Tourists' Perception of Cultural Value in Destinations Impacting Satisfaction and Behavioral Intentions

This paper investigates the interrelationship among tourists' cultural value perception, satisfaction, and behavioral intentions in the context of Jingdezhen's ceramic cultural tourism. Through the application of structural equation modeling (SEM), this study empirically examines the critical factors influencing cultural value perception and their subsequent effects on tourist satisfaction and post-visit behavior from the visitors' perspective. In conclusion, the results demonstrate that five distinctive dimensions - ceramic cultural space, ceramic cultural history, ceramic art life, ceramic art experience, and ceramic art products-significantly enhance tourists' perception of Jingdezhen's ceramic culture

How does the Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) Influence Shariah-compliant Companies' Performance?

This study examines the performance of Malaysian Shariah-listed companies by analyzing their environment, social, and governance (ESG) from 2010 to 2021. Data were sourced from annual reports, the Bursa Malaysia 2022 Shariah securities list, and Thomson Reuters. A panel data analysis tested the impact of ESG, size, and leverage on performance. ESG had no significant effect on market performance (Tobin’s Q). From an accounting perspective (ROA), the environment had the most significant impact, followed by size and leverage. Companies should assess environmental policies, workplace social factors, and governance through transparency and leadership practices

Utilizing Tree Risk Assessment (TRA) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) as a pre-determine tree hazard identification

Trees carry a lot of benefits to urban areas but may also become huge threats. This study aims to integrate on-ground inspection data using TRA with UAV-based hyperspectral imagery data as pre-determined tree risk hazard levels on selected hot spots in Kuala Lumpur. Green Leaf Index (GLI) is used as a vegetation health indicator. The findings demonstrate that GLI analysis aligns significantly with tree hazard classifications, offering a reliable method for identifying hazardous trees in Malaysia's urban environments. The results indicate that this approach would specifically benefit the local authorities to accurately identify hazardous urban trees and mitigate potential threats

Family Ties to Entrepreneurial Dreams: Unveiling the Power of Values and Support in Shaping Business Ambitions

This study investigates the influence of family-related factors on individuals' entrepreneurial intentions. Practical Application and Impact of VR (Virtual) Technology in Animation Filmmaking

    No full text
The rapid development of virtual reality (VR) technology creates new dynamics in animation filmmaking. The industry was relatively constrained by traditional filmmaking tools, but now, using VR features during pre-production, animation production, and audience engagement offers unprecedented opportunities. This paper looks into the effects and usages of VR technology on animation filmmaking processes with a focus on its impact on the creative processes and experience of the audience. VR technology transforms the animation industry by offering new features like virtual storyboarding, sophisticated character design, and animation enhancement. These features enable animators to better plan and accurately render in real-time during post-production. A case in point is Black Myth: Goku, which was used for the case study research and demonstrates how VR technology can enhance creativity through articulate storytelling. The research illustrates how VR technology enhances creativity by expanding boundaries in the visual arts and, in turn, immersion and interaction for the audience. This study seeks to analyze the interaction between the current reality and prospective development of VR in animation, concentrating on the effects on workflows and audience attention in detail. For this purpose, the study employs qualitative analyses of industry cases demonstrating VR’s capability to improve production efficiency and precision. The integration of VR does come with its hurdles, such as the expensive technology and the difficulty of transitioning from traditional ways for most artists. Research shows that VR not only streamlines the process of animation production but also sophisticatedly transforms how viewers interact with the film by allowing them to engage with the digital realms in previously impossible ways. It encourages cross-discipline cooperation by enabling animators, programmers, and sound designers to work, as a unit, creatively to usher in a new level of storytelling whereby the audience can participate in multi-dimensional narratives. The findings of this study indicate that the use of VR technology will undoubtedly redefine the skeleton of animation filmmaking, integrating animated storytelling with responsive digital environments. This study brings to light the many aspects of VR adoption in animated media, thus broadening the scope of debate over the evolution of animation

Assessing Employee Happiness using the University Happiness Index

Recognizing the significance of employee well-being, the top management of a public university has established a committee to evaluate employee satisfaction using the PERMAI model, which encompasses positive emotions (P), engagement (E), relationships (R), meaning (M), achievement (A), and infrastructure (I). Data were collected using a 37-item survey instrument via an online application called AppsWarga in May, July, August, and September 2024. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine employee happiness across six dimensions, in relation to the overall university score, faculty, and campus. Overall, employees are moderately satisfied with their work at the university, and their levels of happiness vary according to the index

Determinants of Voting Intentions among Malaysian University Students: A Structural Equation Modeling approach

This study investigated the determinants of voting behavior among young Malaysian voters using the Theory of Reasoned Action and the Theory of Planned Behavior. The study aims to identify the contributing factors that influence young voters' voting behavior. Findings indicated that candidate perception, party perception, subjective norms, persuasion techniques, and social network engagement significantly influenced young voters' intentions. However, this study found that political awareness had no significant impact. The study's respondents were 422, aged 18 – 30, from Universiti Teknologi MARA through an online survey. This insight may aid in developing strategies to engage and mobilize young voters effectively

Workplace Exposure and Impact of Service and Financial Loss due to Infectious Disease History

This study explores the impact of infectious diseases like COVID-19 on workplace exposure and financial losses. A survey of 373 workers in Malaysia revealed that noise and dust were the most common workplace hazards. Workers with paid sick leave or time off had a lower risk of infectious diseases, while those who were unpaid for family illness were more likely to have a history of infection. The study highlights the significant economic and service losses due to infectious diseases and stresses the need for further research to develop strategies to mitigate these impacts, particularly during pandemics
