Validating the Acceptance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Higher Education Institutions using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)
The incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) into the education system in Malaysia remains unclear. This research will adopt the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to assess users’ perceived usefulness, ease of use, and intention to accept AI-powered learning applications. An online survey questionnaire was randomly distributed to students and staff of higher education institutions in Malaysia. Three hundred eighty-three responses were collected for data analysis. The findings revealed that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use positively influence the intention to use AI in higher education institutions. Furthermore, the intention to use AI influences the acceptability of AI in higher education institutions
Transforming Poultry Supply Chains through Big Data Harmonization: Global comparisons, barriers, and lessons for Malaysia
Big Data Harmonization (BDH) is a disruptive technology that enhances decision-making in poultry supply chains by integrating and consolidating fragmented data to improve sustainability, reduce costs, and enhance data quality. This paper uses a systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to analyze BDH usage trends in six countries and the review reveals Malaysia's delay in adopting the technology due to fragmented systems, limited infrastructure, and low digital literacy. These barriers limit the progress of Malaysia's poultry industry in achieving data-driven efficiency. This paper offers solutions to accelerate BDH use, improve cost-effectiveness, and increase the resilience of Malaysia's poultry supply chain
Waste Management Efficiency: Pilot study assessment
Waste management is a crucial activity in individual or organisational contexts. In Malaysia, waste management is the responsibility of the local government councils. However, literature searches and practical observations show that there is a dearth of research on the issue of waste management efficiency, especially in the context of Kelantan. Therefore, this study aims to identify the relevant constructs, confirm the instrument's reliability, and assess the pilot assessment. A quantitative methodology was adopted; several activities were performed to validate the instrument's reliability. As a result, a 25-item instrument was developed consisting of several constructs
Effect of AI Technology Acceptance and Use on Behavioral Intentions and Career Adaptability
This study explores how UTAUT2 factors influence college students’ intentions to adopt AI and their career adaptability. Survey data from 327 students show that Performance Expectancy, Hedonic Motivation, and Habit significantly impact AI adoption, while Effort Expectancy, Facilitating Conditions, Hedonic Motivation, Price Value, and Habit influence career adaptability. The findings suggest that fostering positive attitudes toward AI is essential. To prepare students for an AI-driven workforce, the study recommends integrating AI into curricula, providing necessary resources, and promoting collaborative learning to support skill development and adaptability in a rapidly evolving technological landscape
First-Time Voter: Relationship of political knowledge towards political participation readiness in Malaysia
This study investigates the relationship between political knowledge and participation readiness among first-time voters in Malaysia by using a quantitative survey. A sample of 547 respondents was selected through simple random sampling across five geographic zones. The study found significant positive relationships between democracy information, election information, political party information, and political participation readiness. Higher awareness of democratic principles and election processes correlates with greater participation readiness. Additionally, understanding political parties is crucial for fostering active participation. Future research suggested examining socio-economic and educational influences on political participation readiness among first-time voters in Malaysia
Conceptualizing Ibn Khaldun's Thought Strategy In Student Career Planning
Career planning, integral to both worldly success and spiritual fulfillment, shapes individuals' paths toward becoming better Muslims. Aligning career choices with Islamic teachings ensures prosperity and ethical integrity. This study integrates Islamic ideals into career planning, drawing insights from Ibn Khaldun's philosophy, particularly from his work "al-Muqaddimah". Document analysis reveals Ibn Khaldun's four levels of human intellect: holistic understanding, evaluative intellect, analytical intellect, and discerning intellect. It provides career navigating and aiding students in crafting comprehensive career plans that resonate through this life and the hereafter. This research aims to bridge temporal pursuits with eternal aspirations, enriching students' holistic development
Exploring Idea Generation of Parametric Concept on Industrial Product Design
This research explores the use of parametric design tools, specifically Rhinoceros and Grasshopper, during the early stages of idea generation in industrial design education. By analyzing students' cognitive behaviors through experimental protocol analyses, the study aims to identify effective methods and measures for enhancing the conceptual design process. The focus is on improving the influence of sketching and digital tools in generating creative solutions. Results are expected to provide insights into the efficient use of parametric tools, streamlining the design process and enhancing the quality of design outcomes in education
Large-Form Ceramic Sculpture Creation using the Hand-building Method
Ceramic sculpture in Malaysia is emerging, yet the high cost of equipment limits full-time artists. This study determines how beginner ceramic students can use the traditional hand-building method, which includes pinching, coiling, and slab building, to create large-form sculptures. Through studio-based and observational research, the study found that students, despite their inexperience, successfully produced large-scale works. The results highlight the effectiveness of hand-building techniques in overcoming equipment barriers and underscore their potential for enhancing students' skills and expanding their creative possibilities in academic settings
Acceptance of Technology as a Mechanism in Enlightening the Relationship between Technology Readiness Index and Academician’s Loyalty
This study aims to explore the effects of the Technology Readiness Index (TRI) (optimism, innovativeness, discomfort, and insecurity) on loyalty via the acceptance of technology use. This study was conducted among 206 academicians using Partial Least Squares with Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis via a purposive sampling technique. The result reveals 1)optimism and innovativeness have significant positive effects on acceptance of technology; 2)insecurity and discomfort have a significant negative effect; and 3)the effects of acceptance of technology towards loyalty also have a significant positive effect, allows this study to conclude that acceptance of technology significantly mediates the relationship
Mentoring for Digital Competency Development: A comprehensive review on key issues, gaps and opportunities
This review evaluates mentoring’s role in developing digital competencies, synthesizing insights from recent studies. The methodology includes searching literature using online databases such as Web of Sciences, Scopus and Google Scholar. Key issues include limited psychological support, technology barriers, inconsistent mentoring quality, and a lack of structured programs. The gaps unveil the need for more studies on different populations, the cultural aspects of digital mentoring, and the underrepresentation of women and minorities. Future research should focus on developing mentoring models embedding both digital skills and cultural elements, longitudinal studies, and the relationship between digital literacy and mentoring effectiveness
