    Personality Traits and Work Performance of Teachers in Universities in China

    This study aims to explore how the Big Five personality traits (BFPT) influence the work performance (WP) of teachers in universities and establish the mediating role of sense of belonging (SB) and used purposive sampling to survey 391 application-oriented university teachers in China and conducted analysis using PLS-SEM. The results showed that BFPT -Extraversion, Agreeableness, Neuroticism, and Openness were significantly positively correlated with teachers’ WP, while Conscientiousness had no significant relationship with performance. In addition, the SB showed a mediating effect in all the significant paths mentioned above. This study includes recommendations, limitations, and future research prospects

    Drainage Adequacy and Response Lag: Resident perspectives on the 2021 Klang Valley flood

    This study examines the impact of perceptions of drainage adequacy and government responsiveness on flood impact and recovery outcomes in an urban Malaysian community. Using a convergent mixed-methods design, quantitative survey data from 88 flood-affected households were analyzed alongside thematic insights from open-ended responses. Significant associations were found between delayed assistance and public dissatisfaction, and between drainage perceptions and property damage. Qualitative findings reinforced the need for early warnings, improved drainage, and coordinated response systems. The results underscore the importance of timely intervention, infrastructure maintenance, and transparent governance to enhance community resilience and institutional trust in flood-prone environments

    Globally Renowned Locally Rooted: Surveying the impact of value-driven performance in UiTM2025 Transformation

    The third strategic thrust of the UiTM2025 Strategic Plan, Value-Driven Performance, is supported by two values, namely i-DART, individual values ​​, and ESI as organizational values. This paper investigates the understanding of these values ​​among the UiTM community. 18,038 staff participated in the survey conducted on 18 March 2024. The study shows that the percentage of ESI and i-DART culture ​​is 60.94% for happy and very happy. While the meaning of the motto is 70.18% for happy and very happy, which shows that most of UiTM’s community is aware of UiTM’s motto

    The integration of strategy, structure, and systems, combined with effective governance and operational management, is important for a university’s progression toward global prominence. This article provides a historical overview of strategic planning developments from 1968 to 2023 and examines the frequency and prioritisation of 16 key transformative elements, which are categorised as high, moderate, low, or very low priority. Analysis reveals that strategy, structure, and systems consistently rank as the most critical elements in established planning frameworks, underscoring their central role in guiding institutional transformation, fostering innovation, and enhancing global recognition

    Self-Perceived Clinical Competence among Undergraduate Nursing Students in Malaysia

    This study examined the level of self-perceived clinical competence among 275 final-year nursing students from seven public universities in Peninsular Malaysia. Data were collected via online questionnaires using a cross-sectional design and purposive sampling. Results showed that most students perceived themselves as highly competent, particularly in domains related to nursing professional behavior and general performance. This finding revealed that final-year nursing students generally feel confident and competent in their clinical abilities as they transition into professional practice. This study emphasizes the importance of enhancing clinical education to ensure that graduates are well-prepared for the demands of the workforce

    Work-related Musculoskeletal and Psychological Disorders among Rehabilitation Professionals

    This study is to investigate the relationship between work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) and psychological status among rehabilitation professionals at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC). A previous study on nurses reported that 97.3% had WMSDs and 44.3% had psychological stress (Krishnan et al., 2021). A cross-sectional study was conducted from April to July 2024 involving 140 participants from six healthcare professions. Data were collected using the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ) and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21). High prevalence of WMSDs was reported, particularly in the lower back, shoulders, and neck, along with notable depression and stress levels. Positive but non-significant correlations were found between WMSDs and Psychological distress, emphasizing the need for targeted occupational health interventions

    This study explores the ways Malaysian contemporary artist Fadilah Karim expresses her emotions, beliefs, and personal experiences through symbolic imagery in her artwork. As one of Malaysia’s prominent contemporary women artists, Fadilah Karim often relies on visual symbolism to communicate her identity and the emotional landscape of her daily life. Much of her work revolves around her experiences as a mother, wife, and artist, reflecting themes of womanhood, intimacy, and the deep bond between parent and child. The research looks at how she uses facial expressions, gestures, and body language as symbolic tools to convey meaning. Through qualitative methods including observation, interviews, and documentation this study examines the role of self-expression, symbolism, and emotion in shaping her artistic practice. Ultimately, it shows how visual art becomes a powerful space for reflecting identity and expressing values like love, sacrifice, and humanity through representations rooted in real lived experience

    Preserving Heritage through Participatory Design Process: Sustainable packaging for traditional orang asli game kerchang

    Kerchang, a traditional Orang Asli puzzle, faces declining continuity due to modernization and limited cultural transmission. This study explores how sustainable packaging, developed through participatory design and design thinking, can support cultural preservation while addressing issues of misrepresentation and minimal youth engagement. Orang Asli representatives and museum practitioners co-created eco-friendly packaging incorporating natural motifs, recyclable materials, and a QR-linked instructional feature. Findings show that participatory co-design enhances cultural visibility, community ownership, and product value. Challenges remain in protecting Indigenous intellectual property. The study advocates Indigenous-led design collaborations to strengthen ethical cultural industries and sustainable heritage preservation
