Revolutionizing Science Education: A bibliometric exploration of the flipped classroom model
Get PDFThe flipped classroom model has emerged as a revolutionary pedagogical technique in science education. To map the research landscape, this study uses VOSviewer and Scopus Analyser to perform a bibliometric analysis of 798 publications from the Scopus database. Key study areas include learning outcomes, technology integration, as well student engagement, specifically in higher education. The findings show a notable increase in interest and publications over the last ten years. This study emphasises how scientific education is being reshaped by the flipped classroom and urges more empirical research to address underexplored areas and expand its applications
Regulating Social Media Responses to Online Harms: A comparative study between the European Union (EU) and Malaysia
Get PDFThe pervasive dominance of online harms has prompted global reconsideration of digital policy and regulation. Thus, this paper compares the regulatory approaches of the EU and Malaysia in terms of their theoretical frameworks and systemic governance of online harms. This study applies comparative legal analysis and finds that while both regions initially are in favour of cyberspace sovereignty, the status quo has led to advanced regulatory responses. The EU emphasizes user protection and transparency through rights-based laws through DSA, whereas Malaysia prioritises public security via the OSB law. The findings highlight evolving state intervention in digital governance
Enhancing Organizational Commitment in Chengdu’s Public Universities: Roles of transformational and lecturer leadership
Get PDFThis study investigates how transformational leadership (TL) and lecturer leadership (LL) influence organizational commitment (OC) in Chinese higher education. Analyzing survey data from 408 lecturers using PLS-SEM, the results reveal that TL directly enhances OC and indirectly strengthens it by improving LL. These findings underscore TL’s pivotal role in fostering supportive academic environments and suggest leadership training to cultivate OC. Future research should explore underlying mechanisms and cross-context applicability
Hospital-based Education for Hospitalized Children: A bibliometric analysis
Get PDFThis study maps the research landscape of Hospital-Based Education (HBE) for hospitalized children through a bibliometric analysis of 118 Scopus-indexed publications (1934–2024). Using tools such as BiblioMagika and VOSviewer, the study identifies publication trends, authorship patterns, and thematic clusters spanning health, pedagogy, and patient education. Findings show that HBE is a niche yet growing field, with rising scholarly attention after 2010 and moderate citation impact. The review highlights interdisciplinary contributions and research gaps, particularly in pedagogical frameworks. The study supports SDG 3 and 4, advocating stronger integration between education and healthcare for inclusive learning
Determining Expert Consensus on Post-Divorce Crisis Symptoms through the Delphi Fuzzy Method
Get PDFDivorce can trigger psychosocial crises that significantly impact individual well-being. This research employs the Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) to determine expert consensus on post-divorce crisis symptoms. Four main constructs were employed: physical, emotional, behavioral, and cognitive symptoms. A total of eight experts in the fields of counseling and psychology participated in this study. Data was assessed utilising the FDM used to reach a consensus on the symptom items. The findings indicated a high level of consensus across all constructs. This study makes a significant contribution to the development of an early assessment instrument for individuals experiencing post-divorce crises
Stigma and Discrimination in HIV Care: A pilot study in a public hospital
No full textPeople living with HIV (PLHIV) in Malaysia face Stigma and discrimination both in healthcare and the community, often fueled by negative media portrayals. This qualitative pilot study explored the experiences of five PLHIV receiving treatment in a public hospital. Findings revealed both supportive healthcare interactions and challenges, including access to HAART and discriminatory practices. Social support from family, NGOs, and healthcare providers was crucial in maintaining resilience and motivation. The study highlights the urgent need for stigma-reduction interventions, positive media portrayals, and strengthened support systems to improve PLHIV's quality of life
Consumers’ Preferences between Natural MD2-Based and Commercial Meat Tenderizers
No full textThis study evaluates consumer preference between a natural meat tenderizer made from MD2 pineapple, herbs, and spices, and a commercial product. Sensory evaluation by 25 panelists revealed significantly higher scores for the MD2-based tenderizer in terms of appearance, taste, texture, aroma, and overall acceptability. The superior performance is attributed to bromelain’s enzymatic action and the flavor-enhancing properties of herbs. While limited by sample size and scope, the findings support the potential of MD2-based tenderizers as a natural, clean-label alternative, aligning with current consumer trends toward healthier and more natural food products
Environmental Hazard at Home and Fall Incidence among the Elderly in Malaysia
No full textThis study investigated falls among the Malaysian elderly and hazards in their homes. Data from 458 participants showed that falls are common and linked to physical, sensory, cognitive, and psychological issues, as well as environmental hazards. Most home areas showed higher hazard scores among those who had fallen, except in the kitchen. The study highlights that falls result from multiple factors, not just home hazards alone. Findings support the importance of occupational therapy home modifications to reduce fall risks
Effects of Housing Design on Indoor Environmental Quality and Residents' Health in Nigeria
No full textHousing has an impact on occupants' health and well-being in addition to providing physical shelter. This study examined the effects of residential design characteristics on indoor environmental quality (IEQ) and occupant health in Nigeria. Significant outcomes were seen when environmental measurements and health questionnaires were combined in data collection from 236 houses. Findings show enhanced ventilation via window design and sustainable materials can alleviate respiratory and tiredness symptoms. The study concludes with a call for health-focused architectural interventions in house design and recommendations centre on design principles customised for tropical regions to foster healthy indoor environments
Female Behavior and Environmental Perception in Paper- Cuttings in Northern Shaanxi
No full textThis study examines Northern Shaanxi paper-cutting from a female environmental perception. Through field investigation and interviews with female paper-cutting craftsmen, an environmental embodiment chain was revealed. Environment: female craftsmen shift among fields to houses, mixed plants, and geometric minimalist motifs to meet family or client expectations. Social: courtyard audiences slow the rhythm, cooperative venues steady it, private rooms speed it up. Sensory: louder drums or brighter light cues faster cutting, embedding new meaning. Thus, perception links bodily action to identity roles, from virtuous wife to community leader. Findings inform rural cultural-space design and female empowerment
