How Can Tourist Reviews Reflect Governance Issues? An aspect-based sentiment study in the Greater Bay Area
This study analyzes 24,183 TripAdvisor reviews on six major attractions in Hong Kong, Macao, and Zhuhai to examine cross-regional tourism governance in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. By applying Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) and Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA), the research uncovers concentrated negative perceptions regarding crowd management and service quality, as well as differences in governance characteristics across regions. The findings highlight the value of User-Generated Content (UGC) as evidence for governance and propose measures such as establishing collaborative platforms, early warning mechanism and digital governance tools to enhance governance effectiveness and promote high-quality tourism development
Ensuring Road Safety by Monitoring the Fitness of Road Enforcement Officers
Road accidents remain the leading cause of deaths in Malaysia, making the Road Transport Department (RTD) crucial in ensuring safe driving and officer productivity. Obesity among RTD officers is a concern despite initial intensive training. The NHMS 2019 revealed that 50.1% of Malaysian adults were overweight or obese, and RTD officers reflect this trend. In Terengganu, obese officers were required to join fitness programs to improve performance. This study, using questionnaires from randomly selected officers, found that obesity is higher in enforcement departments, with contributing factors including gender, education, work type, lack of exercise, and stress-coping activities, namely gaming
Forecasting Stock Prices of Three Industries using ARIMA and ARFIMA Model
Stock prices reflect a company's market value. This study aims to model the stock prices of three industries using the autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) and the autoregressive fractionally integrated moving average (ARFIMA) models, and to forecast stock prices using the best model. Data for three companies were obtained from Yahoo Finance to represent the telecommunications, financial, and construction sectors. The forecast results show that all daily stock values were within 99% of the expected ranges for both models. According to the evaluation results, the ARFIMA model outperformed the ARIMA model
Assessing The Summons Compound for Modifying Motorcycle Exhaust Pipes towards an Environmentally Sustainable
Motorcycle modifications, particularly exhaust alterations, have raised concerns as police and the Road Transport Department announced penalties for offenders. Despite the illegality and negative impacts, many owners remain indifferent. This study evaluates public perceptions of summonses issued before full enforcement. Using SPSS regression analysis, results show that most respondents believe modified exhausts harm public order and the environment. The findings highlight the importance of public awareness regarding such offences and may guide future reviews of summons rates and fines. Authorities should address quality management to enhance rider and user satisfaction
From Home to Campus: How family dynamics influence anxiety in Malaysian university students
Anxiety among university students may create difficulties in adjusting to the university environment and hinder academic excellence. We aim to investigate the association between family dynamic factors and anxiety among Malaysian university students. 853 students completed the online cross-sectional questionnaires on sociodemographic background, home and university living circumstances, family dynamics, and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory – Y Form. The predictors of anxiety among university students were determined, which include the presence of family conflict, having friends as confidants, the need for emotional support from family, family financial status, changes in family routines and gender
Occupational Balance and Caregiver Burden among Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
This study explores occupational balance (OB) and caregiver burden among parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Malaysia. A cross-sectional survey of 89 parents from National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) centres used the Zarit Burden Interview and Occupational Balance Questionnaire. Results showed significant demographic variations, with Malay parents reporting higher burden scores. However, no significant correlation was found between OB and caregiver burden. Findings emphasize the need for culturally sensitive support systems to alleviate caregiving stress. Future research should explore longitudinal and intervention-based studies to enhance parental well-being through targeted support programs and community initiatives
Rethinking Architectural Education: Why technical skills alone won’t secure the future of the profession
The architecture industry demands graduates with both technical expertise and essential soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. This study examines UCSI University's internship program as a platform for industry-aligned experiential learning, helping students develop workplace competencies. A content analysis of internship reports and employer feedback reveals that while graduates excel technically, they often lack leadership, communication, and adaptability. To bridge this gap, this study evaluates competency-based learning models such as TVET, EXCEL and TVET. By integrating structured internships and soft skills training, the research advocates for a curriculum that ensures graduates are job-ready, resilient, and aligned with industry need
Bridging Ethical Gaps in Real Estate Agency Practices: Insights from agents and consumers
The Malaysian real estate sector significantly contributes to national revenue but faces ethical challenges impacting trust and integrity. This study examines ethical issues in marketing, professional relationships, and agent-client relationships. A preliminary survey was conducted among 30 real estate professionals and 30 consumers, revealing a perceptual gap: agents rate their compliance moderately, while clients view them positively in transparency and communication. The findings highlight opportunities for agents to improve client relations through enhanced transparency and communication. Strengthened professional development and regulatory oversight are recommended to build trust, improve client satisfaction, and foster stability, ultimately enhancing the sector's reputation and long-term growth
Dynamic Impacts of Exports, ODA, FDI and Remittances on Economic Growth in India: An ARDL approach
This study examines the impact of foreign capital—specifically exports, official development assistance (ODA), foreign direct investment (FDI), remittances, and trade openness—on India’s economic growth from 1975 to 2022 using ARDL and Forecast Error Variance Decomposition. Results show that exports and ODA positively influence growth, while FDI, remittances, and trade openness have negative effects. Except for FDI, all variables are statistically significant at the 5% level. The study emphasizes the need for improved governance and policy frameworks to optimize foreign capital utilization
Teaching Strategies for Shaping Children's Character: A study using the Nominal Group Technique
This article draws on the insights of seven early childhood professionals to develop teaching strategies for shaping children's character. Despite the growing emphasis on character education, there remains a lack of validated, evidence-based strategies for achieving this goal in early childhood. This study employs the Nominal Group Technique (NGT) to develop and validate strategies through expert consensus, with seven expert-endorsed approaches receiving acceptance ratings between 90.48% and 100%. The research supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4), promoting inclusive, equitable quality education. Nevertheless, future studies should engage moral education experts to refine these strategies further
