Watch and Learn in Signs: Interpreting Signs in Textile Motifs for Interior Design Application
This study examines the symbolic meanings of selected traditional textile patterns and their impact on visual and cultural qualities in interiors. Utilizing qualitative methods, the research highlights the interpretation of motifs, cultural contextualization, and the assessment of design relevance. The study explores how symbolic elements function as the role of motifs in cultural communication systems, and their implications for culturally informed interior design practice. Findings from the analysis emphasize the necessity for designers to engage in culturally informed practices that respect the origins and meanings of traditional motifs
Reward and Punishment Strategies in Character Building of Students with Special Needs
This study explores how Islamic Education teachers adapt reward and punishment strategies to nurture morality among primary special needs students. Using a qualitative case study involving seven experienced teachers, data were collected over 12 months through interviews, observations, and documents, and were analysed thematically. Four themes emerged: reward types, reward strategies, punishment types, and punishment principles. Teachers prioritised personalised verbal and non-verbal rewards that enhanced motivation and moral understanding, while rejecting harmful punishments in favour of reflective and empathetic methods. Although limited to PPKI primary settings, the study reinforces the value-based, ethical application of behaviour management in Islamic moral education
Expanded Printmaking Development in Malaysia through The Go Block Exhibition
Abstract
This study argues that the Go Block exhibition series has redefined contemporary printmaking in Malaysia by accelerating development changes in practice, language, and its presentation. Using an analysis of the artwork-driven editions of Go Block from 2009 until 2025, this study maps how participating artists progressively moved from conventional print-as-image toward hybrid media, unconventional matrices, artist books, spatial performances, and programme-driven publications. This conceptual and material shift introduces a revised terminology of 'matrix' and 'foreground experimentation' as defining conditions for printmaking. This paper contributes to a typology for reading the development of printmaking as expanded through the Go Block exhibition series.

Regulating Algorithmic Management On Digital Labour Platforms In Malaysia: Lessons From The United Kingdom
Digital labour platforms increasingly rely on algorithmic management to allocate tasks, monitor performance, and regulate worker behaviour. In Malaysia, limited regulatory oversight raises concerns about transparency, fairness and protection for platform workers. This study benchmarks Malaysia against the United Kingdom to examine how regulatory approaches to algorithmic management shape working conditions. The findings reveal transparency gaps in Malaysia that expose workers to unfair evaluation and automated deactivation, while the United Kingdom demonstrates stronger employment recognition transparency duties and ethical AI governance. This study advances regulatory and ethical debates by showing how governance choices shape platform workers’ quality of life
Multi-Generational Housing Environment Preferences’ Physical Features for Quality of Life and Active Ageing Community in Malaysia
Malaysia’s rapidly ageing population highlights the need for housing environments that promote well-being. This study aims to develop a conceptual framework of Multi-Generational Housing Environment Preferences’ physical features for the quality of life of an active ageing community. Using a mixed-method approach, this paper reports quantitative findings from 398 respondents in Shah Alam representing Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y, and Generation Z. Four key physical features were identified: (1) Accessibility and Walkability, (2) Communal Areas, (3) Personal Privacy, and (4) Assisted Technology Integration. These findings guide future housing developments to support inclusivity, independence, and well-being in the Malaysian contex
Exploring the Impact of Parental Support on Life Satisfaction A Comparison of urban and rural contexts
This study explores the impact of parental support on adolescent life satisfaction, mediated by academic self-efficacy and interpersonal relationships, while considering urban-rural differences. A survey of 490 ninth-grade students from Zhengzhou (urban, n=243) and Xinxiang (rural, n=247), China, was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Results show emotional support (β=0.404, p<0.001) is more influential in urban settings, while instrumental support (β=0.288, p<0.001) has a stronger effect in rural areas. These findings inform targeted interventions to enhance adolescent life satisfaction across socio-economic contexts
Park Design Attributes for Mental Restoration: A systematic review and thematic analysis
This study aims to investigate landscape attributes in park environments that could contribute to visitors’ mental restoration. A systematic review of 178 articles from ScienceDirect and Scopus website published between 2019 and 2024 was conducted, and 16 studies were found that met the inclusion criteria. The study found that green and blue attributes, living animals, safety, space representation and layout, and activity engagement are crucial attributes in landscape design that should be priorities in park environment for mental recovery. It advocates evidence-based landscape design to enhance parks, benefiting policymakers, planners, and architects while urging future research on long-term mental health effects
Review and Prospects of Organisational Resilience Research
Small and micro enterprises (SMEs) encounter big blows while operating in VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) environment as a result of their resource constrains and external dependencies. This study build a conceptual model that links organized performance to the elements of external environmental factors, internal resources, resilience capabilities, and the contribution of resilience building to SMEs. From systematically reviewing literature on VUCA and organisational resilience theories, the model specifies the pathways of how SMEs adapt and thrive in continuously changing (VUCA) conditions

Enhancing Financial Resilience in Chinese Public Hospitals: Role of dynamic capabilities
The resilience of the healthcare system directly affects the quality of public life. This study investigates how dynamic capabilities in the financial management of public hospitals, including revenue diversification, cost adjustment, budget flexibility, and financial informatization impact on the resilience of public hospitals in China. An online survey of 197 management and staff in a public hospital was conducted using a seven-point Likert scale, with data analyzed via SPSSAU and Smart-PLS. Findings reveal that revenue diversification and cost adjustment significantly enhance financial resilience. The finding of the study offers insights for policymakers to improve hospital resilience and contribute to existing literature on healthcare finance
