings

However, nutrition education can be very difficult due to various factors. This article aims to explore the challenges of nutrition education in patients undergoing bariatric surgery. A literature search was conducted using the terms 'bariatric surgery', 'nutrition education', 'nutrition challenges', 'healthcare providers', 'obesity' and 'patient education materials'. The evaluation showed that patients need longer follow-ups by healthcare professionals to support their motivation to change. An Integrated Therapeutic Approach To Enhance Quality of Life: A Case Study
Get PDFCognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), attachment theory, and humanistic psychology improve mental health by restructuring individuals’ cognition, relationship dynamics, and self-exploration. This study aimed to examine the relationships between CBT, attachment theory, and humanistic psychology in improving the client’s mental well-being. This study adopted qualitative methods, including observational data, counselling transcripts, and interviews, involving only one client. The findings showed that integrating therapeutic methods effectively addresses profound psychological challenges. The findings indicate a positive progression in the client's overall quality of life, suggesting the potential of integrated approaches in fostering meaningful counselling

Therefore, studying what inspires Indonesian MMORP users is necessary. The study used a quantitative research design on 221 online gamers who were familiar with MMORPGs but had never played them. The study tested research hypotheses using multivariate linear regression analysis. The study discovered that hedonic motivation, price value, habit, and flow all have a positive impact on one's intention to play MMORPG online games, but effort expectation and social influence have no impact
